Limak Lara De Luxe Hotel and Resort

Lovely location on Lara as usual, absolutely overwhelming that many people there , getting pushed by Turkish men to get to food before you , disgusting I thought, staff absolutely wonderful especially alesha in the bar , room ok got upgraded to family room as there was 7 of us and I am half Turkish, it was the lack of zero drinks there especially as am diabetic definitely not a 5 star only 4 I would say food was lovely but always cold

I went to this hotel for a week away with my family, please bear in mind, this is my only holiday of the year. I look forward to my holidays very much as I work hard all year, so as you can imagine I was particularly disappointed that this hotel despite not ruining my holiday, did everything in its power to do so.

When I arrived I was greeted well with a friendly welcome and nice drink. I thought to myself, ‘I think this is going to be a nice hotel’, how wrong could I be! Most of the staff cannot speak a word of english. However generally the bar staff, and staff in general at the hotel seem to take a preference towards the ‘local’ crowd. They would be served at the bar first often in-front of women and children. My 9 year old daughter had to stand at the bar for over ten minutes whilst the bar staff ignored her to serve the men. This happened on a few occasions and with other children.

I felt generally slightly unwelcome in the hotel due to the service of staff but also the general energy that I got from the guests. There is a lot of shoving and general lack of etiquette particularly from a large proportion of the guests in the buffet area and generally around or in the lifts.

The food was ok if you like Turkish cuisine, however whilst there is some offering of non Turkish cuisine, it is generally of poor quality. However, I quite liked the Turkish food. Certainly there was a lack of choice for children. Staff numbers are clearly lacking during meal times, we had to clean our own tables most of the nights. Floors are really dirty in the restaurant, generally it’s not a nice eating experience.

The drinks in the hotel are particularly poor. In particular the wine, and general offering of drinks is very poor. I found myself struggling to decide what drink to order because after trying them all over the first 2 days I couldn’t think of one I wanted to drink again. Really poor quality.

The entertainment team were pretty good, however my only real engagement with them was their daily harassment of me to buy bingo tickets. So I eventually obliged, buying €30 worth. My thinking was that if everyone put this amount into the pot, it would make for some decent prizes, however the prizes turned out to be a free game of bowling. Which incidentally cost me less than €30 and I don’t win anyway.

The rooms itself was pretty good and kept clean. The beach is pretty nice and the pools are nice and plentyful.

In summary, the main issue I had was this hotel doesn’t feel like an all inclusive. There are various unnecessary ways the hotel has come up with to try and get more money out of your pocket. I think if they focused less on this, and providing a better service to guests instead it could actually be a nice hotel. But it isn’t.

Just got back from a weeks holiday

The place is absolutely huge, lots of pools, shops on site and plenty of bars, it’s much bigger than it looks and is basically a small village, you don’t really need to leave, the beach is on site with watersports

The bars serve branded Coca Cola, Sprite glass bottles, branded Bailey’s etc under all inclusive which is the first all inclusive holiday I’ve been on to do this

The staff were friendly enough and rooms were cleaned well daily

Entertainment is brilliant with something going on every evening, beach party was very good

There’s a nurse on site which as a family we had to visit twice, a doctor is called within an hour (even at night) exceptional service

The queuing at bars does get slightly difficult where the locals/regulars try and push to the front, the staff did try and stop this and told them to go to the back

All in all it’s clean, the food is good (albeit a little repetitive but all inclusive always is) plenty of food for vegans and vegetarians (they have their own section) and the staff are helpful enough, the place is buzzing and always something to do
