In the heart of Puerto de la Cruz, with stunning views of the highest peak in Spain, Mount Teide, and with easy access to all the points of interest on the island. In the hotel vicinity, there are the beach, shops, bars and restaurants, and public transportation is in front of the hotel. Facilities include a 24-hour reception, wireless internet access, restaurant, a swimming pool with a sun terrace, lifts, TV room, and a lounge bar with live music. The hotel comprises a total of 236 rooms spread over 10 floors.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Overall nice staff but if you have difficulty walking like my mother, best to avoid. Impossible gradient on the ramp to enter the dining hall. I pushed my mom up it in a rented chair, and lucky I'm a weight-lifter. Not allowed to fill a water bottle from their filtered water dispenser even if you use a glass and tip it into a water bottle. Got yelled at and insulted by a staff member and management didn't seem to care that much that I was verbally abused lol. I'm a big boy and don't back down from people who try to intimidate me. I just laugh. I will add that the food was pretty decent and simple. Being a health nut, I always found good choices, so am grateful for that. Some very very nice staff but some ignorance as well which like I say management didn't seem too concerned about. Most drinking glasses didn't seem clean, perhaps there's an issue with their dishwasher.
Bizarre rule about not being allowed to fill one's water bottle at the purified water dispenser in the dining hall. Very plain hotel, at best a 3 star vibe. Food was simple and mostly acceptable, with some menu weirdness like fresh bananas every day but not at breakfast (?). Some staff are wonderful, majority helpful, but not all (especially if you dare fill a water bottle at the purified water dispenser, lol). Drinking glasses really didn't look clean, and the rooms were clean enough but certainly not spotless. Overall, if you get a room for cheap, fine, but don't pay 4 star prices. Beach is nearby and beautiful but so rocky that you wll get bloody shins from wading in, which sounds dramatc, but was my experence and also that of an intrepid man who was also attemptng to wade into the sea, near me. All rocks, and they are thrown around by every wave. His wife wisely didn't try, and stayed back on the dramatc black sand beach. The black sand was wonderful for December as it helped catch some heat in the cmparatvely cool days. Perhaps not as great in summer?
Great place if you want to be near the centre. Staff are quite arrogant… apart from the lovely lady on reception. My mother had asked for some sugars for her coffee and received mojitos..the staff was quite rude in the bar at various times. The atmosphere is quite dead. There’s not much barr from the elderly. Food is quite bland and basic. Pasta, meat, paella. Breakfast is ok. Limited high chairs for children too… so have to get in fairly early to get one. Water only unless you pay €4 for a soda. Rooms need a massive upgrade quite outdated. The hotel needs a revamp. Reported the lift for the number 8 button not working. Reported it two days ago still not fixed and having a pram and wanting to get up 8 sets of floors isn’t great. Overall most likely wouldn’t book again- Hope to come again to this location just unfortunately not the hotel.
This hotel is not as advertised. The photos are not a true reflection of its condition. The air-conditioning doesn't work. it leaks in the dining area dripping onto tables and food. In our room mould covers the wall and ceiling around the unit. The balcony doors don't slide easily or close properly. No fridge or tea/coffee facilities in the room as advertised. Although the tv is a smart tv this facility has been disabled. The whole hotel is shabby and poorly maintained, could do with some TLC. There is a small pool with friendly lifeguards who are happy to entertain and interact with swimming children. Loungers are uncomfortable and stiff to adjust. Staff are friendly and helpful when you ask but there is a real lack of information about the hotel, nearby attractions or facilities unless you specifically ask. Most hotels provide at least a small guest guide in your room, there is no such thing here. Rooms are cleaned daily but not to a high standard although we did have a linen change halfway through our weeks stay Its in a good location, close to the beach, saltwater pools and many bars, shops and restaurants. But overall we would not recommend or stay here again.
I had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel and, unfortunately, I cannot recommend it.
The most upsetting incident happened in the restaurant. When I entered with a towel wrapped around my head, several staff members grabbed me by the arms and touched/poked my head without my consent. There was a sign at the entrance stating that guests were not allowed to enter wearing swimwear. If there was an additional dress-code requirement, it could have been explained to me politely. There was absolutely no reason to physically touch a guest.
I went to reception to complain about what had happened. Instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the situation, the man at reception started shouting at me and spoke to me in an extremely rude and disrespectful manner.
Communication was also very difficult because the staff’s English was limited. Rather than helping to resolve the situation, this made the experience even more frustrating.
After I complained, I also noticed that our room was no longer being cleaned properly.
What disappointed me most was not simply a misunderstanding about the restaurant’s dress code, but the way I was treated when I tried to address the issue. Guests should be treated with respect, and their personal boundaries should be respected.
This experience seriously affected our holiday. Unfortunately, I have never experienced such treatment at a hotel before.
I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.
