This superb hotel is situated at the heart of the tourist hub of Puerto de la Cruz. The property enjoys a prime setting at the north of the welcoming island of Tenerife just 150 metres from the sprawling Playa Jardin Beach. Guests will find themselves just 500 metres from the Plaza del Charco and the small fishing port of Puerto de la Cruz, while just 1 km from the hotel lies the world famous Loro Parque. Within walking distance from the establishment sits the seawater pools of Lagos de Martianez and the Playa Martianez. Patrons are greeted by warm hospitality, excellent service, exemplary facilities and impeccable attention to detail. This modern hotel offers a choice of leisure and recreational facilities for guests' enjoyment, to ensure that the entertainment needs of each individual are fully catered to.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This is not a bad hotel overall and there were some good points including Plentiful breakfast Clean pool and pool area Friendly and efficient staff Reasonable location However, it is not, as claimed, a four star hotel. The rooms are very basic and there are no in-room amenities. The lack of plug sockets(1 per room), no fridge to store snacks/milk. The airconditioning did not work and the door handle fell off. I would say this is a solid two star hotel.
This hotel really is a tale of two halves. The staff are working very hard and efficiently, but the buildings and facilities really need help! It’s rated 4 star by Spanish standards which definitely isn’t accurate, and even its 3 star Jet 2 rating is at risk of slipping in some areas.
Let’s start with the positives:
Great breakfast. Staff worked really hard to keep it replenished and tables were always cleared and reset quickly. Good choice of options. Enjoyed my breakfast each day.
Very powerful and reliable air con in the rooms which is super. Bed was also very comfy.
-All areas are very clean. Maids work hard in the rooms and the pool, bar areas, toilets, restaurant etc are all kept to a good standard of cleanliness.
Now the areas that urgently need addressing:
Major maintenance issues in the bathrooms. My bath was incredibly rusty (see attached photo). The shower was either scalding or freezing and water pressure was not great. My toilet made a very loud whistling noise every time it was flushed and my friend had a leak in her room from the bathroom above on our last day. To their credit, reception and maintenance addressed this latter problem very quickly.
Plugs!! In 2026, having one plug per room simply isn’t acceptable. The fact that it’s the same plug to be used for the TV (and any other devices) even less so. It’s nowhere near the bed and I couldn’t make use of the TV at all due to always needing to charge my phone there.
The furniture is all very tired, shabby and worn looking, as are many of the fittings and fixtures. Most things feel like they’re on their last legs. My friend’s door was broken, didn’t close properly, and the key card stopped working several times during the holiday.
The food in the pool bar at lunch time is not great. Fries were slightly undercooked both times we had them and toasted sandwiches were cold. Can’t comment on dinner buffet as we had bed and breakfast only.
They also ran out of pool towels despite not having that many sun beds so had to go out and buy my own towel.
In summary, if you’re looking for a straightforward stay with few frills and are happy to put up with outdated/faulty facilities, you will still have an enjoyable stay here. If you want any comforts in the room such as a kettle, tea/coffee, cups, water etc, make sure to bring all of this yourself as not much is provided apart from the bare bones of the furniture and some shower gel & shampoo. You also need to ask for a safe key at reception and there is a cost attached to this. I believe it was 3 euro a day, from memory. It is an old fashioned safe and you have to carry the key around with you.
Overall I would say I would return to the hotel if pushed, thanks to the high standards of cleaning and the staff work ethic. It also provides a handy location to enjoy the lovely town of Puerto de la Cruz. But would probably look for somewhere of a higher standard next time and more representative of a 3-4 star stay.
My partner and I just got back from a week here and had a truly wonderful time. We arrived at midnight due to flight times and the staff had left us a dinner to have when we arrived which was a fabulous touch.
We’ve seen mixed reviews and I think it’s fair to clarify -
The things we agree that could improve the hotel in certain areas would be having some music on in the hotel bar / pool area and just touching up the paint work around light fittings in rooms and ensuring cracked chairs on the balcony were replaced.
Other than that it was fantastic and we’d happily stay again!
Stayed for a week beginning of March, check in was quick, we booked a room with balcony facing the city side, but when we got to our room, we had the end room on floor 1 which had a corner balcony with a view of the city plus round the corner we had a pool view with a partial sea view in the distance. The room was basic though spotlessly clean ,with a large double bed, which was 2 single beds pushed together, but they were very comfortable and we slept well all week. The bathroom was a decent size with a bath and shower, the water was piping hot which was great, though you need to be careful if you’ve got children with the hot water. The room had only 1 socket but we managed ok with that, there’s no fridge in the rooms which is a bit of an inconvenience, I used to buy a bag of ice every day and put it into a cool bag and kept my drinks in that. The maids came in every day to make the beds, and replace the towels, they were lovely fair play. We booked bed and breakfast and there was a really good variety of food to choose from. We did pay extra to eat dinner in the evening most nights- 34€ for the 2 of us which we thought was good value when you consider the amount and choice you had. The only negative thing I would say about the food, it wasn’t hot enough for my liking. The pool was lovely with plenty of sunbeds and the bar area was very relaxing with lots of comfy chairs to sit and relax on. Although the hotel is practically on the beach, it is still a good 15/20 minutes walk away from the main centre where most of the restaurants are and it’s around 20 minutes walk from Loro Parque which is definitely a must see, we had a fantastic day there. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, just wish the weather could have been a bit better.
Simple 3 star hotel that I have viewed from private rental previously. As that was not available, I booked this dump! No fridge in room which u get even in 2 star accommodation! 1 x socket in room, bring an extension socket! Clean but worn, Went B&B as no lesser option. Breakfast usual cheap buffet affair that may appeal to some?’
