Ok, depends on room position and bit of noise from the main road.,relax and calm, you your thing and nobody will bother you, .older hotel , in very good shape, outstanding service from every body who is working
We had a lovely stay at Puerto Palace overall. The hotel itself was beautiful, and the pool area was especially lovely. Our room was nice and comfortable too.
We chose not to have our room cleaned during our stay due to a previous experience we’d had with room cleaning elsewhere, so I can’t really comment on the housekeeping service. The Wi-Fi unfortunately didn’t work in our room, and the air conditioning didn’t work either. The air con didn’t bother us too much personally, though.
The majority of the staff were very welcoming and friendly, particularly the staff in the bar area. However, we did have a couple of experiences where we felt some staff members were a little hostile towards us. We’re both English and 18 and 19, so I’m not sure if our age or nationality had anything to do with it, but it did make us feel slightly uncomfortable.
There was one particular member of staff who unfortunately stood out to us. She had blonde hair which she usually wore in a high ponytail and worked in the bar/ restaurant out side , and on a few occasions we found her manner quite rude. I also witnessed an interaction between her and an older English gentleman in the restaurant, which gave me a similar impression. Of course, I can’t comment on her intentions, but the interactions did leave me feeling uncomfortable.
Aside from that, we really didn’t have any major complaints about the hotel itself. We thought the hotel was lovely and there were definitely a lot of positives to our stay.
We did spend a few nights in the south of Tenerife as we felt there wasn’t a huge amount to do around Puerto de la Cruz, and we found the weather was much nicer there. However, that’s more down to the location and our own lack of research beforehand rather than the hotel, so I wouldn’t hold that against Puerto Palace.
Overall, I’m glad we stayed at Puerto Palace and we did enjoy parts of our holiday, but personally I wouldn’t return. Unfortunately, some of our experiences with staff left us feeling like we weren’t particularly welcome, and that did have an impact on how we felt about our stay. It’s a shame because the hotel itself is beautiful and has a lot going for it, but feeling comfortable and welcomed is really important to us when staying somewhere.

The balcony is maybe 0.5 m under that terrace level, so it feels even weirder. These main site mentions Economy Rooms on "basement level", but they are on the North Side.
Addendum: they changed us to higher accomodations in the morning and we are extremely grateful. But presenting a semi-basement room, high in humidity, with no comfortable intimacy or daylight quiet options as Standard is not a good Marketing strategy. There are other options to do it, that don't negatively affect the tourist perception of the whole Hotel just due to less than 5% of the rooms being wrongly presented.
As well as a beautiful pool area our room was very comfortable and very clean. The food was great with a wide selection to choose from as well as very friendly and welcoming staff.
