TripAdvisor Review
Great hotel. Lots to do. Evening buffet a little mad !

When booking this hotel the reviews were not overly helpful so hoping this might help people if looking to book this hotel. Rooms We had a village suite room 4149. It was a fab room with two separate bedrooms and a huge bathroom with shower. Downside was it wasn’t a private balcony and was shared with another room although the room appeared to only be used for late checkouts so we pretty much had the balcony to ourselves most of the time. Air con was good. A little too cold in the twin bedroom but was welcome with the heat outside! Shower pressure also good. Sink water is an awful yellow/orange colour - so recommend brushing your teeth with bottled water!! Mini fridge is only topped up on day one. But after that we just got drinks from reception and bought them back for the fridge. Restaurants Main buffet restaurant is great for breakfast. Fresh omelettes and pancakes and so many pastries. We are early risers so getting to breakfast at 7/7.30 in the mornings was bliss as it was pretty empty until around 8.30ish. Lunch we tended to go to the snack bar for burgers / chips / wraps / pasta / pizza which was nice along with ice creams. We struggled with dinner. It’s every man for himself trying to get a table and the food choices are a little repetitive if you’re staying for two weeks but nice enough and plenty of choice if you can be bothered to queue and fight your way to the food options! You only get one à la carte choice which is poor as there are 4 to choose from. We went for the Italian but it was terrible. So rushed and didn’t feel special at all. Apparently the Asia restaurant is lovely but we couldn’t book it due to the one meal policy. Pool The main pool is freezing cold. We had to get up at 5.30am to get sunbeds for the four of us. But the entertainment / music and pool games were worth it for us getting up so early. The littler pools by the rooms are lovely and warm and nice if you want more of a chilled day, we also had a few late night swims at the little pools as well. The water park is fab. The blue and yellow slides are fast (be warned) but we had such a good time. We didn’t get beds in the water park as you had to queue from about 9.15 for when it opened at 10 so we just went there as and when we fancied and left our stuff by the main pool. Beach There was a lovely breeze at the beach and lots of sunbeds and shade. Beach is quite shingle and rocks into the sea so beach shoes deffo worth bringing. The water was so clear and calm and you can see lots of fish so recommend a snorkel. Also we always managed to get beds even at 8/9ish in the morning. Starbucks and waffles These are by the beach bar where the entertainment is in the evening. Lattes / iced coffees etc and the waffles with choc sauce were lovely and freshly cooked. The coffee at reception i personally preferred to the Starbucks and we used to get a nice coffee in the morning in takeaway cups to take to the pool or beach. Entertainment Evening entertainment was actually good. African acrobats / circus shows / Turkish dancers and the kids show was crazy and they threw out lots of inflatables into the crowd. Outside the resort There is a migra supermarket just left out of the hotel. It’s like a mini lidl and reasonably priced. We went into altinkum to eat on a few nights. Recommend My Eden and Pinocchios. We had chautibrand in both places and both come with a really awesome show when they serve it. Pinocchios was really fun with kids characters and dancing etc and a really big cocktail menu! Pinocchios picked us up and dropped us home from the hotel for free. The taxi to my Eden cost us 10 euro. We also went to the Aldente restaurant which is just to the right of the hotel beach for a full English one morning and a meal in the evening I had salon filet and kids had burgers and hubby had a t bone which was also lovely. We didn’t try the cabanas as they aren’t on the beach they are on a grassy area that overlooks the sea but they looked nice and were 50 euros to rent for the day. Overall we had a fab holiday. Apart from the sunbed situation and madness of the evening buffet we loved it the weather was beautiful. We had a few days of wind but it didn’t ruin the holiday and the entertainment team were all amazing.

Poor hotel

This is the worst hotel for sunbed wars ever!!! Not enough beds in the sun. Causing absolute chaos. You need to be up at 5am to get a decent spot. Sunbeds empty until around 11am because of selfish people! Staff not removing towels.

Food is mediocre really repetitive. And it's carnage In the restaurant.

Poor hotel in my opinion definitely would not return.

Mini fridge in the room not filled up apart from 1st day.

We had a fair few cockroaches In our room.

Some staff are lovely but if your not tipping constantly good luck!

Guest relations girl with big pumped up lips is in the wrong job.

Beware of check out day that's horrendous. The having to use the spa to get showers, simply not enough showers. Angry bloke with a terrible attitude. No shampoo or shower gel left. Told people to get washed with conditioner. No towels. He tried to put us in a shower room with another family!

I would not recommend this hotel.

An honest review

We recently stayed at Duja Didim and, unfortunately, although there were some positives, overall we found the resort far too overcrowded and this really affected our enjoyment of the holiday. The biggest issue for us was the sheer number of people at the resort. The main restaurant was extremely busy, and it was difficult to enjoy meals with the amount of people constantly trying to find tables and get food. It often felt more like trying to get through an airport than being on holiday. The pool areas were also incredibly busy. To have any realistic chance of getting a sunbed around the main pool, I was getting up at 5am every morning to reserve one. That's not how you want to start a relaxing holiday. One thing families should definitely be aware of before booking is the rules around the main water slides. Children under 7 are not allowed to use the main slides, and armbands are not permitted on them. This means children using the slides need to be confident swimmers, as the water at the bottom is around 120cm deep. We weren't fully aware of how restrictive this would be before travelling, so it's definitely something I'd recommend parents check beforehand. There were, however, some things we really liked. The room cleaning was excellent and our room was cleaned thoroughly every day, which was very impressive. The on-site Starbucks was also a great addition and something we used regularly. The beach is beautiful and was probably one of our favourite parts of the resort. We also tried the à la carte restaurant. It was okay, but we were disappointed that the children's meals were essentially brought out from the buffet rather than being part of the à la carte experience. We also wouldn't recommend venturing into Didim town without checking prices carefully first. We ate at places including Pinocchio's and Topkapi and found the prices extremely expensive. One meal for six people (four adults and two children) came to around £350, and that was just mains and a few drinks each. We felt this was completely excessive and certainly something to be aware of if you're planning to eat out. Overall, Duja Didim has some lovely features — the beach, clean rooms and Starbucks were definite positives — but for us, the overcrowding was the biggest problem and unfortunately overshadowed the good parts of the holiday. If you're looking for a relaxing resort where you can easily find a sunbed, enjoy a peaceful meal and make full use of the facilities with younger children, I'd recommend looking carefully at the resort's capacity and the restrictions on the slides before booking.

A great family holiday!

A great family holiday - good food, staff are brilliant and very attentive and the kids loved the on site waterpark. Also very easy to visit Altinkum, would definitely recommend.
