Sherwood Exclusive Lara

We booked via Jet2holidays flight from Gatwick. Was a decent time arrived 8th August around 11pm. Check-in at Sherwood was a bit of a let down. Nobody to help us in, no bell service perhaps due to the time.

First impressions were not great looked like a Turkish family were arguing with staff on arrival, all reception staff were dealing with them and getting a full blasting. Felt sorry for the staff but did get checked separately on the side by an elderly gentleman. Unfortunately there was no Information given about timings restaurant locations or any room assistant for room checkin as the other family took all the attention. We were only given 1 room card no towel cards as they had none left, was told to come back in the morning, where was informed card had to be made and they again at 2pm when we did get our towel cards and extra room card.

Arriving 11pm no information from staff was a bit rough didn't settle well with me, we had room 2504 found it ourselves then went exploring for food. That was a bit of a shock again finding the small cafe serving food but take a seat and someone was able to come over and take a order. There is no grab and go food here, which would be useful especially with kids.

Room was ok would have been better if was given 2 double beds but we had 1 double, a single and a sofa bed which was not comfortable at all. Room cleaning service was good, and fridge refilled our bathroom door however would not lock which was jammed.

Locations wise about 25mins from the airport amazing, malls are outside the property. The whole property is 1 resort own private beach, lots of pools lots of space even with a full hotel with 450 rooms , we found space in all the pools. Considering this was summer holidays there was plenty of space on site, beautiful to walk around.

Resort was beautiful, there is a patisserie, ice-cream parlour. Pranzo bar you need your phone so you need a qr code to book food which is odd since everyone is in water.

There is a amphitheater nice to look at where the shows take place but soo uncomfortable, difficult to walk around large steps and not safe with children especially in the dark. The night shows were the usual at all resorts nothing great however we were there for a night where they did a live concert which was great performances however not enough seating and difficult for drinks service. The other issue was it was in the grass and lots of mosquitos. There were also alot of bats near the trees at night, something needs doing about that..

Food was bland. It was different every night and there was lots of seating available we never had difficulty finding a table for breakfast lunch or dinner. Breakfast was missing poached eggs, cereals were limited selections bland no taste but cheap and the kids enjoyed their chips. Kids area was same food every night chips and nuggets which were cold and hard. Sourdough pizza was good that a saviour for us.

The beach was ok it's like sharp sand but needs to be maintained by staff often cups and rubbish left around.

The resort is nice the staff if not busy with disgruntled visitors are good had conversations with a few who mentioned how busy it was and that they had to do multiple jobs on site.

If you can get the deal for family of 4 under £3k for 7 days including flights is ok. Anything more like we paid and you want better service.

Really good hotel, food and facilities are nice. Shower in room was only issue but all in all for the cost this is a good option.

The room was big enough, with very comfy beds. The air con was needed, and welcome. The staff were excellent, and couldn't do enough to help. Mehmet in the restaurant was great. Some of them didn't speak excellent English, but it was a lot better than my Turkish! The rooms and common areas were very clean too, and staff continually came around to remove dirty glasses from around the pool. The pools were quite warm towards the end of the day (a bit like swimming in soup) but the waterpark pool was always cold. The slides at the waterpark were great, too. My little boy spent hours there. The food was excellent and there was always a huge amount of choice. Lots of different places to eat, with different cuisines on offer. The gözleme "hut" was perfect for lunch. Huge choice of drinks (avoid the white wine) including international brands, but sometimes the cocktails were "interesting" to say the least! The beachfront pier was an amazing place to sit and have a drink, and watch the sun set. Overall, a great week.
