Swandor Hotels and Resorts Kemer

This hotel/resort is truely out this world. Rooms: pros/very comfortable (we had a duplex room). Excellent air con. Fridge refreshed daily. Rooms are cleaned every day as far as we could tell as beds were made. Both rooms have a fully equipped en-suite with some lovely freebies of toiletries etc Cons; only one we felt might be is the stairs leading to upper area. They are not the easiest as they turn and some are quite narrow so if you have young children or are unsteady on your feet I’d be careful. Another point is the double bed is downstairs and the twins are upstairs. With the door closed downstairs , you cannot hear anything happening upstairs. This might be a pro or a con depending on your situation 😃

Food: you could eat from 7am until 9pm constantly and not try every food on the menu. The food was plentiful, fresh and tasty. People have commented that it is repetitive but if you really look you can eat something different every meal. Desserts range from fruit to gateaux to Turkish dessert. Something for everyone but no ice cream. Only complaint is you can easily get lost when you go the buffet. There are many different saloons within the building with no clear markers which is which and after exploring the buffet you can easily get turned around and lose your bearings. But this is very tongue in cheek complaint. Also as a Brit we queue but found that some people don’t. 😬 There are a couple of other food areas such as the snack bar (serves pasta, burgers, chips etc) and the patisserie where you can get coffee, cakes and ice cream (only open in afternoons) One thing to know is there is no food around the pool area. Drinks are fine but they don’t allow you to remove food from the restaurants. Facilities -two pools (both 140cms deep) pool floats etc are allowed. We had no problem getting sunbeds every day tho umbrellas were a little tricky sometimes. Towels are provided by the pool. Entertainment - most of the shows are dance/acrobatic based but have different themes. Our favourite was Furiousa Mad Max. Getting a good view of the stage can be tricky as there are numerous trees through out the area which block views at times. We found going to the area around 7.45-8.30 meant you could usually get a good seat but there are people who will ‘reserve’ tables before going for dinner. The ‘pier’- while lovely, the beds fill up very quickly there. We went down at 8am once and couldn’t find a bed anywhere. So stayed by the pools mostly. The water park is great but when we were there an accident happened and they said children had to be accompanied by an adult but that might have changed again as our child didn’t go on them much because of this. (Too old to want an adult with them but too young to go alone IYKYK) All in all we would highly recommend Swandor Kemer.

Extremely disappointing experience

We arrived at the hotel after midnight, despite having our reservations confirmed and in place since 2:00 PM. We were travelling as two families with four children and expected a smooth and safe check-in.

Unfortunately, we were allocated rooms in two completely separate buildings, which made the stay very inconvenient for two families travelling together. Even more concerning, one family was placed in a duplex with two beds located on separate floors. During the night, one of the children nearly fell down the stairs because the stairs were extremely slippery and presented an obvious safety risk.

When we raised both concerns with reception, instead of offering an appropriate solution or addressing the safety issue, we were simply offered the option to downgrade the room. This was not an acceptable solution, particularly given that the room had already been booked and paid for, and the problem was with the allocation and safety of the accommodation—not something we had requested or caused.

Another disappointing aspect was the attitude of the receptionist. When we tried to communicate in English or Russian, the receptionist continued speaking Turkish, despite us making it clear that we could not communicate effectively in Turkish. This came across as disrespectful and made an already stressful situation even worse.

For a hotel accommodating families, guest safety, communication and basic customer service should be priorities. We expected much better, especially considering our reservations had been made well in advance.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. The hotel management should seriously review its room allocation, stair safety and staff approach to international guests.
