If you're thinking of having a luxury holiday in a paradise destination, Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas is the ideal place for you. This all-inclusive resort in the Maldives is located on the private island of Kedhigandu and it offers an all-inclusive 24-hour service, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, a wide range of cuisines and many relaxation and entertainment options.
To help you enjoy your stay in maximum comfort, the Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas has Junior Suites located in various villas, as well as the exclusive overwater suites, some of which have small private pools. Its more than 150 rooms are equipped with minibars, drinks dispensers, kettles, air conditioning and satellite tv, among many other facilities.
The pool at this hotel in Kedhigandu is one of its most charming places, as it has stunning views of the sea with a swim-up bar and a chill-out zone. But, if you prefer the white sand and crystalline waters of your surroundings, the hotel offers you direct access to the beach that fringes Kedhigandu island so that you can relax on the sun loungers we have set up for you. We haven't forgotten about the little ones in the family: Hotel Riu Atoll has a children's pool and the RiuLand kids' club so that children can have fun too on holiday. They are located on the neighbouring island of Maafushi, which you can access by footbridge.
Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas offers a range of cuisines that will surprise you. The main restaurant serves buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners with live cooking stations, and the Japanese and fusion cooking restaurants you can enjoy delicious à la carte dishes for dinner. You can also try the Italian restaurant and the steakhouse at Hotel Riu Atoll if you want to try something different.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This review is long overdue, but after reflecting on my stay at Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas, I felt compelled to share what an incredible experience it was.
From the moment I arrived, everything was seamless. The transfer process from Malé was exceptionally well organised, with RIU staff on hand at various stages of the journey to guide guests and ensure everything ran smoothly. It made travelling to the resort completely stress-free and set the tone for what became a truly memorable holiday.
The resort itself is simply stunning. The views are breathtaking in every direction, and the natural beauty of the Maldives is on full display. One of the absolute highlights of my stay was the snorkelling. The marine life around the resort was amazing, and during my time in the water I was fortunate enough to see turtles, reef sharks, rays and an incredible variety of colourful fish. It was an unforgettable experience and one of the best snorkelling holidays I have ever had.
My room was located on the sunset side of the island with direct beach access, and it could not have been more perfect. Being able to step straight onto the beach and watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean each evening was magical. Those sunsets became the highlight of every day and are among my favourite memories from the trip.
The service throughout the resort was outstanding. Whether in the restaurants, around the pool, in the lounge bar, or from the housekeeping and grounds teams, the attention to detail was consistently impressive. Every member of staff I encountered was warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming. They are a tremendous credit to both the resort and the RIU brand as a whole.
The food was of a very high standard throughout my stay, with plenty of variety to keep things interesting. The speciality restaurants on the Palace side were an excellent addition to the main restaurant and provided some lovely dining experiences. I didn't visit the restaurants on the RIU Atoll side, so can't comment on those, but I was more than satisfied with the options available at the Palace.
The drinks selection was equally impressive. The quality was excellent, and the bar staff were incredibly attentive, regularly checking whether guests needed anything while also taking the time for friendly conversation. Their genuine interest in making guests feel welcome added greatly to the overall experience.
I would also like to mention the gym on the RIU Atoll side. It is well equipped and offers spectacular sea views from some of the equipment, which certainly makes any workout more enjoyable.
Check-in upon arrival at the resort was smooth and efficient, meaning I was able to start enjoying my holiday almost immediately. The care and professionalism shown by the team throughout my stay were exceptional.
The ultimate compliment I can give is that I enjoyed my stay so much that I am returning in a few weeks' time, this time bringing my parents so they can experience this wonderful resort for themselves. I am genuinely excited to return and create new memories with my family.
Thank you to everyone at Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas for making the trip so special. A stay here will not leave you disappointed. I can't wait to return later this month.
rating 5 terrible experience
My wife and I went to this Resort in the beginning of june, and if I have to describe it in 1 word: Perfect! We had an overwater bungalo with pool, and this was above imagination. Nice clean room and perfectly cleaned everyday, with a animal made of towels every day.
Then the food, it was nice and tastefull and every day there was a different selection of fish and meat. If you dont like anything here, I'm wondering what you are eating at home.
But the biggest plus of this resort is the personal. They are all friendly and more than willing to make your holiday the best. Ask them anything and they try to fix it for you. And a special thanks to: Puja, Chamika, Anu, Samee, Bharat, Sanju, Mita, Thanuka and Sando around the swim up bar, they were the best!
If it is possible in the future, this will definitly a location to visit again.
Well where do I start, 2nd year on the trot visiting this beautiful place to start my 60th birthday celebrations. Yet again we were not disappointed. I had emailed prior asking if possible for a room on the sunset side and we were allocated room 102. Lots of familiar faces still there and some new ones. We were warmly greeted by staff who remembered us from last year. Pool bar staff, Desy, Sanju, Sameera, Poonam, thank you Puja making Richard’s stay happy with 2 fingers of captain Morgan’s, Ramesh although now over the Atoll side was brilliant and Chandoo, all 100%. The waiters in the palm restaurant [ the food is so good we didn’t feel the need to use any other restaurants), all brilliant but a special mention to Najah who was perfect and gave 200% and goes above and beyond to make your stay brilliant, there was nothing we could fault with him and thank him for looking after us. The Chefs all brilliant and special shout out to Edi and Amin. The food is top notch. The cleaning staff are always around, the place is spotless. Sameera who cleaned the room and left us lovely towel decorations every day. This hotel deserves the 5 star and never say never but we will return.
A fantastic place to relax and admire the beauty of the Maldives. The hotel is maintained well. Food is delicious and plentiful. The bar is well stocked and the staff - Poonum samee chamod Desy puja thanuka sanjeewa pasi fernando dasun, serve delicious cocktails from 10am until midnight.
