- Jasmin Beach Hotel

The hotel is located in Gumbet, approximately 800 metres from the centre and just 30 metres from the beach. The cosmopolitan resort of Bodrum, with its castle and the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, is approximately 3 km away. Guests will find shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife around 400 metres from the hotel. The complex consists of 2- and 3-storey white cube blocks, typical of the local style, set amidst well-maintained gardens. Pretty, brightly-coloured bougainvillea creep up the sides of the buildings in this popular apartment hotel. With 259 rooms in total, the establishment offers a rich variety of services and facilities. There is a choice of 3 outdoor pools and the hotel also has its own section of the sandy beach approximately 30 metres away where sun loungers and parasols can be hired. Guests are welcome to pamper themselves with a massage or SPA treatment.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
What can i say, loads! This hotel is amazing! Food is not to everyone's taste but everything i had was awesome! Staff are always happy to help here. Ann, what a wonderful woman she is! We didnt have any issues to sort out but if we did she would have had it sorted in a jiffy so please reach out if you have a problem, its the difference between a good holiday and a bad holiday and Ann will make it the best! We had Yusef and Mustafa down the restaurant always happy to help and advise on foods. Mehmet also in the main restaurant, fetching me water and juices and lagers top man! I cant remember everyone's name but they all were happy to help, especially with my pronoucing of my words when trying to talk turkish! Then we have the terrace! We spent a lot of time up here at the pool through the day, advantage staying next to the pool and terrace too! Amazing food up here, and Jimmy and Nigel are second to none! Very helpful made things perfect, small favours and information about where to go for what and best prices! Good company and conversation too! The biggest reason we come back is these 2 gents really are the best and their wee team! Will we be back? Hopefully this year end of September start of October and again next May meeting up with all our new friends!
As a single mum travelling alone with my 10-month-old daughter, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but overall I’d say Jasmin Beach Hotel is an average hotel that is made so much better by the wonderful people who work there.
Pros:
The staff were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond for both myself and my daughter. Travelling alone with a baby can be daunting, but they were always so friendly, kind and willing to help, which made a huge difference to our holiday.
A special mention has to go to Biray from the entertainment team. He was fantastic, always interacting with guests and creating a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the rest of the entertainment team didn’t seem to be around much or provide much entertainment.
The pool attendant (who we all affectionately called the “pool grandad” ❤️) was an absolute legend. Despite the language barrier, he was always helping everyone. He’d move sun loungers around so there was space for my daughter’s pram and was constantly making sure guests were looked after.
Anne was lovely, approachable and always happy to stop for a chat while helping with any issues. When our room wasn’t right, she sorted everything out quickly without any fuss.
The hairdresser was brilliant - incredibly skilled at blow dries - and the spa was fantastic too. The girls were so friendly, and the Turkish bath was one of the highlights of my holiday.
The hotel has stunning views and is in a great location, only around a 10-15 minute walk along the beach into Gümbet where there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
One thing I absolutely loved was that the hotel looks after the cats and turtles on site. They’re fed and cared for, and it was lovely to see as not many hotels make that effort.
Cons:
Sadly, the biggest disappointment was the food. It genuinely breaks my heart to say it because the restaurant staff work incredibly hard and long hours, but the food was repetitive and, on some occasions, undercooked.
I became extremely unwell for two days with severe sickness and diarrhoea. I was told it was “sunstroke”, but I knew it wasn’t. I actually used to work as a Guest Relations Representative in Turkey, so I know that’s often the explanation hotels are told to give when multiple guests become ill. I’ve had sunstroke before, and this was nothing like it. My stomach only settled once I stopped eating at the hotel and started eating out in Gümbet instead.
The Terrace Bar unfortunately served my 10-month-old daughter raw sausages that weren’t cooked through because the food had been rushed while she was upset and crying. I even said I’d happily wait another five minutes because I’d much rather know my child was eating safely than have her food rushed. I sent them back and ordered her bread instead.
Service at the rooftop terrace was also very slow on both occasions I ate there.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable and could really do with mattress toppers and nicer blankets.
Our first room was a disaster. The air conditioning didn’t work, it seemed to be full of mosquitoes, someone had somehow managed to remove the shower head from the bathroom… and it wasn’t even the room type I’d booked! Thankfully, Anne sorted everything out the next morning and moved us into a much nicer room that matched what I’d paid for (and even had a shower head attached! 😂).
The photographer is, in my opinion, very overpriced.
My only other criticism would be the hair salon pricing. There wasn’t a price list, so it felt like prices were made up as they went along, which didn’t seem very fair.
Overall:
The people at Jasmin Beach Hotel are what make this place. Every member of staff I met was kind, welcoming and made travelling alone with a baby feel much easier. Even the other guests were lovely.
If the hotel improved the food quality and invested in more comfortable beds, I’d genuinely consider coming back because everything else about our stay was enjoyable. A few improvements and this hotel could be a fantastic place to stay.
Wishing all the staff a wonderful season and to stay safe and well ✨🤍
Second time visiting this hotel.Great hotel with professional and respectful staff. Special mention to all the staff up at the Terrace Bar . Food up at the terrace bar is amazing and so is the hospitality. Pizza station , hotel liaison manager and photographers always friendly , polite and go above and beyond. Looking forward to our next visit :)
