Hotel was a big disappointment from the description myself and 17yr old son expecting lots of English families with teenagers and teenagers entertainment which there was non of this and mainly french and spanish guests all with very young childre nothing againstthem at all but my son on all other holidays has been able to find other teens to hang outt with first ever time this has not happened.
The cleaners are amazing and work extremely hard and make the rooms wonderful for this hotel so big thank you to them! and the air conditioning and that is the only good thing I have to say about this hotel.
Food was awful even some days the salad leaves looked rotten. I have dietary requirements to no gluten, soy etc as well as being vegetarian I paid for all inclusive and ended up eating out as they do not cater for some one like me. My son is not a fussy eater normally but yet he struggled to eat here and also ate out. As was hungry but dod not want the food there Food is very repetitive or reheated breakfast items for bar snacks etc..
Did not feel welcome at this hotel at all which made me want to spend as little time possible there. Extremely disappointed and ruined my holiday experience! Having to pay extra as well if you want to use the indoor pool or gym I have never had that it has always been included free of charge! The roof bar is a let down too and also not included! I have stayed in better 2 star hotels!
Booked as it is supposed to be 4 star. Staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. Room cleaned daily, again staff friendly. Paid extra for a sea view, what a mistake as the road can be noisy with motorbikes. We asked to move to a quieter room, and they moved us twice to other rooms on the road, what was the point of that? Room was large and comfortable. Air conditioning very noisy in rooms. Nice balconies. Pool decent, with activities going on, but hard to get a lounger. Breakfast was just ok, not wonderful. Location was the biggest issue, its not at the heart of town. Puerto de la Cruz is a lovely town with plenty to do and well worth a visit.
A lovely big bright and fresh hotel. Nice size rooms with everything you need. Great view of the ocean with bigger than expected balcony. Food was lovely and hot with a big selection to choose from. Great location for a base to explore the surrounding area. Staff were always polite and helpful. Great pool area and vibe with lots of day and night entertainment. Had a lovely time at Alua would definately recommend and will be back. Ps. Lovely pool and activities for children.
We visited for 10 nights, hotel itself is really lovely, on checking in we got a glass of champagne and all reception staff during our day was very nice.
The room was really clean spacious and comfy, there is also a free safe in the wardrobe so people putting about things being stolen just use the safe. There is also a hair dryer as it don’t say on the read up.
Pool area was really nice kept clean they had just had more sun beds when we was leaving ready for the peak season. The smoking/vaping area is not big enough for the size of the hotel and you can’t vape outside it.
The entertainment team work tirelessly and never stop so if you have kids it’s great for them I will however say it’s mainly aimed for French and Spanish guests. Food- we found the food ok lunch time was better than dinner always an option of fish pork or chicken, breakfast was the best but you can’t take any food or coffee out the restaurant and the bar for coffee don’t open untill 11 for AI. While there we visited Loro parque it was amazing and only a 10-15 min walk out of the hote to the left. We also visited town about 20 mins walk to the right of the hotel and found the lovely salt pools which we visited twice €7 for the day. All in all would visit again but on a self catering basis.
Hotel is cheap and well located. Very clean. External refurb badly needed. Pool area and noise is a big minus. Bored and indifferent staff generally, with several exceptions.
