Wouldn't recommend and 1st ever complaint

I felt this hotel had alot of issues mainly the training for the staff not being great at all they were all friendly just couldn't deal with situations which arose. Everything got brushed under the carpet illnesses and just general lack of knowledge. A guest arrived one day and threatened staff and other kids which resulted in the manger coming the next day and kicking him out but didn't really want to deal with other issues 1st trip away as a blended family and all just exhausted with the noise which never got dealt with. The food for all inclusive was not available throughout the whole day and the slides open basically when they wanted not a great holiday and plenty more issues but too much to write.

Lovely but lively family hotel

We stayed at Esra Hotel for 10 days in August. The hotel staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming, and nothing was ever too much trouble for them.

Room: We stayed in a family room overlooking the pool and water slides. Our room was on the second floor, directly above the bar. During the day, this wasn't an issue, but when the bar closed at 11pm, there was quite a bit of noise from downstairs. It didn't last too long, but it sometimes made it difficult to get my daughter to sleep. The room itself was very clean, and the air conditioning units appeared to be newly installed. However, the room could do with some updating, particularly the bathroom sink and the balcony doors.

Location: The hotel is about a 10–15 minute walk from the seafront, which isn't too bad. The funfair is also very close by.

Pool & Facilities: The hotel grounds were well maintained and clean. One of the biggest issues was the size and capacity of the pools compared to the number of guests. We visited in August, so we expected it to be busy. You needed to be up by around 6:30am to secure a good spot by the pool, or sometimes even a sunbed at all. By 7:30am, almost all of the sunbeds had been taken. If there was any space left, the pool staff were kind enough to try and fit you in at the back of the pool near the snack bar.

This is, of course, a common problem at many hotels during the summer, not just this one. However, the space around the pools was also quite narrow, and the pools themselves became extremely crowded, so you had to be especially careful with young children. The area surrounding the pool was also very slippery.

Entertainment: The entertainment was of good quality and offered a nice variety throughout the week. If you're staying for more than a week, however, it does become repetitive. There was a children's dance party every evening, which my daughter absolutely loved, although they played the same songs each night.

Food: Most of the food was delicious and of excellent quality. There was a great selection to suit everyone. Sunday evening featured a traditional roast dinner, and there was also a Turkish-themed night during our stay. Every day we were able to find something we enjoyed. The desserts were also very tasty, although they were sometimes very popular and there wasn't always enough to go around. One of the staff members, Neşe, was especially kind, and my daughter absolutely adored her.

Overall: Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at Esra Hotel. It is definitely a solid 3-star hotel, and the quality of the food exceeded our expectations. With a few updates and some small improvements, it could be even better. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lively, busy family hotel who doesn't mind crowds during peak season. Overall, you get very good value for the price you pay.

Thank you to everyone at Esra Hotel for a lovely 10-day holiday.

Avoid this hotel.

Where do I start. We only arrived home yesterday. Firstly I don't think this is a 3* maybe 2* if your lucky. The hotel needs a good upgrade. The 2 lifts they do have is very slow. The rooms need an upgrade. There is a wooden shelf above the bed. Which we kept hitting our head on. They put the single bed right under the A/C. Which in the end we asked to be changed. Because we couldn't use it, as our son got cold. There was mould in the grout in bathroom. The best one is late afternoon water would bubble up and out the toilet(room 235). The room was not cleaned every day. They didn't sweep the floor, as bits was left on the floor for over a week. We asked for a quiet room. We was right above the reception area and across from Sky bar. Buses coming in at 1am or 2am and the guest being noisy. The pool was ok. Apart from it closing every now and then. As children 💩 in the pool. As some was not wearing swimming pants and no signs asking them to be worn. The slides only opening for an hour 3 times a day. The entertainment team was not very good. They had the same entertainment every day. A young man called Alp was a very nice young man. The evening entertainment was of not of good standard. The same every week. Being singing acts and dancers. 3 singers that sang out of key. A Michael Jackson team which only did 3 Michael Jackson songs. The food was something else. The food was so bad. One night, I had chicken. It was pink and had blood in it. Most of the time, we had to go out. Ice cream is only served for 1 hour a day. Where I've been before it's served most of the day. Lots of people complaining about the food. We seen lots of Ubers coming in. Most of the staff was pleasant. Only a few went above and beyond. I don't know how people can give this a 5* review. We went because of the 5* reviews and now regret it

Very good value all inclusive

Just leaving the hotel and reading some of the reviews posted recently, we couldn't have had a different experience. OK the hotel is a little dated in decor but it's clean and welcoming. There were 5 of us, kids are 18,16 and 5. Firstly the room, good to get a room that comfortably sleeps 5. It was cleaned every day and the air con was great (it was up to 42 degrees whilst we were there). We spend a good deal of time at the pool and didn't go down to reserve our sunbeds until we got up at about 830. Always got three or 4 together but we prefer to be in the shade so perhaps that is it. Food was available most of the day by the pool and in the restaurant breakfast lunch and dinner. If you like grilled meats, salads etc it was great. One day there was a bbq and another had a Turkish theme. Tonight there was tandoori beef which was great. No issue getting drinks throughout the day. They do stop serving at 11 but that suited us. I think it must be like everywhere, it's not a 5 star hotel but our holiday was relatively cheap so on the basis of value I'm going to say it's excellent. Walk down the street opposite the sky bar for the nearest beach which is below a lovely local park and an outdoor theatre. Next to this is the funfair which was great and you can then walk down the hill to the main strip and altinkum beach. The evening entertainment was mostly dancing but it was good, maybe we were fortunate but our room was quiet through the stay. So in summary, it's not perfect but it is a good deal, the staff work hard to please and are very friendly and welcoming. Thank you Esra team, we had a good week away.

Fun holiday...friendliest staff I've ever come across

We had a great 10 days stay at Hotel Esra. We came as a family of 4 and i was feeling nervous about what to expect but I can honestly say we all had a fantastic time. First and foremost the Staff.....fantastic....in particular the restaurant team, head chef Ahmet was so friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble - he offered to make our boys different food if they couldn't find anything they liked in the restaurant- which was never a problem as honestly we found the fantastic.....yes there are random dishes occasionally which we would never choose but ALWAYS something delicious alongside them ....was some of the best all inclusive food we have had. The Restaurant team were truly fantastic and some of the kindest / friendliest people we have met, in particular Savas and Samet who would always come out of there way to say hello and chat with our boys about football and such like, Nese too was a true sweetheart and always took time to chat to us and make sure we were okay all of them are an absolute credit to the hotel. The poolside staff / bar staff were super helpful too , entertainment team were friendly , they try to get you involved but do not pester you at all if you don't fancy joining in, People did leave towels on the floor in position where they would like a sunbed...and the poolside staff would place the towels on the beds as they put the beds out ....i have never seen this before ...in mallorca last year any towells left on a bed for too were chucked in a towel bin let alone left on the floor...but to be fair it didn't seem to be an issue and did seem to work and kind of stopped the sunbed wars / sunbed race. I would usually wait with my towel until they came around as it felt to cheeky to just dump my towel down and leave.....getting up that bit earlier is the only way to get a sunbed where you would like...its no different anywhere else.....but i will say that at breakfast around 8.30 there were still plenty of empty sunbeds around the pool by the slides (probably more shaded) and the guys around the pool always helped people to get a bed if they came down later and squeezed them in somewhere. Truthfully its a busy hotel...out first few days seemed quieter and i could see it ramped up towards the end of our holiday....but it didn't ruin our stay....yes the main pool has music on and it can be pretty loud ....but not loud enough so that i couldn't read/relax we just embraced it and had a great time, The slides are on 3 times a day for an hour at a time which was more than enough, and although the ice cream was only served once a day i found this enough and served at the right time ad was delicious ice cream too. I did hear a couple of horror stories about a couple of the guests after we had left and yes on occasion it was a bit noisy down by the bar after all inclusive had stopped ....but usually all quiet after 12.30 / 1am...and nothing we couldn't sleep through but maybe that was because our room was over the other side from the bar. I can't comment on how management dealt with any problems as were were lucky enough not to have any. I think you have to remember that this is a 3 star hotel....yes the hotel is dated....but its kept very clean , food was amazing, drinks were great and the staff made our holiday....nothing was ever too much trouble. Yes there could be the odd noisy idiot knocking around occasionally about but i'm yet to have a holiday abroad without there being the odd muppet! If i had to describe our Esra holiday in one word it woud be 'Fun' we all had a great time, One last shout out to the photographer Selim....he was a lovely guy and caught some fantastic pictures of us all......its rare to get a picture of us all together and the ones he took were lovely. He was really friendly and you could have as many or few as you liked.
