The PUERTO DE LA CRUZ HOTEL is conveniently located for the more popular areas of PUERTO DE LA CRUZ. Of particular note are the panoramic views of the valley, of the garden and of the swimming pool. It's300 rooms offer customers a functional and pleasant environment. Guests can rent a car from the hotel. We also have Billiards. The hotel has a buffet restaurant and a bar, where there is live entertainment and music. There is also a poolside bar.
One of the swimming pools is heated and there is also a children's swimming pool and a tennis court. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to Martianez Shopping Centre, available from Monday to Friday.
Mount Teide National Park with its famous volcano can be reached in 1 hour by car. Santa Cruz de Tenerife, its port and the island's North Airport are within 30 minutes' drive of the hotel.
Private parking is subject to availability. Cost 5eur per day.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Will keep this as brief as possible I know readers do not like long reviews.
Had a bad experience at this hotel. Went with a big family, all were left unhappy with the hotel for the cost:
Honestly I could go on for a while. I’d recommend against staying at this hotel, asides from the food being ok and ironically being cleaned often, we did not have a good experience:
Hotel ok , food ok , location ok . Most staff ok .. BUT The only blond female SOS lifeguard is either paying no attention at all (eg doing her own work cutting things up / writing essays) and then when she finally looks up she becomes a jobs worth . Totally understandable a lifeguard has a job to to but there’s not doing it or overdoing it . There are loads of other Pleasant lifeguards and staff here but she totally ruines anyone’s day the moment you see her coming 🫣
As said nice hotel and 99% nice staff but she ruins the whole experience at this hotel and lives a very bitter experience. If you have met her you know .
I really wanted to leave a 5 star review, I then wanted to leave a 1 star review just on her but to be fair I’ve left a 3 star review just a shame she was around most days to ruin yes ruin our holiday . I don’t think I can add pictures of people on here so I won’t , but I will be complaining directly to the hotel and jet 2 about her.
Just back from a week at the Fergus Puerto De La Cruz.
I have to say that, without exaggeration, this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.
The location isn’t great. It’s a very steep, winding hill to have navigate. The hotel shuttle bus only makes 3 trips down per day; so we walked down but took a taxi back.
The hotel does not have a large enough outdoor area to accommodate the number of guests. There is nowhere for kids to just run around and let off some energy. There is also not enough sun beds and other guests DO put down their towels early in the morning, meaning there is next to no chance of getting one.
There was no kids club or even a place for them to play outside. We were told that there was a piece of astroturf upstairs, but the gate was locked when we went.
The kids pool is up about 6 flights of stairs. It is pretty small and once you are up there, the bar in that area is NOT all-inclusive; even for soft drinks.
There is also no nightly kids disco or kids entertainment.
Due to the World Cup, I think I can only remember entertainment of any sort on 1 night. The ‘entertainment’ is held in a lounge with no A/C, which means that it becomes a bit of a sweat box pretty quickly.
The only indoor bar doesn’t open ‘til the evening, which means there is nowhere to sit with a cool drink out of the sun.
The food in the buffet is, quite frankly, terrible. It is not of great quality, the selection is poor, repetitive and almost always, lukewarm.
We also found the floor in the buffet to be pretty dirty and grimy, particularly around the seats that were fixed to the wall.
There is no popular kids food or pizza station etc.
On the whole, the staff were lovely. We did encounter one or two who were rude and dis-interested, though.
The room was basic but adequate. The cleaning was done very well and we have no complaints there.
However, to have pay for a kettle in your room is pretty poor for a 4 Star hotel.
We actually had a great holiday with our Grandson. But, this was despite the hotel, not because of it.
Would never stay here again and would not recommend to anyone as it’s not a hotel for kids and not good enough to be adults only.
room was comfortable and clean
We had a lovely week at the Fergus hotel Puerto de La Cruz. We took my partner’s Nan with us, we booked with jet 2 and required assisted travel and a adapted room due to mobility issues, the rooms were lovely spacious and very clean, house keepers came in every day. The air con works very well and we had a lovely view of the main pool and the mountain. Food is generally good and found something to eat every night, they do themed nights which gives a different variety to keep away from the repetitive all inclusive. The hotel’s entertainment team were great we joined in with most games. The drinks included on the all inclusive were very good, if you like a pina colada you can pay for one or have coconut rum and pineapple it’s frothy so tastes very good. We didn’t really experience the top pool due to the steps up to with my partners Nan, me and my partner did go up there once for a swim and had a paid for cocktail which were very good ( mojito and pina colada ) it was quiet up there. The only downside I would say is the school children however they weren’t allowed in the pool before 5pm and if you go in for dinner before 8 you usually won’t encounter them as there is a lot of them. Due to being on a hill, the walk back up can be difficult, however a taxi from down by McDonald’s is approximately €3.50. Overall a wonderful stay and much needed relaxing break
