This is my third time at Sensatori Akra Fethiye, my parents have stayed here a total of 7 times and it really pains me to leave this review.
This hotel used to set the bar for hotels that I stayed at, anywhere I stayed was judged to the incredibly high standards this hotel USED to hold.
My partner and I arrived 3 days ago after months of me hyping how good this place was. If anything changes I will be first to come back and amend this review however the standards seem to have dropped..
Firstly, the pro’s. The room is very clean and the house keeper is making sure the room continues to be incredibly clean.
The grounds continue to be well looked after and maintained so the property in itself still looks beautiful.
The check in process was fast and very helpful, answered any questions we had!
The bar staff, they always serve with a smile and any order never seems to be a hassle for them!
The cons
The food quality seems to have dipped significantly, my partner and I are foodies and the quality of the food on offer at breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main buffet restaurant does not meet the standard that I know this hotel is capable of. The food is cold and any meats are usually very over done- chewy and dry, yet somehow also cold! We had the Oktoberfest festival today and the rotisserie chicken was somehow so dry it was a struggle to actually swallow. This is incredibly disappointing as the food standard at this hotel used to be incredible. There also seems to be an issue with the flow of the main buffet restaurant as there are long queues just to get near any of the hot section food. This never used to be the case. For a positive comment the Basilico lunch is still pretty good and does most of the heavy lifting if looking for good food at lunch.
The bar service at the adult pool. I am unsure what you have to do to be included as part of the select club that are treated to poolside drink service, as the waiters seemed ask and bring drinks to almost everyone except My partner and I. Not once have they even came Round and asked what we would like whilst they actively visited most other people around the pool.
The smoking round the adult pool is also a major issue, we stayed at Sensatori Atlantic’s dreams last year and they had a specific area for people to lie by the pool and smoke as they please. However, here there is no such restriction and we have been inhaling smoke from other people regardless of where we sit around the pool as well as outdoor food areas. If you aren’t a fan of smoke or have asthma this isn’t ideal as I have found myself struggling to breath and ruins what little flavour the food had to begin with.
I don’t know if the high standards I was used to previously have just been adopted by the Residence next door and regular Akra Fethiye has been left to become a 3 * regular hotel in Turkey, which is incredibly disappointing considering the very high price point it still requires.
Stayed in many top hotels all over the world, Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, Moon Palace Cancun, kos 5* last year. Never thought Moon Palace could be beaten. Tui Sensory Akra blows them out the water. From arrival with hot cloths and champagne, to every little detail they have got it right at this hotel. Last at turkey 10 years ago Marmaras green nature something , hotel was ok, but everyone stood looking for tips, shops wouldn't let you leave. Wow has turkey changed, none of that. Actually, maybe be good if hotel put little boxes at different areas so people could drop a thankyou in for staff. As too many are brilliant, can't tip them all, what a credit they are and should be so proud of themselves and this hotel !! Food to die for , won't pick one over other all good, any criticism is solely to try help, because just book this hotel great. felt Turkish a la carte can't start with 4 large dough bread, not right too filling, should have chilli symbols at meals as people don't know how hot they are. Also, no signs to show where it was? or the Newman bar whatever it was called was up there too? Would be good with a notice board, instead of having to constantly look at an app, but feel they like it more exclusive. Can't really fault anything else all great, maybe more tables under cover for the BBQ beer party which was brilliant, just so many people couldn't find tables out of the sun, staff with a tray was no use, they need help with trolleys to pick up plates, and turn tables around more quickly. Beach area maybe some kind of heavy duty non slip mat to cross over stones to the sand below the water, this way stones could be swept off every day. Entertainment was good, but bit repetitive at piano bar with same singers although good, not great same every other night. Surely more effort could swap them around tui hotels, or involve other hotel chains, would help all hotels have fresh entertainment singers every night. Only mentioned maybe silly things that I felt could help the hotel. As thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, hotel and staff are second to none. Best hotel yet, book it. Will be back thanks.
Just came back from a fantastic two weeks here. This was our second stay and can safely say it was every bit as good as our last stay. We were in the adults only area of the hotel.
I really just wanted to leave a quick review to credit the staff at this hotel, they really make this place what it is.
Just to quick give a shout out to Isa in the main restaurant who couldn’t do enough for us, made us so welcome and was so helpful. And by the adults pool both Hakan & Koray were amazing, worked so hard and went above and beyond. A real credit to the hotel. (Apologies if I’ve misspelt anyone’s names!)
Would also like to give a lot of credit to all the staff in the Neoman bar upstairs, absolutely brilliant cocktails and great service. Unfortunately I didn’t get the barman or waitresses names but they were excellent.
One minor complaint, we didn’t love the smoking by the pool. I don’t know how you’d fix that, maybe smoking areas or only smoking at the adult pool bar, I don’t know.
We’ll definitely be back!
We had a lovely holiday here, we’re a young couple and chose here for a week of just pure ease and relaxation. Transfer from hotel was only 45 mins and check in super quick! We had a swim up room, we loved this and had afternoon sun on our terrace which was great. We spent all our time at the adults only pool, really great, quiet, bar was really good. They bring iced coffees round in the mornings. Beach was lovely, not the best beach we’ve been to but was still good. Can order drinks through QR code on your parasols so didn’t even have to move! Only con is the bar on the beach doesn’t open until 11am. Again they come round with iced coffees in the morning and cocktails in the afternoons - nice touch. The adults only bar on the rooftop was great, knew our orders by the end of the week. We went every night, sometimes had chilled live music as well. We preferred here to the beach bar as there is no table service at the beach bar and sometimes a queue for drinks. À la cartes were all really good! Breakfast at the buffet was good, service was sometimes a little slow but nothing major. Evening food was always good as well! We had lunch twice at the sunset beach bar, food wasn’t great I could’ve made it better myself so we chose to eat at the Italian for lunch most days as it was really nice there! Really liked that all drinks are all inclusive, there’s no menu where you have to choose all inclusive cocktails, except for bottles of wine. As a Hugo spritz lover I appreciated this. Mini bar in room was stocked as well with soft drinks and a beer.
Overall we had a lovely holiday, would definitely come back. The little points I have highlighted didn’t impact our holiday and we still had a lovely time! Would definitely recommend.
