The family-friendly hotel is located in the popular holiday area of Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife, with wonderful views over the Orotava Valley, Mount Teide and the Atlantic Ocean. The volcano of Mount Teide, Spain's highest mountain, can be reached within 45 minutes by car, the airports Tenerife North and Tenerife South are approximately 25 km and 100 km away, respectively. The hotel features confort and spacious rooms, 24-hours reception, currency exchange, WIFI, meeting room, outdoor pools, children's pool, playground, mini-club, restaurant, bar, spa and wellness, fitness centre and sports facilities.
Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 2 outdoor swimming pools, an outdoor tennis court and a sauna. Additional amenities at this hotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, an arcade/games room and a hair salon.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We booked for two weeks and it’s too long to stay at this hotel. We arrived and found out we are staying in the canarife which was fine. No issues of any smell or bad water pressure here, rooms are cleaned daily which was a great touch, however be prepared for a door knock at 845am which if you arrive at 2am is not great(happened to other guests not me).
Pool, the top pool the sun beds are all taken by 8am and no one sat on them, they have signs no saving beds but choose to ignore or enforce the rule. The bottom pool there are sun beds available and it’s a quieter area but sometimes you fancy the busier pool but can’t get a sun bed as people “saved” them and go back to bed till 2pm.
Food, the food is average, plenty of choice and the menu changes every day except breakfast. I would like to have an omelette but it’s the first all inclusive place that don’t offer the service. We ate out a few times as we were there a long time so it felt very samey to us. The dessert options are good for adults and kids. Snack and ice creams etc are good for kids though so that’s a plus.
Bar and entertain are good except the entertain isn’t on long for adults 930 onwards and the kids things 830. The speakers are rubbish as away from the stage can’t hear bingo numbers etc. the bar serves loads of drinks but with the reuse cups being small the lines can get big as the drinks don’t last long. I would suggest a separate line for cocktails as beer and coke easy to serve quickly and keep the queue down. The 1 euro deposit is a good idea except we had cups stolen from the table we was sat at watching entertainment.
Finally I will say the staff here are amazing, all the bar staff work so hard all day every day. The restaurant staff are great as well and the chefs cook all the food properly so no dodgy bellies to report. Lastly the entertainment staff are great at what they do, the lovely lady who does the pool activities always said hello to me and made me feel welcome.
Overall it’s a good choice for a well priced all inclusive break but I would say 7-10 days is a good amount of time here.
The carpet in the room had a lot of dirty marks, and smelled of cigarette smoke. The aircon pushed out air that smelled bad, ie of damp/mould/blocked drains, hence we did not use it. Staff not friendly nor helpful. Canarife Palace is part of the hotel ownership, however sited separately, and I recommend asking for a change if they put you in there. There is no way this is a 4 star hotel, if this accommodation is assessed, cannot comment on the main hotel. Food, etc was ok. Pool area small, little shade, and sun loungers booked out first thing in the morning. They ask for a 20 euro deposit for a kettle, and you have to try and get cups from the kitchen. Towels for the pool are provided, with a 25 euro deposit. Rooms have twin beds, not great for couples.
Good points of this hotel is it is very clean, I highly recommend paying for the upgrade on booking which meant we had a large refurbished room with balcony. Restaurant food was bland, same everyday and some items undercooked. Nothing particularly for children. All in all in was a disappointment and we ate out everyday after a couple of days. You also queue and they tell you where you have to sit. I went down alone one morning and nodded my head to which table I was sent to but went straight to the water machine as I was thirsty, the restaurant manager kept repeating over and over I must go to my table. I said to her what for to only leave it and go then to get a drink, she became quite shouty and argumentative. Not very pleasant or needed. I complained to the reception that it was a rather uncalled for an embarrassing incident. They agreed and said someone would call me to discuss but they never did. Just another reason I was put off eating there. They also wipe the food off the tables on to the floor! We also got bored of the pool only went in once.no inflatables aloud. The entertainment here is 30 mins of kids dancing and then maybe some kareoke. If you wanted a snack in between meal times or late back from a Trip in afternoon there’s a small deli shelf side of the bar with stale bread, tomatoe and ham. That’s it, on this basis it really isn’t all inclusive it’s full board. All inclusive should mean you can eat/ drink when you need to. Bar staff friendly but expect constant queues not seen this in hotels before but only 1-2 staff. All round it’s an ok hotel if you don’t want much from it and basic food/entertainment but for what we paid it was far too much for what I would consider a 3star hotel at best. Also better to get one closer to the beach as this was relatively a long walk.
This did not feel to me a 3/4 star hotel. The room was extremely dated, and smelt of stale smoke. The air conditioning units only blew out malodorous air. It was vastly in need of refurbishment. The hotel is split over three sections , I wou”d not advise staying in the Canarife Palace. The room had a dirty carpet, and a fusty smell. The food was fairly bland, the other odd thing was if you were a group of four and sat at a table set for four people (but could seat 6) you were asked to move. The bar staff were very helpful and super friendly.
Lovely stay at this hotel from start to finish me my mum and partner arrived around 1am on the 5th of September where we were greeted by the reception staff due to it being a late check in and missing dinner time they handed us a small bag that contained a bottle of water each a sandwich some crisps and a apple we thought that was a very sweet gesture. We arrived into are room which was a little dated but was very clean and tidy and was huge pleanty of space it dosent come with tea or coffee facilities but if you go to reception you can rent on for 20 euros which is returned when you return the kettle… all staff members were amazing very polite welcoming and always smiling they was always there if you needed them hotel and rooms were always kept clean… always something to eat we enjoyed the food… just wanted to thank the staff for a lovely stay in this hotel and would definitely stay again 🙂
