Nestled in the heart of Puerto De Santiago, this is an ideal spot from which to discover Tenerife. The hotel is 10 minutes from the impressive Los Gigantes cliffs. The hotel is ideal for families, offering marvellous views over the Atlantic Ocean and the Island of La Gomera. The excellent climate the island enjoys year-round has turned this into an extremely popular destination with holidaymakers.
Our review on a 10 night stay at Hotel Landmar as a family of 4, 3 adults and a 15 year old… We arrived late evening, the airport experience wasn’t great but wasn’t as bad as expected. We had a small minibus for our transfer and there was only 1 stop before ours so took about 40/45 minutes. There are fresh ham and cheese sandwiches, fruit, biscuits and drinks provided just round the corner from reception This hotel is huge but doesn’t feel overwhelmingly big and everything is pretty easy to find. The majority of the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the odd ones we found quite ignorant. The pools are amazing, so refreshing to get in to, they are heated but just enough to take the chill off in my opinion with was perfect. I would recommend taking your own refillable cups as the ones they provide don’t last and get soggy. We got a pack of 6 from amazon with lids, straws and straw covers for around £7 The sun beds were not an issue for us as we went down between 9:15 and 9:45 and always got 4 sun loungers together, but there were a lot of people who had put there’s down earlier and you didn’t see some of them all day which I think is very selfish. The staff didn’t move any towels before 10am as stated. The food was fine, plenty to choose from I think it’s standard all inclusive food, they did have a different theme each night which was nice and it was repeated each week. We had a visit to each Al a cart restaurants while we were there, bones was amazing, great, friendly and attractive staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Ciao was not so great, they brought the starters out at different times, and the food was bland, we also found the staff quite rude and not helpful. We stayed in the duplex apartment which was really nice to have extra space and an extra bathroom, the view of the sea was outstanding, so beautiful to look at that each morning. The cleaners work really hard, they clean the rooms daily, fill everything up and give fresh towels almost everyday, I think it was only 1 or 2 days out of 10 that they weren’t changed which was nice. You get a coffee machine and a kettle with everything you need to make tea or coffee. We booked a boat trip on one day, we went for Masca express for 2 hours which was great. The captain was so friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this. We also booked the Balinese beds 2 days which was really nice to do something different, great value for money. We didn’t notice anything different or that we would of missed out on from Landi upgrade, obviously you get the stuff in the room and the kids have there own buffet but that’s it as far as we could tell. (Again just my opinion) The alcoholic drinks were good, very strong but good, the bar staff were always lovely too. We would return and recommend this hotel as we had a really nice holiday and enjoyed the experience 😊 I will add some photos of the dolphins we saw on our trip and the view of the sea from the hotel Hope some people will find this helpful, I know the reviews helped us before coming
We’ve just got back from our family holiday here and all I can say is how amazing it was from start to finish. We went as a whole family, 11 of us in total. With 7 adults and 4 children, age 3, 7, 14 & 16. It’s a beautiful hotel, well kept and extremely clean, all staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s such a lovely chilled but fun atmosphere. I’ll start with the pool: there’s a number of pools, some more relaxed and chilled than others. The main pool often has the animation team playing music, doing dances, organising games such as water polo, aqua aerobics etc. they also often bring out a water mat the kids can run across which goes down brilliant (with adults and kids!) and an inflatasault course/slide. The animation team are happy, friendly, encouraging and clearly enjoy the job they do! There are plenty of sunbeds, parasols (a parasol for every 2 beds) and tables around the pool. No sunbed wars here! If you really want a certain location you would need to be up around 7/8am. However you could turn up at lunch time and you would always be able to find a few spare beds. All inflatables are allowed in the pools too. There’s two small kids pools and a splash pad which is fab for little ones. Along with a couple of bigger slides which our 7 year old and 14 year old enjoyed. Towels are available for hire. It’s a €10 deposit per towel which you get back at the end of your holiday, and you get towel cards to exchange them for fresh ones when needed. Room: our rooms were basic but very comfortable, slightly dated but everything worked and they are well maintained and very clean. Air con, fridge and even a coffee machine in each room. The hotel is split on multiple levels, but there’s plenty of lifts making it accessible for everyone. The cleaners come every day and make such a great job of having a tidy round, changing/making the beds and giving new towels if you want them. Food: there’s one main buffet restaurant (with an extra overflow restaurant, but this is similar layout and exactly the same food. It just stops the main restaurant getting too full) the main restaurant is a good size, you could always find a table, even for our bigger group. And there’s plenty of staff on hand cleaning tables and taking plates away etc. the food in these restaurants was probably one of the nicest of any all inclusive buffet we’ve ever been to. There is plenty of selection, truly something for everyone, with full cooked breakfasts, pastries, breads, fruit, seeds, omelettes made to order etc. pancakes, Nutella, waffles, fresh honey in a morning. Full variety at lunch time, as well as evening meal being a different theme every night (Indian night was amazing!) with plenty of fresh meat being cooked, joints of meat, vegetables, salads, always two types of pasta and sauce (bolognaise/ carbonara etc) and delicious pizzas fresh every night, always a good selection of desserts and ice cream. There’s also a little kids section where kids can serve themselves. There are 2 à la carte restaurants, and each stay gets one visit to each. The steak restaurant “bones” lovely service but I wouldn’t say the food was amazing here. Still nice, but not our favourite. And the Italian which was beautiful and we all enjoyed. (Top tip, they’re next door to each other and the desserts come from the same kitchen, so if you’re child (or you) enjoyed their dessert in one you can ask them for it in the other). There is also a snack bar which opens from around 10.30 until 5.30ish through the day around the smaller pool. This serves pizzas, pasta, chicken nuggets, chips, salads etc. and they also have a bbq going daily where you can get fresh burgers/sausages etc. as well as paella. There are plenty of tables here, all outside but under a canopy away from the sun. As well at this there’s also a little food truck which is stocked all day with fresh burgers, hot dogs, chips and fruit which you can just go and grab. I’d say the ONLY thing lacking would be any sort of nibbles such as crisps/nuts etc. but that’s really the only thing I can say. Bars/drinks: there’s lots of bars around the resort, the main bar being the sunset lounge which offers inclusive cocktails, spritis, mixers, beers etc. there’s also a self serve section for water/soft drinks, teas and coffees. There’s the pool bar around the main pool serving the same selection of drinks, with a self serve beer and wine tap, kids slush machines and soft drinks. The snack bar has a small self serve section of soft drinks, slush, wine and beer as well. Entertainment: this was fab, there was always something going on if you wanted to be involved, or quieter areas if you prefer. There’s a kids mini disco on every night in the showroom around 8oclock for an hour, usually followed by an act such as a singer, dancing, fire performers, magician etc. on after. There is also often entertainment on outside the sunset bar too, sometimes as an alternative to what’s on inside, sometimes afterwards. They do a kids carnival once per week which had a circus act, party dances, balloon modelling, face painting, games, bouncy castle etc. it’s brilliant for the younger ones! There’s truly something for everyone. They even held a foam party during the day when we were there which the kids loved. Theres a high ropes course (all of this is fully included too) which they can go on as much as they like, they just have to book the day before). We also went in the spa and had the couples package for my birthday. This was lovely, the massage was one of the best I’ve ever had! And the staff were all so lovely. The spa itself is say is a little dated with a few updates needed, but really nothing to ruin your experience, it’s very reasonably priced (€21 pp for 2 hours spa access, or other packages available for treatments). We did request a late checkout as we had an evening flight, but unfortunately the hotel was full. However they let you use the spa showers/facitlites in this case, and there is a luggage room to store your cases, so we actually found this completely fine and really wasn’t an issue. There’s a shop in the hotel selling everything you would need, such as snacks, drinks, toys, inflatables, souvenirs, essentials, sun tan creams, swim suits etc. there’s also a landy shop, which is the hotel mascot, so everything in there is a big giant turtle which my youngest loved 😂 The hotel itself isn’t too near any particular resort, you can walk down the hill and either go left or right and you can find a couple or little shops/restaurants, but nothing too much happening. It’s a steep hill back up though, so a hard walk or about €4 in a taxi (definitely worth the money!) We booked the hotel bus trip to the market in Costa Adeje, this was €20 per person, around a 30/40 minute coach ride, but it’s just for that hotel so no pick ups and drop offs. It drops you right outside the market for the morning. The market is fab! I would recommend, we all thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Over the road from the market is some lovely bars and coffee shops for you to sit and cool off, with a small shopping mall (air conditioned and toilets!) if you got sick of the hustle and bustle of the market. We also done the night time Siam park, but booked this all seperate (just some adults and the older two children went), so this was about €45 each way in a taxi, but a taxi can fit 6 people, so cheaper than paying for an excursion per head, you can also arrive earlier and get in earlier to avoid the queues. If you’ve got this far well done, and sorry for the essay, but I love a review that really helps me get a feel for the hotel and what it offers. And this one was up there with the best for us, so if you’re going ENJOY!!
We recently returned from our ten day holiday and we enjoyed so much about this hotel. We first visited in May last year, so as this was August the hotel did feel busier, especially in the main restaurant in the evening. But the staff across the hotel all cope so well, and are all friendly and hard working. The rooms are immaculately cleaned each day. We preferred to spend our days at the quiet pool, due to the excellent snack bar which runs a BBQ daily and has plenty of great options for lunch. Our three kids who are 11, 9 and 7 were the perfect ages to make the most of this holiday, and as well as the water slides, they really enjoyed the High Ropes. Chris and Ferran were both amazing with the kids at the High Ropes and looked after them all so well that the kids kept wanting to go back daily. The hotel also has a really well equipped gym that doesn’t get busy. All in all a really great holiday, so we’ve already booked to return next August.
We have had such a lovely time here, I can’t thank the animation team enough for getting to know both of my children. Sophia is an incredible part of the team and my children adore her!! We will miss being the best aqua dancers 😉 and we can’t wait to come back next year!!
Absolutely brilliant stay here at the hotel, 2 of our 3 children's first time abroad. We don't leave until tomorrow but I feel compelled to write this review now before I get home and get holiday blues.
Firstly the animation team are incredible. From the kids club staff and the evening entertainment, even to being hassled on their breaks by our children theyve always been so upbeat, energetic and welcoming and appear to enjoy interacting with the children. Mafer with her purple lipstick was on hand to help us with anything we needed during our stay and I think it is something that will stay with our 3 kids, she lent them lilos to play with in the pool, booked us all in at the spa and sorted gifts for the us on arrival (towels for the children to keep and Cava for the adults), braided their hair and did yoga sessions by the pool with them. She was also always smiling and happy to see our kids. Both Mafer and the entertainment team staff made our children feel very special.
The food and drinks are very good, there is something for everyone and diner staff are very attentive cleaning up. Nautilus snack bar at the landi pool is good and the little bar in the landi VIP area is good with staff so friendly.
The hotel itself overlooks some of Los gigantes and LA gomera island, it's a stunning view, if you step back it almost looks like your on a cruise ship with sweeping views over the sea.
Everything is clean and shiny. The arcade area is brilliant and keeps the kids entertained when they are waiting for a show to start.
The shop is also good and stocks vast amounts of pool floats which are at a very competitive price if you want to save weight in your case just buy them here.
There is also so much stuff for the family to do including high ropes, splash play area, pirate ship play area, zip line, football pitch, basketball court, table tennis area, climbing wall and crazy golf.
Pools are clean and a good depth at 1.4m at the landi area. Book a Balinese bed by the landi pool for packages starting at 45 Euro and u get some snacks and bubbles. I think the family package included non alcoholic pink champagne for the kids.
Photographers are also on hand to capture your stay and have good packages available.
All in all a brilliant holiday and thank you to everyone for making it so enjoyable.
