Blue Bay Platinum Hotel

Just back from Blue Bay Platinum, lovely hotel. Everything clean and well organised, relaxed atmosphere, staff are so attentive. Good variety of food and plenty of it. Service was excellent and in particular Alex in the over 16s Relax pool area works tirelessly to ensure all guests had drinks and anything else needed. A real gent.

Booked and traveling as a single mum with my daughter. Arriving on a late night flight at 1am, I found my room door would not lock, balcony or front door, aircon not working and fridge warm, wires hanging out. We asked for food and water and were told no, all inclusive has finished and I would need to walk to the shop or wait until the morning. The night manager came and could not fix the lock on the door and said that I would need to wait until the morning "don't worry about locking the door, it's a safe hotel". As a woman on her own with a child, I felt unsafe, vulnerable and did not sleep at all. The front door was eventually fixed, however the balcony door remains faulty, we are on the 3rd floor so unlikely any one could get in via the balcony, however the noise from the karaoke bars on the road below went on until 1am each night and even with ear plugs I have not slept before 2am for 10 nights. Still the hotel refused to move my room. The room looks nothing like the pictures, there is a renovated part and apparently we were in the "old" rooms, which is not advertised on TUI website. On arrival the beds had no duvet/ top sheet, just only what can be described as some kind of itchy towel,and I had to request sheets/duvet the next day. Pools and restaurants are overcrowded, packed in like sardines around the pool. The evening meal service is busier than Manchester central station at rush hour, we ate out so much just to get out of the hotel, spending additional money that should not have been needed. The only positives were the restaurant staff who work so hard, and the food which when you can sit quietly enough and enjoy it, is amazing quality. We requested a late complimentary check out as our flight home is 2am, and given we lost the first 2 days of the holiday with room problems, to only be told no, only if you pay £90 for it! Disgraceful- honestly save your money and book elsewhere!

We went to the adult pool (16+) to relax as all the kids had left school. the pool is quiet. if there is children they get asked to leave if they are under 16. One thing i will continuously stand by is that Alex -at the relax bar inside the adult pool- is amazing. So friendly, always takes care of you and always jokes around. He’s honestly the sweetest. If you are a family and have kids over (16+) I would definitely recommend the Adult pool. Not only is it quieter. More relaxing but obviously you have Alex who is honestly amazing!!!
