What makes this hotel is the staff. The Turkish staff specifically!! Friendly and helpful, in fact what makes the resort is the people. The Turkish men are incredibly friendly and respectful of women in and off the resort. Most were more entertaining than the entertainment team. Couldn't do enough for you. This is definitely a stretch for a 5 star, relative to the price certainly, picture perfect on cleanliness, average food and crap drink, other than the beer, if there was a la carte offering didn't see it, zero non dairy options ,gym was a joke, and the daily scrum for a place round the pool was something black Friday would only dream off! They would do well to extend the drinks service to the beach portion as getting a lounger on beach was never a problem. I think the major theme is if you don't ask you don't get, if you ask then the world opens up, trouble obviously is you don't necessarily know what to ask for. FAQ would help. We only found out the was a separate pool the day prior to leaving. Paragliders. Amazing there is zero chance of collision even if you were trying your best to engineer one. Watching people landing on huge strip was awesome. Great bus service to multiple towns just outside hotel. Couple of quid, pretty much every 5 minutes

Not what I expected. We have stayed in Olu Deniz many times and have often longed to stay at the Belcekiz Beach due to its location and reputation as being the best hotel but it was out of our price range, only being able to book through Tui. Plus points -We booked a deluxe room, which was lovely, couldn't fault it and the cleaners were amazing. Fresh towels daily and sheets changed every couple of days. Lovely shower, toiletries provided, lots of fresh water left daily. The food in the restaurant was good, although I have had bigger buffet choices for a 5 star. Some of the bar staff were very attentive but it did sometimes feel that it was a race for the staff to deliver drinks rather than a leisurely sit in the bar. I hadn't even finished my drink and there was another on the table which I didn't necessarily want. On a negative, I found that the restaurant waiters/bar staff were extremely young. Some only 15. Apparently on work experience from school. (cheap labour). A lot were very moody and looked like they really didn't want to be there. One older waiter in the bar area wearing a white polo shirt (obviously a supervisor) really was a bulley in the way he treated the younger staff. One of the young waiters dropped some empty glasses off a tray and the supervisor sent him packing in front of the guests, which upset and embarrassed him. The glasses were empty. He should have just been given the opportunity to clear them up. It was horrible to see the poor lad obviously upset. The supervisor has obviously been at the hotel a number of years as he could turn on a smile for his English repeat guests but not for new guests aparently. I found this behaviour really surprising as I always find Turkish waiters to be happy and jokey. I've never known staff afraid to do their job or certainly not happy in their job. Maybe management needs to review their staffing policies because your staff don't look happy at all and it shows big time. Even one of the entertainment staff put on a happy face at varying times during the day and then moan to guests when they are not performing. It was like listening to a counselling session. The pool/pool bar/snack area looks like it could do with a good scrub and a lot of the wooden furniture is looking very tired which let down the "Five Star" rating of the hotel. Unlike in other hotels I didn't see cleaners wiping down sunbeds/tables each day or cleaning the floor. The gardens are well maintainedand the hotel is in a fabulous spot but it lacks sophistication and a bit of refinement for a 5 star. I was disappointed and feel it was all too rustic. This hotel needs an upgrade to compete with the other hotels in Olu Deniz I'm afraid. I don't think it's worth the extra cost at this time. Such a shame. If you want a hotel which is more like a Butlins holiday camp then this is the place for you.
