The pool at this hotel in Kedhigandu is one of its most charming places, as it has stunning views of the sea with a swim-up bar and a chill-out zone. But, if you prefer the white sand and crystalline waters of your surroundings, the hotel offers you direct access to the beach that fringes Kedhigandu island so that you can relax on the sun loungers we have set up for you. We haven't forgotten about the little ones in the family: Hotel Riu Atoll has a children's pool and the RiuLand kids' club so that children can have fun too on holiday. They are located on the neighbouring island of Maafushi, which you can access by footbridge.

The main restaurant serves buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners with live cooking stations, and the Japanese and fusion cooking restaurants you can enjoy delicious à la carte dishes for dinner. A paradise package
From arrival to departure, the experience at the RIU Palace was perfect. We had booked for 13 nights in early July 2026. We booked a beach level room for my wife, daughter and myself. We arrived in the evening and had checked in online, so check in was swift. We were then taken to our room. We entered and it was very nice with a large bed and a sofa bed made up for our daughter. Everything was well appointed and included towels, robes, bathroom and shower sundries, fridge (with water and soft drinks renewed daily) and optics with 4 types of spirit alcohol. We had been travelling a long while and went for dinner. The buffet restaurant was a short walk from our room (110). The food there was of a great quality and lots of options. Service from the friendly and attentive staff was excellent and we ate there every night except for 2. Those 2 nights we ate at the Krystal and Yu Hi a la carte restaurants, both providing a very tasty dining experience. Before and after dinner we would visit the bar and listen to the relaxed evening entertainment. The bar served international branded spirits. Each table had a QR code for the drinks menu and all service was to the table. If you wanted a coctail not on the menu, the staff would happily make it if they had the required ingredients. The waiting staff in the bar were extremely friendly and happy, wanting a chat (if time permitted) and ensuring they learnt your names to make a return visit more personal. We woke the next morning to the most beautiful view from our room. Being a beach access room, we opened the doors onto a small veranda, then onto the beach, with the sea around 20m away. There are plenty of sunbeds and areas for shade or sun worshiping. The sea was a lovely temperature and perfect for snorkeling, with the water very calm. We spent most days relaxing here, with walks to the pool. The pool sits behind the main bar and includes a swim up bar with some seating. We would regularly walk here with access along the beach and have drink or two and a chat with the bar staff. Every day the rooms are cleaned, towels and bedding changed on request (towels on the floor if wanting changed and for bedding leave a card on the bed). The cleaning person would do something each day for us to come back to, be it a towel animal or a palm/flower arrangement. A lovely touch.
Overall we highly recommend this holiday and hotel. The location is breathtaking, the staff the best we have encountered in all out travels, the food and drink complemented the perfect surroundings and even this time of year, the weather was great (with only 1 sign on rain over just short of 2 weeks).

Paradise holiday
We were stayed in riu palace maldives for like two weeks , that was my favorite hotels , with the nice view best service food and drinks as well . Especially the bar service was super 10/10 i love to come back again special mention to desy sanju samee dasun chamod poonum and thanuka

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the service at RIU Palace Maldives was simply world-class. I have traveled to many beautiful places, but I have never experienced such a genuinely friendly, helpful, and service-minded team. Every single staff member greets you with a smile, remembers your preferences incredibly quickly, and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and special. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Their warmth and dedication truly set this resort apart. The food is outstanding from breakfast to dinner, with an incredible variety of choices every day. The quality of both the food and beverages is exceptional and consistently exceeds expectations. Every meal felt like a culinary experience. The rooms are impeccably cleaned, and the entire resort is maintained to the highest standard. Everywhere you look, you can see the care and pride that the staff take in creating a true five-star environment. Even the drivers transporting guests between the islands are incredibly friendly, professional, and service-oriented. The island itself is paradise. The breathtaking surroundings, crystal-clear water, and peaceful atmosphere make it the perfect place to relax and recharge. Having access to RIU Atoll as well adds even more value and variety to the experience. What impressed us most, however, was the people. From housekeeping, bartenders, restaurant staff, drivers, and receptionists to every employee we met along the way – every interaction was positive, genuine, and memorable. The staff are the heart and soul of this resort. We would not hesitate for a second to return and spend another vacation here. RIU Palace Maldives delivers not only a stunning location, but also an unforgettable experience through exceptional food, outstanding service, and truly remarkable people. Best holiday....ever
Absolutely the best holiday ever!! Loved everything, we upgraded to the water villa with pool and we were complete!! We couldnt have asked for more, the staff were amazing, everyone and everything was wonderful from start to finish. The water....wow....so crystal clear and warm.... heaven on earth!!
