⭐ 1/5 – Not a 4-Star Experience
We booked this hotel through Loveholidays because it was advertised as a 4-star hotel and had positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing and did not reflect a 4-star standard.
The biggest issue was that our room had no air conditioning for three days. We reported this repeatedly and requested assistance, but the issue remained unresolved. In the heat, this had a significant impact on our holiday and comfort.
Customer service was poor throughout our stay. Reception was often unattended, concerns were not taken seriously, and staff and management were generally unhelpful when issues were raised.
There were also hygiene concerns, including food being left uncovered, flies around food, cups that did not appear properly cleaned, and public toilets that were in an unacceptable condition. Since returning home, I have also experienced rashes, which has added to my concerns about the cleanliness standards.
Many advertised facilities were either unavailable or in poor condition. The indoor swimming pool was closed and being used as a storage area, there was no entertainment despite it being advertised, the gym and tennis court were poorly maintained, and the Wi-Fi was largely unusable.
What disappointed us most was that these concerns were raised throughout our stay, yet little appeared to be done to resolve them. Had the hotel been accurately represented, we would have chosen to stay elsewhere.
Based on our experience, we do not believe this hotel met the standard of a 4-star property and would not return. However two of the bar staff could not do more for you. The stripe is very good with couple of bars and the beach is very nice but limited food and drinks. Peaceful holiday
We stayed at X Life Hotel in Sadi Germe for 7 nights, and I can honestly say it was the most disappointing hotel experience of our lives. Nothing was as advertised, and the overall service and conditions were completely unacceptable. The Room & Bathroom: The room looked horrible. To make matters worse, the bathroom had severe mold/dampness issues . When we asked at the reception to change our room, the staff flat-out refused to help us. Amenities: For the entire duration of our stay (7 nights), we had to shower with cold water every single day! Furthermore, the cleaning service was a complete joke. The maids only came in to slightly adjust the corners of the sheets, doing zero actual cleaning. In 7 nights, our bed linens were never changed even once. Food: The food variety was extremely poor. Day after day, we were served the exact same dishes recycled from the previous day. Despite being in Turkey, there was a complete lack of traditional Turkish food—we expected authentic, delicious local cuisine, but the food quality was deeply depressing. Drinks & All-Inclusive Policy: The drinks were horrible—clearly the cheapest, lowest-quality brands available. To top it all off, even though we booked an all-inclusive package, we were told we had to pay for drinks after 10:30 PM! Service: The customer service was extraordinarily poor and unprofessional from start to finish. Horrible, horrible, horrible! We do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money and choose somewhere else.
Went with my partner and was expecting a beautiful calming 4* experience all inclusive hotel , only thing good was the view , got there and no information in description it was under renovation, food was dirty and dyer went out and paid for food in town every night , the women’s toilets were horrific ants all over toilet seat/ in the bowel physically having to squat over toilet seat to use , mouldy toilet roll that’s if there were any else we’re having to use napkins from dining room , bedroom was falling apart tap eroded off , shower drain protruding from floor partner cut his foot reported nothing done , no staff about for all inclusive service guests were having to self service themselves for hours at the bars , beach bar says include snacks and lunch which resulted in a soggy bread with a slice of lettuce and cheese, we aren’t fussy but when you are paying money for a 4* hotel you’d at least expect a 4* hotel with 4* service , this wasn’t even 3* hotel for us only good thing was the view that’s it , no gym as stated all photos we believe is ai on the description as looked nothing like what we booked online. Please don’t waste your money as really disappointed
I rarely leave reviews, but people deserve to know what they’re paying for before booking this hotel. Their photos we believe are AI and not true to the actual experience.
We chose XL Hotels in Sarigerme because it was advertised as a 4-star all-inclusive resort with facilities including a gym and leisure areas. What we found was a hotel in poor condition, with parts under renovation, a closed gym throughout our stay, and standards that were nowhere near what was advertised.
Our room had broken bathroom fittings, corroded taps, a cracked shower head and a dangerous shower drain that was sticking up from the floor. Despite reporting it, nothing was done. I cut my foot on it, and we later found other guests had suffered the same. Guest safety clearly wasn’t taken seriously.
The cleanliness was shocking. The women’s toilets near the upper bar had ants crawling over the toilet seat and inside the toilet bowl, dirty seats, broken flushes, damaged cubicle doors and, on occasions, no toilet paper at all. For a hotel claiming to be 4-star, this is completely unacceptable.
The all-inclusive service was equally disappointing. Bars were regularly left unattended for long periods, guests were helping themselves because no staff were around, the hotel repeatedly ran out of ice and even basic soft drinks like Sprite, and we waited over an hour to be served despite asking reception several times.
The food was also completely misrepresented. The hotel advertised a varied, high-quality all-inclusive dining experience, but the reality was extremely disappointing. Meals were repetitive, often served lukewarm, and lacked both variety and quality. The beach bar was advertised as serving snacks and lunch, yet what was provided was little more than a soggy piece of bread with a tiny slice of cheese and lettuce. This fell far below what any reasonable guest would expect from a 4-star all-inclusive hotel and did not match the description used to market the holiday.
We reported faults in our room on our first night, only to be told later that there was no record of our complaint and nothing had been repaired. Speaking to other guests, it became obvious this was a recurring problem.
This hotel is tired, poorly maintained and nowhere near the standard it advertises. We have photographs and videos of the mould, broken fixtures, dangerous bathroom defects, poor hygiene, closed facilities and other issues.
If you’re looking for a genuine 4-star holiday, book somewhere else. We genuinely wish we’d ignored the positive reviews because our experience was nothing like them.
Avoid.
Where do i start
This us a true and honest review.
We arrived on the 3rd of July after lunch and as we walked in the reception area was stiffling hot no air conditioner on ,it was in the corner off, told to go to the bar as our rooms had to be sorted.
The only place you get wifi is outside by the bar and around close to the restaurant area, luckily I used a pocket WiFi so everyone in our party had the Internet anywhere .
The rooms had a fridge that didn't work .
Rooms need updating but must admit the beds were rea comfy and did sleep like a log,the maids did a good job along with the waiters and waitresses were really friendly and polite and would go out of their way to help in every way .
This hotel would be a brilliant place if it was run properly ,we booked this all inclusive hotel for 2 weeks ,only to find out as we arrived you couldn't get a soft drink until 10.30 in the morning and the pool bar wasnt open until 12.30 pm ,forgetting by 09.00 in the morning it was already 28 29 degrees and hot only thing you could get was water.
Now we move to the drinks they kept running out of vodka and gin daily probably on purpose to save money, along with soft drinks daily running out of Fanta, coke, and sprite until the next day and the second week they took 3 days to get soft drinks .
The staff were amazing and the guy that was on the Turkish bath reception went down to the local shop and got us 4 bottles of soft drinks till the bar opened at 10.30.
Now the food well not a lot to say here really they dont cater for the English and the chef's need to be replaced ,had a good chat with the manager about what brits like along with the chef, and was told the following morning would be different, and guess what it didn't happen had to ask for pancakes every morning as who wants cold chips for breakfast, there was no cereal the butter packs were going off.no fruit availability
Lunchtime ,the only thing that was edible was the pizzas 🍕 when the chef was on duty and the salad and the chicken, apart from that the rest looked disgusting.
Now to the pool.
Lovely pool but please do not go in wearing a bikini or anything that's white as the pool has copper in to stop the water turning green but they are suppose to balance it out by using chlorine and there was no chlorine in the water hence everything that was white turned YELLOW ,one of our friends had blonde hair and even that turned green ,luckily it washed out and other friends we made there the guys legs turned yellow ,so something is totally wrong in the water.
Ohh and after 10.30pm all drinks have to be paid for so you can imagine our table was well stacked ,that's if they didn't run out of alcohol like they did daily .
Ohh and where you walk out from the bottom of the stairs hotel towards the pool stinks of cat piss.
I have done my homework and 65% of people on holiday in turkey are British,
This hotel needs a total change of management as the dates we were there the hotel was only 65 % full and that time of yesr it shoukd be 90% full and the way its run,it has potential to be a lovely place but sadly we won't be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone .
