Rixos Sungate

It was our first stay in Rixos Sungate. We likedour quiet apartment with spacious rooms and sea view and mountains at the other side of the building. Service and guest relations were exceptionally good and we were overall satisfied. At a times it may get a bit busy in dining area, nevertheless it is all worth staying.

We had an incredible stay at Rixos Sungate! The setting between the mountains and the sea is stunning, but the exceptional team truly made our trip unforgettable. ​A special thank you to Amir from Guest Relations, who was absolute gold—incredibly helpful, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. To make our anniversary even more memorable, the resort went the extra mile and surprised us with a wonderful room upgrade! ​Highlights: ​Spa & Wellness: The spa facilities were fantastic and offered pure relaxation. ​Dining: Outstanding variety and high quality across all the restaurants. ​Atmosphere: Immaculate grounds, great pools, and superb service everywhere you turn. ​Rixos Sungate exceeded every expectation. During our third stay at Rixos Sungate, we tried Bloom and the Seafood Restaurant for the first time. Bloom made a wonderful first impression. The restaurant is exceptionally elegant, with beautiful interiors, a thoughtfully put-together menu and excellent cocktails. We particularly enjoyed the starters—the different varieties of hummus and the delicious bread were fantastic. The beef tenderloin was also very good, and the desserts were a real highlight. As a party of five, we had the chance to try every dessert on the menu, and all of them were absolutely delicious. There were a few aspects of our evening at Bloom that could have been better. Our scallop starters appeared noticeably smaller than those served at neighbouring tables—approximately a third of the size. Without that direct comparison, we would probably have assumed this was the standard portion, but the difference was striking. We also requested different cooking levels for our tenderloins, ranging from rare to well done, yet all appeared to arrive medium. The meat was still very tasty, but more attention to our individual preferences would have been appreciated. The service at Bloom did not quite match the standard of the food and surroundings. Used plates were often left on the table, and we were not regularly offered more drinks, so we went to the bar ourselves to request them. There was also an unfortunate incident during the main course. While reaching across the table to serve a dish, a waiter accidentally knocked over a glass of tea. Some spilled onto my trousers, but most landed on my daughter’s plate, soaking her potatoes and tenderloin. An apology was offered, which we appreciated, but her meal was not replaced. We felt that offering a fresh dish would have been the appropriate way to resolve the situation. The evening before, we had dinner at the Seafood Restaurant, which enjoys a beautiful location right by the sea. The food was very good here too, and the service made the evening particularly enjoyable. Everything felt attentive and effortless: whenever we looked up to ask for something, a waiter named Clint was already nearby to help. The table was kept clear throughout the meal, and drinks were replenished without us having to ask. Overall, we enjoyed discovering both restaurants. Bloom stood out for its elegant interiors, delicious starters and outstanding desserts, while the Seafood Restaurant offered a beautiful waterfront setting, very good food and attentive service throughout. A little more consistency and care at Bloom would make the experience even better.
