This beautiful hotel is located in northern Tenerife, on the coastal town of Puerto de la Cruz. The airport is about 25 minutes' drive away. It is just a short stroll from the heart of Puerto de la Cruz, a charming fishing town where guests can soak in the Canarian atmosphere and let themselves be delighted by the local gastronomy. The sea front promenade is lined with a wide variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Around the pool area, visitors can find a bar which offers snacks and drinks, an outdoor pool and a terrace with comfortable sun loungers. The elegant rooms come with all the necessary amenities to have a pleasant stay. Only Adults hotel, minimum age 16.
We recently returned from a holiday at TRH Taoro Garden, and unfortunately, we regret booking it. While the hotel has a lovely pool area and nice gardens, that is truly where the positives end. It is lacking the quality and service you expect from a genuine 4-star resort.The room itself was very disappointing. It felt small and shabby, with two single beds simply pushed together instead of a proper double layout. The beds are on wheels and with a fake laminate Lino floor they move around. The air conditioning was practically useless, we couldn't get the room cool, and we have since heard a rumour that the hotel centrally restricts the system from dropping below 22 degrees. The fridge provided is tiny, it can only hold a few small items and ours for some reason continually leaked water all over the floor. We don’t go on holiday to watch TV but only one English Channel (BBC News) out of approx 50 seemed insufficient, especially considering the number of German channels available.
While the hotel grounds are relaxing, the overall vibe is incredibly dull, uninspiring, and isolating. There is absolutely no atmosphere in or around the property. The evening entertainment was dreadful and felt very dated. I actually found it comical.
We were also highly disappointed by the hotel shuttle bus. It isn't a dedicated hotel service like they imply; it is a shared coach that stops at multiple hotels. It only runs a few times a day, seats are not guaranteed, and the last bus back from the town center leaves at 6:00 PM weekdays and 1:00 PM on a Saturday . If you miss it or it's full, you are stranded at the bottom of the hill. There is no shuttle bus on a Sunday. We also experienced not being able to get on the bus from the hotel as not enough free seats were available. The only option is to wait for the next bus, a taxi at your own cost or walk. It’s technically possible to walk up to the hotel but I would not recommend it, it’s incredibly steep
Between the sterile atmosphere, the run-down rooms, and a series of frustrating customer service errors at checkout, we will definitely not be returning. If you are looking for a vibrant, quality 4-star experience in Tenerife, look elsewhere.
It was a short trip to recharge the batteries and the hotel was spot on. Good food, gym facilities and pool area in a great area.
first of all let me say this - the staff are lovely and when you interact with them its great.
the resort and weather not so much. True to form the North of the island is like a poor Uk summer good and bad days
the food is ok but if you want it quick forget it - every main bit of food is cooked to order but unlike a restaurant its a buffet so you order and then spend 10 minutes standing there while it is ready only then can you get the rest of the food. This even applies to eggs and bacon in the morning. you would be better gong to a restaurant to eat. There are no drinks to get yourselves everything including soft drinks has to be served to you fine if there is lot of staff there is not forget any chance of a second bottle of water. The main bar is open but to get a member of staff you have to ring a bell. They insist on serving to all people in the evening but there is only one person serving meaning again its a struggle.
Rooms and cleaning are basically great but do not go on the lower floors they smell musty as evidenced by the air fresheners to cover the smell its to do with humidity apparently The shuttle bus is a lottery it calls at other hotels first if you can not get on unlucky. The hotel do not mention this.
The entertainment staff is lovely but as it consists of only one person do not expect much. Aqua aerobics once, no music around the pool or anything in the way of games apart from darts and suffleboard.
4 entertainers in the evening a sax player, keyboard player, Elvis impersonator and guitar band - and rotate every 4 days
Sunbeds - great no wars you will always get one one matter what time of the year or day
overall - not again for me nice staff and people but a management who do not care - in my case Reps from our holiday company who literally never visit and have never eaten there says it all really

I had a lovely relaxing stay at Taoro Gardens, The staff were very friendly, the food was good and the pool was delightful with plenty of sunbeds. The hotel is spotlessly clean. There is, however, no air con in the lobby or ground floor bar which is disappointing really. The air con in the rooms turns off when you leave your room which results in a hot room on return, making sleep difficult so not ideal. The air con is also noisy when cranked up to high. I think that decent air con is a basic requirement which is why I gave a rating of a 3 star.
