Swandor Hotels and Resorts Kemer

I have never written a review, let alone a negative one, but our stay at this Hotel was so disappointing. We stayed at Swandor Kemer between 31 August and 8 September 2026. 

On arrival the reception looked hotel lovely. We were shown to our room. The room was small and basic in comparison to other 4/5* accommodation we have visited in the Antalya region.

There were only 6 wooden hangers in the wardrobe, and 1 pillow each. There were no spares, as normal, in the wardrobes.  

The next morning we went to Guest Services and asked for additional hangers and pillows. Hangers were received. However, the pillows we were given were the decorative cushions stuffed into pillow slips. I again returned to Guest Services to ask for this to be recrified and proper pillows supplied. This was eventually done a few hours later.

After a day at the pool we discovered that the latch on the patio door of our ground floor accommodation didn't lock properly. We went back to Guest Relations, and to say that their "service" was poor would be an understatement. Between handymen, Night Managers and Security they tried to tell myself and my Husband there was no issue. However, when we insisted on comparing it to another room it was very apparent there was a problem. Fast forward nearly 24 HOURS and following input from our fabulous Jet2 rep, Stephanie, we had a resolution with an additional lock being added.

Later in the holiday (our last day), we came back to the room and I noted that 1 of our pillows had been removed from our room. I was shocked (but sadly not surprised), that housekeeping had replaced it with a pile of sheets under the pillow!!

Food was mediocre and repetitive. The main restaurant was overcrowded and poorly designed. They were under staffed and tables were left not cleared for prolonged periods. We had to go to the small bar every night as there were no staff available to ask for drinks.

We spent a lot of time out on the pier which was lovely, until a Russian lady hit my Husband's feet demanding the empty sunbed was "mine mine". She went to complain to Security and Customer Relations who came to speak to him. "Towel Wars" to the extreme!!

Daytime entertainment was poor. The staff came to the pool twice a day to do a dance for a couple of minutes. They looked bored and unmotivatated. Certainly the worst "Animation Team" I have ever seen along the Antalya coast.

Thankfully, the staged evening entertainment was excellent. To be able to get a table without the restricted view, behind a tree, you had to be in the auditorium about 1 hour before the show. Again they were understaffed and the majority of the time we went to the bar ourselves. The one time I did ask for a beer and a Morgans and coke the waitress clearly didn't understand, and I am still waiting ... 

The "Party Nights" and the exploitation and sexualisation of the female "dancers" was truly awful. Again, the were bored and certainly looked like they didn't want to be there. 

There are certainly more negatives than positives to this hotel. Too many to mention in a review.

Certainly marketed towards the Eastern European/Russian market. 

Customer Relations, Services and housekeeping certainly have a lot of work to do to bring them upto the standard expected.

Kiris, Kemer and the surrounding areas are beautiful, but please think seriously before booking the Swandor Kemer Hotel.

This is the first time I have ever felt the need to write a negative hotel review. My family and I have stayed at many resorts in Turkey, Greece, Cyprus and Spain, and we have generally been very happy with our holidays. Unfortunately, our stay at Swandor Hotels & Resorts Kiriş was far from what we expected.

The hotel looks impressive in the photos, but the reality is quite different. The resort is extremely crowded, and the overall atmosphere often feels more like an overcrowded holiday complex than a 5-star resort. There are simply too many people for the facilities available.

The service was another major disappointment. Many employees speak very limited English, making communication unnecessarily difficult. We also experienced a general lack of service-mindedness. At times, it felt as though the hotel was primarily catering to its very large Russian-speaking guest population. The combination of the sheer number of Russian guests and the atmosphere this created made the holiday less comfortable for us and our family. This is not about nationality itself, but about the overall guest mix and the way the hotel seemed to accommodate it.

If a hotel markets itself as five-star, then the food, cleanliness, service and staff should reflect that standard. Unfortunately, they did not.

When we arrived, there was already hair in the shower. The food was also a major disappointment. The selection felt extremely repetitive, and throughout the week it often seemed like we were being served the same dishes over and over again. At times, it even felt as though food was being reheated and served again. Once you had tasted the food on one day, you could more or less expect the same experience throughout the rest of the week.

The entertainment team, which is presented as one of the hotel's strengths, was at best average. We have stayed at several other resorts in Turkey with significantly better entertainment and activities.

Another issue is the use of glassware around the pool. Some guests may see it as a positive that drinks are served in real glasses rather than plastic. In our opinion, this is a poor combination with a crowded pool area and guests consuming significant amounts of alcohol. Glasses were regularly broken around the pool and, worryingly, in the pool itself. This creates an entirely unnecessary safety risk. The lifeguards didn't seem to care at all, mostly looking at their phones.

The beach was also nothing special. The pier was almost impossible to get space on because there were simply too many guests and too few sunbeds. The beach itself is a pebble/stone beach and is uncomfortable to walk on. Turkey has plenty of much nicer beaches, and if beautiful beaches are a priority, we would personally choose Cyprus over this destination.

Overall, we simply cannot understand the extremely positive reviews this hotel receives. Perhaps the concept worked better in the past, but in our experience it no longer delivers what you would reasonably expect from a 5-star resort.

We went to Swandor Kiriş with high expectations, especially based on the photos and reviews. Unfortunately, the reality did not come close and we would definitely not return. My tip is to find another hotel in Side or Alanya. Much better prices and hotel standards and beaches.
