We stayed at Paloma Perissia at the end of June for a week, as a couple, we chose this hotel as we stayed at Paloma Oceana which we absolutely loved.
There are a lot of positives about Paloma Perissia but also a lot of negatives. The hotel is 30 years old and is looking dated for a 5* Tui Platinum
The journey to the hotel by coach was around 1 hour 10 mins. The man at reception was quite cold (unlike the reception staff during the day who were outstanding). The reception was impressive with air conditioning, although a little dark due to the middle wooden decoration.
After checking in, we made our own way up to the room and walked into an oven, the room did not have any air con on and smelt very damp. We immediately put our key in the wall to start the air con which took around 12 hours for the room to cool down, and the damp smell did disappear. The room was quite dark and the floor did not feel like it had been cleaned as my feet were full of dust and hair. We left the key in to make sure that the room stayed cool.
We awoke in the morning to a gorgeous pool and sea view. The bathroom was tidy, the towels were very thin, toilet roll holder silver lid also looked worn. A couple of the tiles in the shower had been plugged with white stuff, which you would have expected to have been replaced, the room had lots of hanging space, cupboards, drawers and a safe. Not a very luxurious room, no pictures just lots of wood in the room, could do with a refurb. Or room was cleaned every day by the lovely cleaner.
The restaurant buffet was amazing, lots of variety, although samey, no themed nights, there was someone behind the salad bar making different salads. The waiters could not be more accommodating and are very friendly.
The pool area is large, with a large freeform pool, with part of it cordoned off for children a second smaller pool and a pool area for children with slides. You can collect Pool towels, but these are just as thin and worn. Around the main pool were 2 lifeguards on duty all day. Waiters also come round to take your drink order so no need to go to the bar. There is fitness in the pool every day, from pool bikes to trampolines to aqua fit and are lots of other activities going on throughout the day.
There is a bar near the beach, which is lovely and chilled, and a bar by the pool, the gardens are well kept and always looked pristine. Pathways are always tidy and clean.
Not all the hotel has air conditioning. The corridors outside the rooms are not and in places look tired, some corridors are tiled and others are carpeted but not very well, corners of the carpet sticking up (carpet tiles) so looked shabby. There were a few dark brown chairs in the corridors that looked old.
Reception is on level 4, which is street level, there is a shop on this level which sells all sorts plus if you walk further along, there is a small collection of vintage cars. Level 2 is the buffet restaurant, there is a lovely bar on this level where you can sit out on the balcony, also a couple of shops, leather and jewellery shop and a hairdressers, Level 1 has the patisserie bakery and the way out to the pool, the indoor pool, gym, changing rooms and Spa.
There is entertainment in the evening towards the back of the hotel, which was very good.
At the back of the hotel there is a pathway by the beach which you can walk along, this is a lovely walk. The hotel also looks after cats, so you will see a few of them around on the path at night, not so much during the day.
On the day we left, we used the indoor pool changing rooms which had 2 showers, one of the showers was so hot and could not make it cooler, luckily the second shower was free. I then used one of the towels which was just as worn but the room was so hot I could not get myself dry, and it was quite hard to breathe.
The hotel is off the beaten track, so no shops directly outside the hotel, we did venture out to the shops which took about 15 mins along a dirt track, it was hard work due to how hot it was, the shops had air conditioning.
Our Tui coach picked us up at 5pm to go back to the airport, we arrived at 7.30pm, it did state it would take 1 hour 40 mins. Antalya airport has doubled in size and not very organised. We checked the board to see which gate we needed to check in, went to the gate and it was another airline, we were advised to go to the information desk who told us it was the correct desk but only opened at 8pm. The Tannoy’s are very loud and feels as if they are shouting.
We had a great holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it but will not be going back.
Hotel brilliant every worker so friendly especially Baran is so good we have great time thank you everyone
Excellent hotel, situated by the beach, well equipped and well staffed, rooms are well maintained and spacious . The service staff are excellent, especially Murat keeping us well hydrated around the pool bar which is very much appreciated. The pools are great In condition and size and there are so many food options everyone will be satisfied. Thank you
We had a fantastic stay at Paulina Perissia. The hotel is welcoming and spacious, and the facilities are excellent. The Pools are brilliant and it doesn’t feel overcrowded. The beach area is great too with a private area so you can always get a sunbed. The kids loved the Poly kids club for older kids with PS5’s and Computers and Pool and table football. Being air conditioned they found this a welcome break from the heat. The food and restaurant choice was great, the main buffet had a great selection although is limited for children if they are fussy however ours were happy to try lots. The Wabi Sabi restaurant was excellent. The Quentines was nice in the evening but was a great place for lunch if you wanted to avoid the Buffet. The entertainment area and stage was a great facility and the evening shows were good, although got a little “samey” after 2 weeks. And could have done with a little more entertainment and more variation. The bars were excellent and service was great. We used the Bistro bar everyday and the staff were great, attentive and the choices of drinks and snacks were excellent. Ramazan and Kubra who worked in the Bistro bar were amazing, always offering drinks. Making up unique drinks for us and the kids and were really friendly. Amazing service. Murat was the waiter on Pool drinks service nearly every day during our stay. He was brilliant, continually taking drinks orders, he was friendly and welcoming all the time and it was a brilliant service. The hotel was extremely clean and we couldn’t fault anything about it. The SPA area was great, and even the hotel gym was a good facility which I used on a few occasions. It was well kept and had more than enough equipment for a good gym session. Lastly the hotel rooms, they were always clean and tidy and the staff were brilliant in keeping them that way. Staff were friendly and attentive. The only thing to mention about the room is it lacked storage in the term of drawers I. The room area and needed more coat hangars in the cupboard as there are not enough for a family of four for two weeks. The bathroom was a good size and walk in shower was good although the shower itself was fairly weak and could be better. But this is being picky.
The guest reception and guest relations staff were excellent, friendly and helpful at all times and the water park was amazing. It was a 10 minute drive to a sister hotel which was easily booked and you could go as many times as you liked. It was great fun and kids really enjoyed this facility.
A taxi to Side old town was easy with taxis outside the front gate and a set price to town of 10 euros which was good. The town was amazing.
Overall we had a great stay here and would certainly recommend it to others.
Thank you to all the hotel staff.
Had a fabulous time at the mini disco, entertainers were fab and full of energy. Kids loved it ‘
