The hotel has an excellent location in Puerto de la Cruz, near playa Jardin and 10 minutes from the city centre. The airport is about 25 minutes’ drive away from the complex. Guests will be happy to know that the beach is at a walking distance. If they prefer, they can stay in and enjoy the wonderful outdoor pool area, rest and sunbathe by the side of the pool or have a refreshing swim. The accommodations are perfectly equipped with all the essential amenities needed to have a pleasant and memorable stay.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Place really would do with refurbishment. Pillows was very bad and i had back pain all week due to uncomfortable sleep . There was no hot water, well maybe there was timed boiler im not sure as first night there was hot water but after we had to take cold showers for full week . I do understand maybe its ok to have cool shower in the summer but i do not feel comfortable washing in the cold . Tv had 90% of german channels and 10% of spanish . We don’t speak german so it wasn’t useful for us . There was no working pool in the hotel, they did offer free access to lovely pools in different area, it was useful because we wanted visit there anyway so it saved us money. But we wasn’t made aware of pool being not in use until we asked. Reception staff was nice and we had housekeeping service daily . We had nice view from the balcony and anything we would need was very local. Overall we did enjoy our stay
Wouldn't stay at this property again in it's current condition as in my opinion it requires a lot of upgrading, While I understand that the property is old it doesn't excuse the company from false advertising, there was no air con, fitness centre, pool or bar available when we stayed even though advertised on their website, The bedroom was no bigger than a shoe box with a tiny window which we couldn't even see out of and the window opened inward which resulted in the curtains being pushed in so no blackout function being allowed, lack of air con made it unbearable stuffy and claustrophobic. No kettle, toaster, microwave, oven even though it was suposed to be a self catering apartment, the cooking utensils were extremely sparse. While there was a good size balcony there was zero privacy. Cockroach every day in press or running across the floor. Couldn't use the wardrobe due to musty smell which they tried to cover up with cleaning products which didn't mask the smell at all but as the building is old that's to be expected I guess. The building is in a good location with supermarket and places to eat near by and a short walking distance to beach, town etc, the cleaning staff were lovely.
Been twice to this hotel basic but situated just right location. It has a small pool which was kept to a high standard never to busy and plenty of free sun loungers.
I would say this hotel is maximum 1 star. Only star comes for OK location, quite near at center of PDC but everything else is just not good. BUT this is what you get for cheap prices.
Everything is out of date and we were just pleasant to get out of room. Next time we put little more money to get pleasant hotel.
We booked Teneguia as part of a special family holiday, with six of us travelling to celebrate an extended family member’s 30th birthday. Unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing.
One of the main reasons we chose this accommodation was the heated outdoor swimming pool, which is prominently featured in the accommodation advertising, including photographs. We arrived to find that the pool was closed.
There is a notice on the booking website mentioning that the pool is closed, but it is very easy to miss amongst the rest of the accommodation information. Four adults in our group viewed the accommodation before booking and none of us noticed it. Two other friends who were considering booking also missed it.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that the pool continues to be presented so prominently in the accommodation advertising, despite guests not being able to use it.
We have been offered the option of using a pool at a nearby hotel and/or one ticket for Lagos per week. In our opinion, this is not an equivalent replacement for the heated pool advertised as part of the accommodation.
There is also building work taking place from around 7:30–8am, despite our booking confirmation stating that building work would not start until 9am. Being woken by construction significantly earlier than the time we were told to expect is not acceptable.
We have raised these issues with the holiday provider and the In-Resort team, but unfortunately we have found the response extremely frustrating and have not been given a satisfactory solution.
We have also since seen other people raising complaints about the accommodation on TikTok, which suggests we are not the only guests experiencing problems.
I understand that hotels can experience maintenance issues and that circumstances can change. However, when a facility is such a prominent part of the accommodation advertising, and when guests are then faced with construction earlier than the time stated in their booking information, it has a significant impact on the holiday experience.
We booked this trip to celebrate a special family birthday and paid a significant amount of money expecting the accommodation and facilities advertised when we booked.
Sadly, based on our experience, I would not recommend booking this accommodation until the pool situation and building works have been resolved.
Location is probably the best thing about it. View of the beach is lovely if your on the right side on the hotel which we were.
Staff were ok some more friendly than others. No air conditioning so have to keep the windows open so lots of noise & work men out at 7:30 / 8am. Clean towels every 3 days daily bin change
