Ali Bey Resort

We recently returned from a 7 night stay at Ali Bey. Am giving this a 3* rating. Remember this is only my opinion from mine and my families experience. You could go tomorrow and have a very different experience. The positives:

• The family room was great. 2 good size bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. Great aircon, rooms cleaned each day very well.
• Food in general was pretty good. Main buffet restaurant was nice and good selection. Loved the fact you could eat clean, quality meat, fish each lunch and dinner
• service at the bars were fast and friendly.
• cocktails were excellent.
• drinks out of nice glasses
• aqua park was v good. Kids loved it.
• Gin bar on beach is amazing.
• beach is beautiful.
• Pools were nice. We stayed at main pool most nights.

The Negatives

• 1.5hrs from Antalya airport.
• service at main buffet restaurant is very poor. Friendly enough but take too long to ask you for drinks, too long to clear tables. Often sat at tables with no cutlery and would take too long for anyone to bring new cutlery over.
• Other than your room, reception (8 min walk from pool areas), buffet restaurant there’s no air con bars or seating areas. Ie if you just want to get out the heat, chill out, have a drink in a cool environment for an hour or so there’s no where indoors to go.
• evening entertainment was poor IMO. Again all outdoors so evenings can get v sweaty. We like live music singing English songs - very little of this. Their Main theatre performances were just not our thing.
• I’d say the hotel guests are approx 80-85% German and Russian. Had no issues with them. Just personal preference is to be around more British or English speaking families/guests.
• only 1 free à la cart restaurant which is the Turkish restaurant. Very disappointed. Food was probably not as good as buffet restaurant. Can only have beer or raki or soft drinks for free. If you want wine or Spirits with your meal you have to pay for it. I think this is terrible. My partner doesn’t like beer or raki so felt unfair.
• gym is a bit underwhelming. Not the worst gym but for a ‘Fitness First’ I expected better.
• Buffet Restaurant gets super busy. Some occasions had to wait 10 mins + for a table. Also often had to wait 10+ mins for fresh meat to be replenished as they kept running out.

These are the main points. Overall whilst our kids enjoyed it which is the main thing we have stayed at much better All inclusive hotels in Turkey. We likely wouldn’t return mainly due to evening entertainment, just poor experience in restaurants and zero air con bars.

Turkey! This was, without a doubt, the best holiday we have ever had. Staying at Ali Bey Resort Sorgun completely made us fall in love with Turkey, and we would go back again in a heartbeat! From the moment we arrived, everything was flawless: The Resort & Rooms: The hotel itself is stunning and impeccably maintained. Our room was unbelievably clean, spacious, and came equipped with a fantastic free branded minibar that was regularly refreshed. The Food: Absolutely impeccable! The variety and quality exceeded every expectation. From fresh sushi to massive pieces of fresh honeycomb at breakfast, there was always something incredible to try. Having so many different restaurants to choose from was a huge plus—especially the dedicated ice cream and dessert parlour! The Staff & Vibe: The team here is wonderful. The staff were so amazing, attentive, and friendly that there was never a dull day. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay special. Perks & Convenience: Even the shop on-site was very reasonably priced, which is so rare for a luxury resort. Everything about this holiday was 10/10. If you are considering booking a stay here, don't hesitate—you will have an unforgettable time!

We had a wonderful holiday at Ali Bey Resort Sorgun. The territory is huge and well maintained. It is like a botanical garden with various plants and trees, you just want to go and take photos of everything! The room we got was spacious and clean. However, when we booked the holiday, we asked to be put in a certain block, but when we arrived, we got to know that we got a room at the very far of the hotel which we did not like at all since you have to walk a long distance to the pools, restaurant, beach, etc. if you don't wait for shuttle services, which fortunately can be asked by whatsapp but it would be much better if shuttle services had a fixed time when they were going somewhere. There is a wide selection of pools, however, if you come after breakfast, you won't find a free place. The same happens with the beach - if you want to get a sunbed on the first line, you have to wake up early to put your towel on, which we have never done at any other hotel but in this hotel it seemed like the only solution if you want a better spot... But overall the beach was clean, the beach umbrellas were great to sit in the shade, all in sand and not a single pebble which was truly wonderful. The food was delicious and various, although for an elite hotel we missed shrimps and seafood in general. A big compliment to the dessert chef as unlike in other hotels, the desserts looked different and they tasted different, whereas in other hotels we have visited they look different but they taste the same. The Amalfi Beach bar was our favorite spot, the guys working there are all amazing and the atmosphere was wonderful there. We didn't have a chance to enjoy evening entertainment to the fullest - it was impossible to breathe in the amphitheater because it was so humid and the wall was blocking the wind, which made it difficult to stay during the whole show. We saw people with portable ventilators trying to help themselves breathe as it was literally too humid and hot to stay in the amphitheater. All in all, we would definitely come back to the hotel but not during summer as it was so humid and hot we couldn't enjoy everything, so we would definitely be back in May or October.
