Located by the beach and only 3 km from the centre of Side, this family-friendly hotel comprises a total of 379 units spread over 3-4 floors. Set in spacious grounds which feature a large outdoor pool and landscaped gardens, the hotel has many facilities including its own beach, on-site shops and entertainment programme.
Just got back from nine nights here on a second visit. Cannot rate the hotel and staff highly enough. Fatma gets a special mention for looking after my room so nicely and being able to choose the scent of the room was wonderful.
I have one tiny negative that when a light panel fell from the ceiling it took three phone calls to get someone to come up and no-one checked if it had hit me - it hadn't so maybe this was a given as i didn't mention it. It was then assessed but when the maintenance guy fixed it he was lovely, informative about what he was doing, checked if i was okay and fixed the problem swiftly.
Thank you also to the two princesses who run the mini disco - they were both lovely
This was our first visit to the hotel as a family of 4 with 2 boys, 14 and 11. We would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone.
Loads of great things: All the staff are amazing - fast, efficient and friendly Great food in all the different places, we loved the Burger Bar, Patisserie and Olive Restaurant Fab activities in the pool such as waterpolo and water based activities for fitness Fun slides Short walk into Side harbour Drinks served to your sunbed - including delicious cocktails Great air conned rooms with restocked mini bar A variety of evening entertainment
We hope to visit again one day.
We have just returned from a two week stay again at my wife's 'happy place' and it was another fabulous Holiday at the heavenly Hemera. This time we were mob handed 20 of us in total, 11 adults and 9 young adults for two weeks, reducing to 12 for the second week. As per the hotel rooms were comfortable, clean and well equipped. We had a couple of celebrations whilst there and the hotel booked us a la carte meals, and got a table for 20 on each occasion. Vural in Guest services is fabulous a very accommodating, and knew how special the holiday was to us ( as we had recommended the hotel to all our friends). Thank you Vural for all your help. As usual the food was excellent, drinks a plenty and Yunus at the Quiet pool, looked after us, and is an asset to the team. The young lad who was a trainee in the Italian was doing a sterling job. The ladies doing Boccia were great from the entertainment team, and we introduced some of our friends to the game!
Our friends loved the coffee shop and just wished it was open a bit earlier.
My only comment from our stay this year, was that on two occasions we went down for dinner in the main restaurant nearer to nine o'clock, and the staff were starting to pack away at 9.30. The restaurant is advertised as open until 9.30, so if anyone was coming in nearer that time, they'd find a lot of stuff packed away. It didn't impact us really, as we were at that point on puddings, but if you are going to go later, bare that in mind.
in addition to Vural, Ummu and Margo on front desk were particualrly helpful surrounding some lost property and a payment issue we had ( our travel company) not the hotels fault, and helped resolved the matter. Unfortunately, the lost property never materialised, but nothing was ever too much trouble.
I am looking forward to returning again ( hopefully next year for a short break) but we'll see.
If you're thinking of going, do it! you won't be disappointed.
The hotel itself is beatiful. It’s not the usual block of flats surrounded by nothing, there’s in fact lot of green. Trees, shrubs, flowers, herbs, grass etc… Matched with soft lights, those will give you an unmatchable atmosphere in the evening.
If you’ll check the nearby resorts you will quickly understand how green and well maintained the Hemera is.
Moreover, it’s located by the promenade and the beach. Gazebos by the beach can be rented for a more “vip” experience as champagne and fruits are included. Yes, it’s located by the promenade but it’s not a “short stroll” to the harbour as other reviews mentioned. It’s a solid 40 minutes walk otherwise a 9 minutes ride by taxi.
If you’re not a “beach person” the pool are big and well maintained. Cleaned every night with slides available. There is a quiet pool if you want a more chilled experience.
Rooms are a reasonable size and cleaned every day.
The food at the main buffet restaurant is really good with chefs constantly grilling outside stuff like shish kebabs, doners, koftas, lamb chops etc… On the other hand we found really hard to try the a la carte restaurants as they are constantly fully booked. You really have to take what’s available.
Overall an amazing experience. Some little things to improve. Few reviews picked up that there is smell of sewage in some areas and we, unfortunately, experienced it. The toilet in the patisserie was really smelly in the early morning as well as the area by the water refillers nearby the playground. The block with the rooms starting with 15 was affected too with smell coming on and off from the bathroom.
I think it’s a bigger problem triggered by the heath that can’t be simply solved by reporting it room by room. Management needs now to dig into it properly as it’s been mentioned few times now.
Other than that the hotel is near perfection.
We recently visited Barut Hamera for the 3rd time spending 10 amazing days at this wonderful hotel. We rarely return to the same place, but as a family we couldn't fault anything and all came away very sad to ve leaving. This really is, in my opinion a 5 star resort. The quality of the facilities, food and drink are excellent. But what really sets it apart are the staff. They work tirelessly to make sure the grounds are immaculate, the communal areas are kept tidy and the waiting staff honestly can't do enough. A few to mention Gaye- pool bar waitress, who remembered us from last year and was always so lovely and attentive. Özge- lobby bar waitress. Every evening before dinner we would go for a drink and she always greeted us with a smile and was always happy to make drink recommendations when we asked. My children really liked her, and the rainbow cocktails she brought them 😊 Ganna- buffet waitress. Welcomed us every morning and knew what we wanted to drink. The gentleman that puts all the sunbed umbrellas up (sorry I didnt get his name) was so lovely and we always had a joke with him in the mornings as he never knew whether we want our umbrella up or not. Lovely man. Also the lovely lady who looked after us, mainly by the pool bar but also at the beach bar. She was so cheery and always made sure our glasses were never empty! A lovely 10 day stay. We very much hope to return one day 🙏
