Being run as a family business for over 20 year, this friendly-hotel prides itself on providing memorable holiday experiences and having guests returning year after year. Its simply furnished, air-conditioned rooms are equipped with all the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay, plus private balconies that open to lovely views of Hisaronu. The beautiful garden of the venue is a great place for a relaxed evening coffee, while the outdoor pool is where one can find respite in the warm days and work on that healthy tan. The town's shops, cafe bars and restaurants are just a 2-minute walk away and the hotel is on the way to the ghost village of Kayakoy which is well worth a visit, while the beautiful blue lagoon at Oludeniz is 4 km away. For those who enjoy markets, the town of Fethiye is 10 km and has a weekly farmers market as well as a lovely waterfront promenade.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I stayed at Hotel Tolay with my two children, aged 3 and 9, and unfortunately the holiday was extremely stressful and disappointing.
From the moment we arrived, there were problems. After travelling overnight with two young children, we had to wait several hours for our room. When I raised this with the manager, I was told, in effect, to go to another hotel if I didn’t like it. Similar responses made me feel uncomfortable and afraid to keep raising issues.
Our room was dirty when we arrived and we were placed in the old block on the top floor with no lift, despite travelling alone with two children and a pram.
There were also serious maintenance and safety issues. The toilet panel repeatedly fell off despite being reported and supposedly fixed. The shower leaked, leaving the tiled bathroom floor extremely wet and slippery, and both of my children fell onto the hard floor. The air conditioning also leaked water onto the tiled balcony, creating another dangerous slip hazard.
The pool appeared dirty and unhygienic. During the stay my 3-year-old developed an ear infection and I developed spots on my face. I cannot say these were caused by the hotel, but they added to our concerns.
For much of the holiday we also had to use facilities at another hotel, despite paying to stay at Hotel Tolay.
I complained repeatedly throughout the holiday, both directly to the hotel and to Thomas Cook On Holiday Support, and repeatedly asked to be moved to another hotel. Unfortunately, this did not happen.
I was travelling alone with two children with additional needs, and the constant problems, uncertainty and safety concerns caused significant distress and completely affected our enjoyment of what should have been a relaxing family holiday.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel for families, particularly families with young children or additional needs. He only is nice to the guests that come every year he is a bully the owner kept telling me to go to another hotel when I was alone with two children awful experience
It was a very bad experience i booked a double bedroom the give me two single even though it was my honeymoon they told me no availability , not so clean the bathroom have bad smells and the same food for breakfast but fethiye is nice i don’t recommend it at all
Beautiful hotel , food amazing, brilliant staff rooms very clean such a good hotel I’m definitely coming back every year
Only good thing about this hotel is the location to the strip. Guests are so clicky, most have been coming for years. Owner only interested in these guests. Unless you’re sat around drinking & putting money in the till owner had no interest in you.
Had the best two weeks as always !! Tolga and family cannot do enough for you. The rooms are spotless and with the new refurb they look amazing.
The hotel is close enough to the town with a short two minute walk to get to the nightlife and restaurants which is brilliant.
The food as always was excellent especially the chicken wrap and homemade chips 😉 xx Clean towels every day and rooms spotless.
You Walk in as strangers and walk out as family . Can’t wait to come back in September !!
