Our overall experience at Ayada Maldives was absolutely incredible, and one of the things that made it even more special was the care we received from Chef John.
My husband, Tommy, has several serious food allergies, including fish, seafood, shellfish, sunflower seeds, nuts, almonds, and banana. Since our half-board package included the buffet, we were naturally concerned about cross-contamination and about how difficult it could be for him to eat safely throughout our stay.
From the moment we arrived, we were introduced to Chef John, and he immediately made us feel completely at ease. He told us that he would personally take care of Tommy’s meals and that we could choose whatever we wanted from the buffet, and he would prepare it separately and safely for us.
And that is exactly what he did.
Chef John would ask us in advance what we wanted to eat so he could have everything planned and prepared safely. Then, once we arrived at the restaurant, he would come over to greet us and start sending out the dishes so that everything arrived at the table fresh and at its best. Every single meal felt thoughtful, personal, and completely stress-free.
Beyond his incredible talent as a chef, what truly stood out was his kindness and the genuine care he showed us. He is not only an exceptional professional, but also an extraordinary person. Chef John and his entire kitchen team went above and beyond to make sure Tommy could enjoy every meal without worrying, which is something that is usually very difficult for him when travelling or eating at restaurants.
The General Manager of Ayada was also incredibly attentive and made sure we felt cared for and supported throughout our stay, which made the whole experience even more special.
Chef John truly took our honeymoon experience from a 10 to a 1000. Being able to enjoy every meal together without stress made such a huge difference for both of us, and especially for Tommy. We cannot thank him and his team enough.
We will absolutely return to Ayada Maldives, and a huge part of that is because of the incredible care we received from Chef John, his kitchen team, and the Ayada management team.
Thank you, Chef John, for making our honeymoon even more unforgettable. We will never forget you!
We had an amazing time at Ayada Maldives! The surf sessions with Kelly and Shappu were a highlight, and we also had great experiences with Roshan, Boxo, and the rest of the wonderful staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back!
Ayada resort was simply amazing and lived up to the surf-vaca bucket list trip I thought it would be. The food, the people (especially Kelly, Shappu, Jade, Nasrin and Affan) and the accommodations were phenomenal. We mainly came here to surf and catch epic, less crowded waves and leave with priceless memories. Thanks to Kelly and Shappu, the Maldives surf experience delivered all that! We really appreciated their professionalism, ocean knowledge and guidance that took us to the best waves available each day...and got us back to the boat and resort safely. This trip will be forever burned it to my brain.
We had an exceptional time at Ayada Maldives. Our group of three came primarily for the surfing, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The surf crew, Kelly and Shappu, took great care of us and made our trip incredibly memorable. Kelly was an excellent guide and host, and Shappu did an amazing job capturing our surf sessions on video. They truly made our surf experience something special.
Our time at the resort was equally memorable. Jade and Affan provided exceptional service throughout our stay, and our housekeeper did an outstanding job taking care of us and our villa. The level of service and hospitality from the entire team was top-notch.
We had an absolute blast and are genuinely sad to leave. Thank you to everyone at Ayada for making this such a memorable trip. We hope to return in the near future!

The surfing was one of the absolute highlights of our stay at Ayada. Kelly and Shappu were fantastic from start to finish. They know the local breaks extremely well, always put us onto great waves and made every session relaxed and enjoyable.
They also captured some awesome footage of us surfing and went above and beyond by putting together edited videos with music for us. Such a great memory to take home.
What really stood out was how much effort they made outside of the surfing as well. We were at Ayada celebrating my wife Claire’s 50th birthday, and they made it incredibly special with local drums, singing and dancing. It was completely unexpected and something we will remember.
Kelly and Shappu are genuinely great guys who made a huge contribution to our trip. We had some epic surf sessions, plenty of laughs and an amazing experience.
