TripAdvisor Review
Few issues however, we had a lovely week

When we booked this hotel we were really wary due to the negative reviews we had read. When we arrived early hours in the morning as it took us nearly 2.5 to get there the hotel appeared really nice. We were allocated a room on the 4th floor number 411. When we went into the room the first thing we noticed was how small it was. The room was an annex room so you could only stand up in the middle of the room when you got near the doors into the balcony. The bed was a really small double and the bathroom was so small. It was our first night and we were really tired so we said we would stay for the night then go to reception in the morning to see if we could change rooms. My husband is 6ft and I am 5ft 10. So we really struggled. The next morning we went to reception and told them the room was not suitable as it was too small. We were shown another room on the first floor. The room was so big compared to the one we had been given however, when we went onto the balcony we looked into a white wall. No views at all. We said we would not be prepared to move to that room. We were told to come back the next morning and then they would see what room is available. We decided to stay where we were as the view from our balcony was so nice it was just the room was so small, the bed was so hard it felt like you were lying in a slab. The bathroom you could not get 2 of us in there at one time. The shower was a tiny square. You could not even bend down to pick up shower gel, shampoo etc from the floor you had to squat down, the shower doors didn’t close properly so we had to fold up a towel w wet time we showered as the floor would have been flooded. Please be mindful that the walls in the bedrooms and paper thin and you can hear everything that goes on. Yes the room was not ideal however, we made do as we were only there for a week.

The food in the hotel was okay. There was a variety of dishes however, mainly chicken at every meal. You could always find something to eat even if you are fussy. What we didn’t like was at meal times much and dinner you had to have plastic glasses. I get it if you are round the pool through the day however, at meal times a glass would have been nice. It would have also been nice to sit on a cushion when you are eating inside our outside as there were so uncomfortable. If the doors shut when you were in the restaurant you may have been able to feel the air con. It was like a sweat house.

The sunbed situation was a bit of a night mare. We were up at 6.30am every morning for bed otherwise we would have been in the shade all day if we had waited. There was only one morning when all the towels were taken off and left at reception.

The hotel is spotless and staff are always cleaning.

Overall we had a lovely holiday. Would we return maybe if there were small changes to the hotel that improve it.

Good hotel but could do much better

Just returned from 12 days at the Ideal Pearl. This is a generally good hotel with nice rooms, free safes, good air con and mostly friendly staff. Positives - clean rooms, great location, nice public areas. Downsides - tables not cleaned in outdoor dining area, numerous fertile stray cats running around the restaurant and jumping on tables, smoking allowed in outdoor dining area. By far the biggest downside is the loud techno boom boom dance music that is played at high volume throughout the day without a break. I have an ear problem and asked on numerous occasions for the music to be turned down but with no avail. This is an adult’s only mainly couples hotel and not an Ibiza party resort. The two guys who provide this music obviously like this sort of music but they are two young guys. The entertainment is diabolical and the two guys who provide the entertainment are completely useless. Ideal Pearl - you need to make improvements before you lose customers!!

A well polished Gem..with Shinning Staff

Returning for a second time, in July. I just want to say, how wonderful our stay was. The staff at this hotel are hardworking, mannerly and caring. They are like family. The cleanliness of the hotel is 1st Class! The cleaners work endlessly. I love the location and the intimate size of the hotel. I understand it may have problems with sunbeds at the height of the season, but the life guard and members of staff always accommodated us with beds and an umbrella when we needed one. As a pescatarian I did sometimes struggle with the variety of food, but I always found something, and we ate our a couple of evenings. The Ideal Pearl is a little gem. I do hope it continues to invest in it's staff and residents so that others can enjoy a stay at this hotel, just as we have. I would hope to return in the future!

Ideal pearl - just ideal

Rooms & First Impressions

We’d requested not to be on the ground floor and to have a double bed, so being handed a ground‑floor twin on arrival wasn’t exactly the dream start. Thankfully, after a quick chat, we were moved to the 2nd floor where we landed a huge, comfy bed, a clean room, and some decent storage. The balcony… well, let’s just say it was more compact than sun‑lounger paradise…. Ours wasn’t in the best spot, but we did see others with lovely views, so I guess it really is luck of the draw.

Food & Drink….

Food? Fab. Genuinely fab. I don’t know how anyone could fault it.

• The salads were amazing - fresh, colourful, varied, seasoned, plain…. You name it, they had it. • There was loads of variety every day. • And even the ‘same’ dishes could be mixed and matched into something new. Basically, if you can’t find something to eat here, you’re trying not to!

Drinks? Well… that’s where things get interesting, and not in a good way.

• Cocktails looked great on the menu, but they didn’t actually contain the spirits they were should have. For example….An amaretto sour with no amaretto is just… a sour. They’re basically a squirt of each fizzy drink with a splash of nail varnish remover that they named gin or vodka. • The beer tasted fine, but you could drink 30 of them and still pass a breathalyser. • The wine… honestly, I’m convinced it was non‑alcoholic and possibly made from grapes that had given up on life, I had to mix the red wine with cola to avoid getting shudders as I swallowed it. • The upstairs bar was lovely though — quieter, calmer, and a nice escape from the main area. Slightly different drink menu, but again, you’d have to sink plenty to even feel a touch tipsy.

Entertainment & Activities

Evening entertainment was hit and miss; belly dancers, karaoke, the usual holiday bits. The daytime team were lovely, offering darts, soft archery, table tennis, and aqua aerobics. All the staff worked really hard, and apart from the occasional bar man who acted like he’d personally mined the ice from a glacier, everyone was friendly and helpful.

Excursions

We did the boat trip with Mr Fish from the street at the main entrance, and it was a fab day out — definitely worth doing.

Facilities

• Spa & sauna available - can’t comment as we didn’t use them • Gym is free but tiny and very basic

Location

Perfect. Just a couple of minutes’ walk to bars, shops, restaurants, and the beach. Couldn’t fault it.

Pool Situation

My partner went biking at 6am every morning, so he’d put our towels down early, we’d be sat out on them by 8:30/9am, but even by 6am, some were already out….. but, you only really needed to do this if you were wanting a specific place around the pool.

The good news:

• There were always spare beds stacked up • Parasols available. • Lifeguards were happy to help move things around.

The bad news: • Some people put towels down and then never actually appeared, which should be an arrestable offence in my opinion.

All in all…..

The hotel is clean, friendly, well located, and the food is genuinely brilliant. The drinks… well, if you’re hoping to get tipsy, you might need to bring your own emergency hip flask….. (we did). We also bought some bottled beers from the supermarket. But overall, we had a lovely stay, met great staff, enjoyed the activities, and had a fab boat trip. We also had a beach day and made the most of the free sunbed area and took our own food and drink.

Great holiday and hotel

This is small hotel couples only. Just got back July 2026. It has a very friendly atmosphere and would definitely go back. Having been to many hotels in the past we found in comparison the food to be really good. The coffee bar had iced lattes and brilliant icon so nice place to cool down. WiFi is free throughout the hotel. Staff were exceptional as was the cleanliness. There's a lift to all parts of the hotel too. .There are bars restaurants and shops close by and beach also. Other reviews mention noise, however we did not come across this. Would recommend
