Recently stayed at Kaya Side Hotel and after many holidays in Turkey staying at 5 star resorts I can safely say this is not 5 Star.

First night we arrived our room was not made up so we had to wait for a cot before putting our youngest to bed. Whilst waiting, a maintenance guy entered our room with tools wanting to do work which was not a "5 star" service given it was 10:30 at night and we had a crying baby. 

Hotel is dated and is needing some tlc all over, with numerous broken tiles down the corridors for children to catch themselves on. Cleanliness also wasn't up to scratch and domestic staff didn't give off that friendly vibe. 

There's an army of staff that go around the ground first thing picking up litter, this wouldn't be needed if there were bins to put litter in in the first place. Also found that there were a lot of cleaning jobs that could of been done late at night or early in the morning whilst nobody was about instead they are done during the day which I feel was only done to attract tips. Certain cleaning jobs shouldn't be seen in a "luxury hotel". It gives off we forgot to do this last night look. I will say however the pool toilets were probably one of the cleanest areas of the hotel, used them all day long and constantly felt clean. 

Reception staff were quite poor. I felt like they just wanted you to go away instead of trying to help with any issues. 

Food was okay for the kids but there's only so much you can eat the same thing. Previous hotels I've stayed in really went all out on themed nights, this hotel seemed to just change the music. 

Good points were the young waiter in the restaurant   think his name was Mehmet, he was exceptional! Great work ethic and super at making all feel welcome.

The pool guy and the beach guy were also great, having a laugh with the kids and assisting when needed. 

Overall we have had a pleasant time and most importantly the kids have enjoyed it as there has been plenty of entertainment for them but this is not 5 star! 

Improvements needed with hotel and staff attitudes for this to ever be considered 5 star.

Okay but not 5 Star. 

Spent 2 weeks at this hotel and we all had a great time  all the staff work very had abd the place is kept very clean .we had a room overlooking the pool which was very nice with good air con ..The WiFi  worked great in most places around the hotel and  grounds ..The food was typical all inclusive food  but there was always something nice on the menu..the pool snacks bar was very good the lunchtime...The entertainment in the evening was OK with a couple of professional singers/bands on ..This hotel is mainly German and Polish...we were one of 2 groups from the UK but overall we couldn't fault the place and the weather was wonderful

Good 2 weeks in the sun

Very nice hotel. Nice staff. Thank you, bar guys and restaurant waiters. And a very spical thank you for Hassan the pool boy. We had a very nice time there.

Just home from a fantastic holiday here at kaya side.
Was a last minute decision for my daughter and i to travel for this holiday but I am so glad we did.
The hotel was lovely and provided a relaxed atmosphere around the pools.
Being October the pools were cold this time of year but very big pools and lots of sunloungers, the beach was beautiful and a great place to relax in the daytime and good for swimming. Food was ok, always something but repeated we stayed 1 week.
Staff were friendly throughout the hotel.
Special thanks to Emerhan(not sure if this is correct i hope so) who works in the beach bar in the evenings. He made us feel so welcome from the 1st evening of our holiday such a kind and hard working person, always happy.
Rooms were spacious and clean.
We watched some of the shows in the evening they were ok, and my daughter loved the foam party and also the bubble fest. Overall was a nice place to stay and a great atmosphere .

Great holiday

This lovely hotel really DOES deserve its 5 star rating. The hotel building itself and its extensive mature gardens and extensive sandy beach...aswell as several huge pools ...is so much nicer than so many of its more recent and overlarge competitors, and the rooms generous and well equipped. Also the huge range of delicious food on offer all through the day in its main restaurant and poolside restaurant (plus poolside bar) make this a fantastic holiday hotel to relax at and eat well...especially on an all inclusive deal. Also...the staff are all very friendly, and were happy yo move our room to an even better sea view when they could. Also, the cheap bus into Side Old and New town (20 mins) stops right outside the hotel and is frequent, and the old town with its old Grecian ruins and pretty shops and restaurants and bars well worth visiting. Prices in Turkey are rising, but it is still a great value destination and Kiya Side Hotel the best place to stay !! Jon and Lee Morgan.
