Sea view room “upgrade” ruined our 25th anniversary — hotel denies documented noise
We booked Sensatori Akra Fethiye for our 25th wedding anniversary and paid extra for a sea view room. Within hours of arriving, we discovered the sea view rooms sit directly between the main hotel and its sister property, The Residence — meaning guests get hit with entertainment noise from both sides. The walls are so (cheap) paper thin it sounds like the show is happening inside the room.
I sent staff two separate videos as proof, recorded at different times. I was first told there was no entertainment running at that time — which was false. After escalating, management then claimed their own checks found “no unusual or disruptive level of noise,” directly contradicting the recordings I provided.
Given there was no fix for the noise in a sea view room, I asked to move to their adult-only sister hotel, The Residence, as a fair swap. I was quoted £2,200 to do this. When I then asked whether I could move there for free, since this was their problem to resolve, I was told there was no availability. So the same room becomes available the moment I’m willing to pay £2,200, but isn’t available when it’s the hotel’s own noise issue being fixed at no cost to me. The only other alternative offered was a swim-up room with no sea view — trading one problem for mosquitoes, and losing the feature I’d already paid for. Management did arrange a nice anniversary setup once they noticed the occasion — a kind gesture, but it doesn’t fix a room you can’t sleep or relax in. When I asked again what could be done, I was told to “enjoy your holiday or please see your rep.”
Food, drink, and the general hotel are good, but drinks are self-serve with queuing — not what I’d expect from a “luxury” property. I’ve stayed at Titanic, Concorde, Liberty, Rixos, and Regnum in Turkey, and customer service at all of them was better than this.
A beautiful hotel let down by a known structural noise issue in its sea view rooms, and a management team unwilling to properly resolve it. If you want peace and quiet on your holiday, this isn’t the room category to book. I will upload videos in due course
We're currently staying here, and this is our first visit to this hotel. You can really feel the huge effort put in by the entire hotel team. Our stay has been all about cleanliness, comfort, and cosy vibes — plus there are some really interesting activities on offer. The comfort is evident in every little detail; everything is so well thought out for the guests. This holiday has definitely left a lasting impression — we'd love to come back, and we absolutely will. Thank you to Judith and her team for the lovely events — they'll stay in our memories for a long time. One small suggestion: as a tourist, la love it if the evening events had a touch of Turkish flair — Turkish music and dances would be amaising.
Just returned from a lovely family holiday, myself and my husband stayed 11 nights with our two children, 10 and 13 years. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and it is down to the staff who work so hard to make your stay the best it can be. The hotel is very clean and is well run, the grounds are beautiful and very well maintained by the grounds staff. Our room was cleaned every day and restocked with all the essentials. A huge thank you to the entertainment team, including Amy, Tom, Jakob, Libby, Yim, Mia and Alisha. We thoroughly enjoyed all the shows, we enjoyed taking part in quiz storm each night and winning one of the ‘TUI Vuitton’ bags was a highlight. We thought the entertainment was of very high quality and enjoyed the mix of in house and external shows. The singing was a particular highlight. The entertainment team went out of their way to engage with us and the children and ensure we had a good time. We also loved the food and drink. The main buffet in the restaurant was varied and lots of choice. We all enjoyed the three à la carte restaurants too, with food and service of a very high standard. It was nice to have the choice of the Basilico and Sunset restaurants for lunch as well as the snack bar and coffee shops which kept things varied. My daughter loved the milk shakes at the ice cream shop and we enjoyed coffee and cakes at the Başka ol. The cocktails set this hotel apart from other all inclusive we have been too. Everything made properly in front of you with care and professionalism - you can also request cocktails and mocktails not on the menu. The bar staff work hard - we were lucky enough to take part in the cocktail mixology class and it makes you realise the work that goes into each cocktail. Thank you for providing the class, it was excellent and the teacher, whose name I have forgotten, was brilliant. I joined in several of the exercise classes, I particularly enjoyed the aqua aerobics/dance class as well as functional fitness and the partner yoga. Massive thank you to Rihad, Bailes, Kate and team who work hard to make the classes enjoyable and effective, having to be so flexible as class sizes and abilities varied. My son also enjoyed the teen activities with Alan and Caria and we joined in the first Turkish dance class led by Hamjeet? Which was fun. My daughter was able to go to kids club and she thoroughly enjoyed it, by the end wanting to go several times a day. Big thank you to the Tui kids club staff who work really hard to engage with the children and make sure they have the best time. Izzy, Astrid, Jeyda, Esther, Caris, and all the other staff at the kids club. shout out to lzzy and astrid for doing the adventure which lily really liked.
We don’t usually return to the same hotel twice but I would definitely consider a return visit. There are a few improvements that would take this hotel to the next level and make it a real stand out. Release the activities on the app at a more sociable hour. They are released at midnight and I had to book popular activities such as the aqua boards, archery, cocktail mixology class and à la carte restaurants at the strike of midnight when released! My son was too old for kids club and did go along to some of the teen activities like teen archery and sports and did the tennis football and family football. What would be better for the 13- 16 year olds is for them to be able to join in with some of the exercise classes. I appreciate some of them will be off limits for safety reasons but a lot he could have done. This teen age group seems to fall through the gaps a little and the hotel need to decide if they are going to focus more on families or adults. At the moment it’s trying to do it all and the family facilities are a little cramped in Peak school holiday weeks and need a bit more thought. Open the waterslides for more than 4 hours a day. It’s not enough, particularly as the times they are open clashes with the times of the kids club. Lastly the restaurant gets very busy at breakfast and dinner times, we did have to queue. Perhaps offer an incentive for guests to come earlier or later in the evening as everyone hits the middle times. Also the theme nights in the main restaurant were at times slightly ambiguous. More could be done to make the dishes stand out and the theme more obvious, other hotels we’ve been to have had decorations up, served special drinks on entry and had for example chop sticks on the tables on Asian night and singing waiters as entertainment on Italian night. Those points aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to others. Thank you to everyone for making our holiday so enjoyable.
