General view

Spent 1 week at Grand Park Lara, 23-30 October 2024, together with my teenage daughter. 

Good Points:
1. Food is very good, very large selection for the adventurous and conservative alike. Plenty of simple food for kids. Huge selection of cakes and desserts. Food always hot.
2. Food available 24 hours a day, with decent selection of hot food in the 24 hour restaurant.
3. Very active kids club (Under 12), lots for them to do all day.
4. Water slides and 4 pools (in late October the big pool was freezing cold - the sea was warmer), but there is a good heated pool (which was very busy of course)
5. Most people like the evening entertainment, although it was a bit short, although the performers were very professional.
6. Staff friendly and always working to help and keep the place clean.
7. Decent gym, 7 running machines, all in good condition, other exercise machines and weights - never crowded (in October at least)

Not so good points:
1. Evening entertainment was very repetitive - 6 nights pretty much similar dance troups - 1 night was a singing group who were excellent
2. Nothing organised for teenagers, especially in the evening there was no place for them to gather and meet, so they just stayed with their families - this was a pity as there were lots of teenagers there.
3. Not the fault of the hotel, but given the number of bedrooms, there is just about enough sun beds for October when it is not full. I cannot imagine how crowded it gets in August and the stress around sun beds.
4. Again not the fault of the hotel, but people's behaviour in the main restaurant was sometimes appealing - pushing & shoving, skipping queues, and taking way too much food, leaving half of it behind - the waste in general is phenomenal.
5. Our room was a bit dated, needed some work done as bits of bathroom furniture was loose and potentially dangerous - maybe just an end of season thing that gets sorted during off-season maintenance

Overall a good place for a lazy holiday, and especially if you have small kids. And to the right of the hotel is a street full of shopping malls where you can get the ubiquitous football shirts and other clothes are ridiculous prices. Localls all quite nice and friendly.

Looking at so many 5 stars makes me a little suspicious, but that's just me. To be honest, for what we paid, we can't really complain too much. Location great, room was a good size (family room),  2 bedrooms, (Great when snoring an issue!), everything worked, decent view... No problem finding a sun bed up to about 10am. Entertainment ok, (but it almost always involved "boom boom/thud thud night clubby type music, gets a bit same-ish!). Drinks and service quite good, sauna/steam room great. Those are the (fairly) positive things. The big issue with this hotel is size/number of guests relative to available space. There are about 8 "blocks" with I believe 9 floors of 16 rooms. (You do the maths). There are 2 main restaurants, and whatever time we went for dinner, it was bedlam!! Queuing for food, dodging in and out of hundreds of other guests, sometimes struggling to find a table. It was like rush hour in Piccadilly circus! We chose to get in, grab something we liked, and get out. If management can sort out the dining issue, then this wouldn't be a bad hotel at all!

we love this hotel so much 😍😍😍 food is amazing!! yhere is one testaurant that is open 24/7 and it is amazing. my kids loved the pools so much. there is a heated pool and it is fun. there is so many activities that you can do. we nevet got bored. 😋😍

Champagne on arrival and then down hill from there.
We had to Change the  rooms around as the single beds were in the living room. As for the balcony, 2 chairs and a table and it was full, not even enough room for two people. 
Don't expect the mini bar to be topped up every day, once every 3 days, with water, juice and the odd coke , and enough coffee for two cups.

As for food in the hotel , the main restaurant is like a cattle market , went there once and never again , people were so rude pushing and shoving, you swear they hadn't eaten for days, the bar food was better in the day but closed at 5pm , the 24 hour restaurant served just the basic .
Don't expect a choice of fish or even a full English breakfast as they are not included in the all exclusive.
One of the outlets did offer lovely jacket potatoes, went the the next day only to find it closed , 1st November and they start closing things down without warning.
Entertainment wise , very good if your were German , and I got sick of the same songs every night.
