This hotel may look a little underwhelming from the outside, but inside it’s clean, beautifully maintained and very impressive. We had a stunning sea view room, which was very well equipped with everything necessary for our stay. The resort has excellent facilities, a lovely atmosphere and plenty of repeat guests — always a good sign. It is VERY family-friendly resort with lots of facilities for children of all ages. There were a lot of babies, preschool toddlers and a few younger children at the resort during our stay. Food was generally very good. Breakfast and lunch in the main restaurant were varied and of a very high quality, Balbura snack restaurant was a great lunch option and the Indian à la carte was absolutely superb. The adult main restaurant “Myros”served generally good food, but over 10 nights the lack of menu rotation became noticeable. The patisserie was fantastic — dangerous, in the best possible way. For us, service was the main weakness. Myros could benefit from seating guests rather than people wandering around looking for a table, and service at the Apollon Bar at busy periods could be sometimes hit and miss. There was no waiter service at the beach, so regardless of whether you used the beach bar, small kiosk or trolley that parked up twice a day, you are required to get up and get your own drinks. The same applied at the evening show areas, meaning queues at the bar if you wanted a drink while watching the evening entertainment. Entertainment was generally very good, with some excellent singers and groups. The main theatre shows became a little repetitive after a few nights, but the after-show parties such as the Cappadocia party, were very well done. We particularly enjoyed the beach bar entertainment from around 5.30pm: a lovely way to wind down the day. Overall, Liberty Fabay is a beautiful resort with excellent food, facilities and atmosphere. However, only one à la carte meal included during a 10-night stay was disappointing, and service needs to be more consistent. A very good hotel with plenty to love — but with sharper service, more menu variety and extra à la carte options, it could be truly fabulous.
We've just got back from Fabay. It's a good hotel, and there was a lot we loved — but having stayed at Signa next door last October and had a fantastic time, I think the two are genuinely different experiences, and for us Signa came out ahead.
The hotel itself is beautiful — clean, tidy and very well kept. One thing that surprised us: I believe Fabay is actually the bigger of the two, yet it somehow feels smaller, and the layout is definitely more complicated to get your head around. At Signa everything felt easier to navigate.
The food was exactly what we hoped for. The main buffet was great and exactly what you'd expect from a family-friendly all-inclusive. Even when it was really wet and thundery and everyone was indoors, we could still find a table — there was plenty of room for everyone.
The one suggestion we'd make: the à la carte restaurants. It would be a real addition if, when the weather is particularly bad, they were offered at a discounted price, just to ease the flow on the main restaurant.
The lunch area by the pool was a great alternative too — open pretty much all day, with ice cream, pizza and kebabs, so you could eat poolside instead of heading to the main restaurant.
The staff were so lovely. A special shout-out to the kids club team — Sula, Eda and Sedef 🙌 you three made our daughter's holiday. We spent so much of our time there. There was a great soft play area, and we did bracelet making and painting; every day there was something new, which was fantastic.
The room and balcony were actually more spacious than last year's. We were on the side of the building, so at night you could sometimes hear deliveries coming in and out below us, from our hotel and next door. It didn't disturb us much, but I can imagine some people wouldn't love it. That said, we hardly spent any time in the room, so the location didn't bother us.
Our toddler loved the sandpits on the beach. If you're travelling with a little one these are brilliant — you can lie on your sunbed while they play in the sand to their heart's content.
The pools were our biggest disappointment. The main pool was absolutely freezing. We raised the temperature with the hotel on our second day and were told midweek that the pool was "being turned on." I understand EasyJet has now updated their website to include the dates when you can expect the pool to be heated, which will help future holidaymakers — because not being able to use the pool with a toddler, in Turkey, is really difficult. They do have a heated indoor pool, but I don't go to Turkey to stay inside. The toddler pool was slightly warmer, so we did spend some time in there — though with no slides or fountains, there wasn't much to keep a little one entertained.
And the pool rules took the fun out of it. We got told off by the lifeguards for splashing — and this was my two and a half year old splashing, nothing extreme. You're also not allowed to jump in, in any form. For a toddler, jumping into the water is the main thing she does on holiday, and that wasn't allowed either — not in the main pool, and not in the toddler pool. So the pool ended up feeling like the fun police were watching 😅 I completely understand lifeguards have a job to do, but you're on holiday and you want to have fun in the water.
Overall, a lovely stay with great food and friendly staff. The hotel was great — it was just a disappointment compared to our stay at Signa last year. I do think Signa is a bit more family-friendly, from what we found anyway.
We have stayed in fantastic hotels in Belek but the Liberty Fabay is half the price and matches what the dearer ones offer, great room, pools, restaurants and entertainment and the staff are fabulous but want to give a big shout to Kadir in the Apollon Bar who is so friendly and helpful and always remembers his customers, they hosted an Oktoberfest party in the afternoon and there was an amazing amount of food and drink and games for all ages, hopefully we will return next year.
Incredible hotel, it was a fantastic October break for the Educamus Tuition team.
The food was out of this world, the staff are on another level with their customer service and the events put on for guests were well thought-out and fun!
Having joined the facebook groups to gauge what the hotel is really like I feel that it not meet expectations. We normally stay at Rixos and will definitely be sticking to them. Im not sure if admins are linked to the hotel but it does feel that these groups are not giving balanced reviews and expectations were too high.
Positives: Very clean and plenty of space around the pool and always found a table at dinner. Patisserie was excellent as was the indian ala carte. Loved the fact they provide free baby water..one big worry was having to take a taxi to fethiye to get some so was a big relief that it is provided at no extra charge.
Negatives: Arrived very late and went straight to bed only to find that the pillow and duvet were bloodstained from previous guests. This really was such a bad first impression. Cleaner did apologise and we didnt hold it against her. She was great the rest of the stay.
minibar was not stocked properly..for a family room with 3 adults, for some reason he only gave us 4 fizzy drinks on a refill and although they refilled it once we complained it just felt a bit cheap.
seaview family room felt really small..cot was placed in a room with 2 single beds as the room with a double bed was quite cramped..probably could have configured it better (not much hotel can do now but it did feel abit claustrophobic). The view was really nice and it was relatively quiet although could still hear the music till late.
Staff: Most of the staff were lovely and friendly but a few did seem disinterested or tired..some guests were getting really good service at the same time that we felt we were being ignored. The bell boys and reception staff were lovely as were the chefs.
Food: was decent at main a la carte..always found something to eat. omelette guy was fab and friendly (apologies i didnt catch his name). The snack bar was ok but most of the stations shut at 4 and so we found that when our toddler had a nap we always missed out and whilst there was an adult sit down restaurant which was open we obviously couldnt have lunch there with a toddler..main restaurant times didnt work for us as it was too early after breakfast. Would have been good if snack bar stayed open until 5pm. That said we did manage to have a very tasty spicy chicken pizza here.
Entertainment was cancelled for a few days due to adverse weather and so was a bit boring as there wasnt really much else on..my 1.5 year old did love the pool but there werent any baby slides or anything other than other kids to really make it more fun. Pool temp was just about ok but really wasnt very warm. Did not stop us from enjoying it but would have felt even nicer if it was warmer.
Overall it wasn’t a bad holiday but there is alot of room for improvement especially with the price of the hotel.
