A family-friendly hotel is a 3-minute walk away from the nearest beach, it's a great spot for families seeking sea and sunshine. Playa Martianez Beach is nearby, as well as the stunning Orotava Botanical Gardens. The hotel offers beautiful views of the sea and Tenerife's iconic Mount Teide volcano from its sun terrace and garden. A swimming pool offers a place to cool off from the sun, while the designated kids' pool allows the little ones to splash around. The onsite restaurant offers a variety of buffet style meals. Additionally, the hotel has a snack bar for lighter bites and a drinks bar where to relax with a couple of drinks. Rooms are spacious and bright, featuring all the needed amenities to have a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Location to the centre of Puerto de la Cruz is about 15mins away. Either take the 240 steps or walk down the decline road but remember you need to come back up.
The hotel itself is 3 star. It was never that busy and seems popular for day visits using the Spa by Spanish locals. Due to this lunchtime seems the busiest part of the day in the restaurant.
Food and drink is what you would expect. We went with the all-inclusive option. 2 drinks per person. They had various themed evenings such as Chinese and Spanish.
There is a small car park but it can only be used for disabled parking.
The rooms are dated and there are a few tiles missing on the pool but it's not the end of the world.
Yes its not got air-con which I knew about so we left the balcony doors open. The only problem was the busy road that runs behind the hotel. We had a corner room facing the front but with it being the main road from 06:00hrs in the morning the traffic wakes you up. Street cleaners, coaches, mopeds with no exhausts, air brakes on HGV's.
Its a no smoking/vaping hotel which I knew about. There are two smoking areas One near the bar and the other outside in the carpark. Its 100€ fine if caught smoking.
No brew facilities or kettles in the room. But there is a water dispenser which does both hot and cold water on each floor. We asked for a kettle and they dropped one off for us. There is a small fridge in the room.
Overall I got the hotel really cheap so I can't complain. Never been to Puerto del la Cruz before and didnt realise how cloudy it was compared to the South of the Island. Luckily we had a hire to go and chase the sun.
Santiago very friendly runs everywhere and funny Fabio the entertainer is very hard working
Great stay, friendly staff and especially Santiago the barman who was always friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy hotel with ample facilities for the value.
Avoid this hotel so many things wrong with it from holes in lampshades dirty bathrooms to cold meals the list goes on we did see the staff at reception but nothing was done about it. Both myself and my husband have both been ill from staying here with sore throats and generally feeling unwell honestly choose a different hotel and stay away from this one.
So the O7 was our second choice with Jet2, our first was the Teide Mar and as work was being carried out, the O7 was it. First impression, tired as my old mate John would say needs a revamp. Entrance is via a ramp and steps, the ramp is a bit tricky near the top as the wheel of my wife's stroller would not go over it with out a little assistance. We had asked for one of the adapted rooms as my wife as problems with a bath. The room given was down one floor near the bar and restaurant, it was not suitable reason was no view except a wall 4 feet from the balcony, yes we were below the road. The receptionist told me they were full but she managed to find us 125 on the ground floor, yes it as a bath but we manage. Beds were comfy, our balcony overlooked the road but it got the sun all day, they supplied us with a kettle so we could make coffee and tea. The best thing I found with the hotel was a cold water drink dispenser just down the hallway. We booked half board, so the first night we went down to dinner, usual fare something we liked something we didn't. Breakfast next morning usual fare, we stuck to orange juice, toast and beans, with fried or boiled eggs. Don't ask for an omelette unless you take some cheese and tomato from the salad trays. Second night we were first in for the evening meal mexican night? I choose some ribs, fried onion and cous cous, we sat down, the ribs were just warm, we walked out, the food wasn't up to our standards, don't get me wrong we have had loads of holidays with half board and all inclusive food, but I'm afraid the choice here didn't suit us so we ate out, the staff didn't understand why we left our food. Each night we walked in at dinner but then left, didn't fancy anything. The bar staff were great especially Santiago he was just brill very attentive. Drink prices were ok but they didn't take cash, it was either your room number or visa. There are plenty of good restaurants around the O7 if you want to eat out. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, just the food let it down for us, the was always plenty of guests in the restaurant, just us that's a little picky I suppose.
