I had wanted to stay at this hotel for a long time, so unfortunately it was a huge disappointment.
The biggest issue for us was the attitude of some of the staff. We never stayed for the evening entertainment because whenever we walked through the bar area, members of staff would mock and laugh at our autistic child. This was incredibly upsetting and completely unacceptable. I complained to TUI about this, and that same evening the manager followed us out of the hotel and took photographs of us, which made us feel extremely uncomfortable.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and paid to upgrade to a full English breakfast one morning. It was awful. The food was cold and unpleasant, and trying to order anything at breakfast felt like pulling teeth. Staff would stand around talking while guests were waiting to be served.
There are nowhere near enough sunbeds for the number of guests, and the prices charged for very basic, cheap food are extortionate.
The air conditioning was another frustration. It cost £35 for the week, yet the settings didn't work properly. It was essentially either on or off. The only way we could turn it off was by removing the key card, so the room was either freezing cold or boiling hot.
Our room also had several issues. The curtains only covered around half of the balcony doors. The overhead shower didn't work, and there was nowhere to secure the handheld shower head, meaning you had to physically hold it above your head while showering. I had an injured shoulder at the time, so this made showering particularly difficult.
The worst hygiene issue was in the pool/bar toilets. There was human faeces on the toilet wall that remained there for THREE DAYS before it was cleaned, despite staff being made aware of it. For any hotel, this is completely unacceptable.
The only positives I can give are the pools, which were lovely, and the cleaners, who worked hard and were pleasant.
I had genuinely been excited to finally stay here, which made the experience even more disappointing. We certainly wouldn't return. The way our autistic child was treated every single night, completely overshadowed our holiday and is something no family should have to experience.
Excellent location. Amazing atmosphere. Entertainment team incredible, they know how to do their jobs very well. Entertainment every night and really enjoyable. Drag night. Pool party. Drifters night. Karaoke. White party. Etc… Rooms clean and tidy. Beds could be comfier but not too bad. The ONLY thing that put me off was all the hidden extras you had to pay for on arrival. Fridge and air con £60 for the week. Safe, WiFi, extra pillows as they only give you one per person. Blanket if needed. Toaster. Fan. Kettle. All had to be paid extra for, and not cheap. Doesn’t ruin your holiday but just be aware of them before you come. Apart from this I would highly recommend this place. We were her 18 months ago and some of the staff remembered us. Really welcoming. All staff so incredibly friendly and always said hello and smiled. Tattoo parlour always busy. Wee restaurant across the road called Speedy’s was to die for. Arrive as strangers, leave as friends.
Well we was recommended this hotel by friends we had met in Marmaris. we was looking forward to staying here. first id like to say the refurb isn't a refurb at all the paint looks old and markings are visible all around hotel, it looks as if it needs a refurb not been through one. 2nd point id make is the cleaners or specifically the cleaner on the 2nd floor. did not clean our room for 4 days and then when she did there was no mopping or sweeping she came in made the beds replaced the towels and went. our feet were black on the hotel room floor and balcony as none of it was mopped or cleaned. Staff around the pool- Non existent, i was sat on a table and waited 45 minutes for a drink. prices are ridiculous as well. 2 entertainment staff left during our stay also. the ones that stayed Simba and leon were brilliant lads. on check out they tried to pin a broken bedroom door on us and make us pay a fee. he flat out came up to me and stated that i had damaged the door. luckily on check in we had taken a picture of the broken bedroom door as it was like this when we was given the room. so disappointed with this hotel and wont be staying again a one and done for us. I'd like to add that this is actually the first review i have ever written and usually understand the get what you pay for argument. but the total lack of service and rudeness of the reception staff is unreal, people may not pay massive amounts but they PAY... a little customer service would be great.
First time staying at Atrium and definitely will not be the last! Felt right at home from the very first day, the staff are all lovely people who work hard to make sure you have the best holiday. Ignore any negative reviews, go and see for yourself. Our new favourite place to stay in Marmaris, see you all next time xx
I was soo wary of coming after reading some of the very negative comments on here. Well we absolutely loved our stay and will most definitely return. Yes the whole hotel is a bit dated and in need of a bit of a refurb but the staff make up for it. Lovely people as always in Turkey. Excellent location and everything on hand pool areas are spotlessly clean and I just loved seeing everyone having fun. As most have said there is the added extras but we just needed air conditioning and a safe so for £8 a day extra it was worth it. Just loved it.
