On arrival was surprised this was classed as four star id give this hotel a low three , it’s in need of some decor. But after settling in and meeting the staff I was happy. Room was nice a little tired to be fair but was clean. Downfalls I was there a week and not one change of sheets . I went half board and the evening menu was faultless. Breakfast was great always something available for most needs especially if you like egg, being a continental menu was great to try Turkish breakfast dishes that I thoroughly enjoyed . Hotel provides free buses for most locations but you need to book a return yourself nit overly expensive. Staff all men apart from cooks and cleaners were very good . All in all I had a fabulous time at ocean blue and would return . Thankyou for the memories
Back to Turkey for the first time in nine years, and we couldn’t have picked a better hotel or location. Easy walking distance to the bars/restaurants, but far enough away from the noise of the town to get a good nights sleep. They also have a fantastic spa facility. But the absolute highlight of the holiday was the Ocean Blues staff. Aguerro, Oscar, Raifat, Istima, (sorry if I have spelt your names wrong!), were all an absolute credit to the hotel, as were all the staff whose names we didnt get. Everyone was super friendly, with Aguerro creating a fantastic atmosphere in the bar area in the evening, where both he and Oscar would take time to come and chat. A definite 10/10 for all the staff, thank you for making the holiday so memorable.
Writing this review for some balance as the 5* reviews are misleading. This is not a 4* hotel, maybe once in its heyday. I understand hotels are rated differently country by country, but Jet2 rating this hotel 4* is ridiculous. This is not an awful hotel, but it’s distinctly average and the very positive reviews lead to disappointment. Hotel is tired and dated, especially the rooms with dirty and peeling wallpaper. There is very limited storage, only 1 small drawer each in a bedside table, no other drawers in the room. Zero soundproofing, our room was opposite the fun fair and communal bins, the former finishes around midnight but the noise from the latter continues through the night. The Cristal Lounge next door also has very loud music. This wouldn’t be an issue if the room had normal soundproofing. By the time we managed to fall asleep, we’d then be woken by call to prayers around 0530, some soundproofing would have helped, we didn’t expect silence in a busy resort. Breakfast is the usual fare, you can order fresh eggs and pancakes, you are not told about this and we only realised after 3 days. None of the staff in the restaurant speak to you or offer any information. Staff overall are ok, wasn’t particularly impressed with the maids, they never cleaned the sink, the floors or the tea/coffee area and then asked for a tip. We didn’t need our towels replacing everyday but they were, bed linen wasn’t changed during the week.
Some positives; excellent air conditioning which you don’t need to pay for, beds were very comfortable, two good supermarkets opposite the hotel, and comfortable sun loungers with mattresses. The pool does get busy with towels being left on beds for most of the day, but the terrace above the bar always has available beds. Location is very good, if you don’t mind the noise, and well located for the dolmus.
Would recommend visiting Babadag cable car, and having a drink in the restaurant, whilst watching the parasailers launching themselves off the mountain at 1800m. We visited Seahorse beach club, take advantage of the pick up and drop off shuttle which is included in the entrance price, otherwise it’s expensive at around £12 each. Food was average, but the lagoon location was absolutely beautiful. You can message them directly on Instagram or the hotel can arrange for you. We did two trips through Jet2/MTS, the Saklıkent Gorge and Tlos ruins and the Dalyan Boat trip (beautiful loggerhead turtles). Both were great, you will need waterproof shoes for the gorge and sensible shoes for the ruins. Jet2 do not tell you this but luckily we were wearing trainers and we bought waterproof shoes for around £3 at the gorge. Our guide Murat was fabulous. We also really enjoyed the Glamour Girls drag show at Talk of the Town.
On our last day we took the dolmus to downtown Fethiye, and walked to the marina. Was nice to see a Turkish city, without being hassled and no fake goods shops! We’ve visited this area twice now, so we wouldn’t return to Fethiye but we will return to Turkey.
We stayed in original part of hotel. Rooms could do with an update, curtains don't fit, lumpy pillows, but clean. Breakfast is basic, never enough bowls, had to ask every morning, no matter what time we ate.Staff sweet and polite,but no common sense. Reception is good, helpful,and professional. We didn't use the pool, but the music was so loud in the afternoon we couldn't hear each other speak. Overall, lovely location and staff.
I was disappointed stayed here last year 2025 I thought it was lovely could not say a bad word but this year staff were different a lot didn't know what they were doing felt we did not get time to finish our meals drinks etc before they took away circling the table waiting for us to finish. My room wasn't cleaned properly in the 2 weeks I was there not once was my toilet cleaned dirty chipped mugs left in room. Last year I went alone room was fine this year same size room not really big enough for 2 of us. The food at pool bar was very disappointing again last year great, this year not good must have new cook, hard to get sunbeds most days so yes all in all we were all disappointed 😞
