We had a really enjoyable stay at Numa Bay and there is a lot to praise. The staff work incredibly hard, the whole resort is kept very clean, and the beautiful grounds are clearly well maintained.
The entertainment team are fantastic and bring great energy to the hotel. The pool and waterslide facilities are excellent, and the beach is particularly nice for families with children. Dean and Victor in Guest Relations also deserve a special mention, as they were both brilliant.
We thought the food was generally good, especially the Avenue food, including the kebabs and waffles. The homemade flatbreads were delicious, as were the burgers from the Ali Baba restaurant. The onsite coffee shop was another big plus, especially as it offered oat milk. The ladies working there were absolutely lovely, and we genuinely looked forward to seeing them every day.
Our superior room was clean and comfortable, although fairly standard rather than luxurious.
In terms of the overall rating, we personally would not describe the hotel as a five-star property by UK standards. It felt closer to a four-star resort. The drinks were noticeably better in the main lobby and piano bars, but the cocktails elsewhere were quite basic and the choice was fairly limited.
It was also difficult to find genuinely cold bottled water, as the bottles from the fridges were usually warm. Another negative was the approach from the spa manager, as the persistent selling of treatments felt quite pushy and actually made us less inclined to book anything.
The biggest drawback for us was the main buffet restaurant. It was extremely busy, crowded and noisy, and at times felt more like a cattle market than a relaxing evening meal. I began to dread going there in the evenings and often filled up on food during the day instead.
With a few changes, we think the hotel could feel much more luxurious. Upgrading the sun loungers around the pool and beach would make a noticeable difference, as would providing cold bottled water throughout the day. Allowing guests two à la carte restaurant visits during a seven-night stay would also help reduce pressure on the buffet restaurant.
More premium toiletries, such as nicer hand soap and shampoo, would improve the rooms, and a better selection of ice lollies and ice creams would be very welcome—this was a particularly big disappointment for our daughter!
Overall, we had a good holiday and would like to emphasise how hardworking and friendly the staff are. There is plenty to enjoy at Numa Bay, and with a few thoughtful improvements, it could become an even better resort.
Just want to say how much me and my family have enjoyed our holiday at Numa Bay small hick up with our room at the start but all the staff couldn’t have done more to correct it. But from then on it’s been a different level from the food to the pools and entertainment there’s not much more you could ask for. For me one of the most helpful parts is they have two English members of staff called Dean and Lauren who have been excellent and made sure our holiday was perfect.
Hotel is lovely , buffet food is great , it’s clean and tidy , slides are great for the kids and adults I recommend the piano bar that’s on site , any English speaking guests that have any issues or concerns there’s an English speaking rep called dean he helped my family out and others we traveled with he’s a top bloke and made our stay at Numa bay trouble free.
Staff and environment were all amazing.
Dean from guest relationship has helped us greatly when needed help
