Adults Only - Ideal for beach vacationers, this hotel is located in Puerto de la Cruz and is only a few steps from the beach. It is about one mile to the center. The nearest bus stop is just 5 minutes' walk (a quarter mile) away. It is about 15 miles to the nearest airport, Tenerife - Norte-Los Rodeos (TFN), and Tenerife - Sur-Reina Sofia (TFS) is around 55 miles away. The hotel was modernized in 2021. Guests have a choice of 202 suites. The reception desk is open around the clock. To ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay, the hotel provides. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas (no extra charge). A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the parking lot. A bicycle rental service provides all the necessary equipment for exploring the surrounding area. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning. A balcony or terrace is among the standard features in the rooms. Valuables can be securely stored in a safe. Guests will also find a mini fridge included among the standard features. A telephone, a flatscreen television with satellite channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer is provided in the bathrooms. In the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. The hotel has 202 non-smoking rooms.
Situated on the north coast at Puerto de La Cruz, just 400 metres from Playa Jardin Beach, this hotel is close to the old part of the town which still retains an atmosphere of Spanish colonial charm.
Very satified with most aspects of our stay (family of 3 members and 3 generations, all adults and we were all-inclusive). Facilities including pool, lounge areas and bars were all good - Nice atmosphere to the place. Staff were more than accommodating - nice little touches, they left us a cold buffet when we arrived 2 hours later than planned at midnight! and water in the rooms, I did contact the hotel direct (on email) to notify them in advance - a little planning does help.... Staff quick to respond to a change of room for my dad (aged 89) and a compliant / recommendation regarding the external Nubium Restaurant (attached to hotel), the jist of which was the hotel were falsely misleading guests about a free weekly trip to the restaurant - which in the end turned out to be a very limited set 'taster' menu of only one option for starter & dessert and two - 1 meat or 1 fish option for the main - no regard for vegetarians or if the mains options were suitable, we saw couples walk out because of this, the owner was very upset understandably so I went and recommended to the hotel reception staff that they 'warn' guests in advance what the deal was - this was taken on board as we heard from other guests booking their free taster meal after us. Overall the food was good in the hotel resturant, penty of variety and theme nights, we didn't find the hot food cold!, agree with the distinct lack of cutlery everywhere! Some of the alcoholic drinks were a bit cheepie/samie tasting (from ready mixed cartons). Good quiet location in the resort away from the main drag and close to beach and Loro Parque a bonus.
We had a great 10 day stay in the Aluasoul Orotava Valley hotel. The hotel was clean, fresh and really comfortable to be in and around. The hotel is quite spread out over the hill so it can be a little bit of walking but its manageable. The reception/restaurant and bar are quite far from the pool area but there are elevators and its flat. If you take the elevator down from the pool you are 1/2 way down (or up!) The hill so its definitely more manageable for the way home!
The staff were all lovely and rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable for our stay. Despite being at the front of the hotel above the service entrance it wasnt noisy and we could see Teide (when the clouds lifted).
Lots of activities and entertainment available and always plenty of sunbeds and space around the pool with umbrellas for shade.
Stayed b&b option and dined in the buffet restaurant once, the food on offer wasn't all that varied (I am vegetarian) but we also only went there one night so probably don't know enough to comment for certain.
Overall a brilliant hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. Really close to the old town where there are plenty of restaurants or guachinches further out! We rented a car with Canarias who were in hotel reception too and they were really helpful and easy to use. Hotel is a great location for exploring the north of the island (south too with the car!)
Well what can I say about this 4* hotel, we was transfered to this hotel through our hotel operator due to facilities being not adequate in our original hotel but I wont go into that as already left them a detailed review.
We managed to arrive at 12pm and was unsure if room was ready as check in was 3pm, we were told to wait in the lobby area, after half an hour we was called to reception and was checked in and told our room was ready, we got the lift up the to next floor and stayed in room 8001, this was a disabled room as my wife is disabled, when we walked in we actually felt like we was on holiday eventually.
The location admittedly is a bit of a walk up a steep hill but we managed to hire a car for access but was quieter than other parts of the town.
The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and was offered water as we were on the AI package.
The food was always tasting fresh and the drinks on offer were perfect. The waiters were very attentive and ensured that guests were happy.
The pool was adequate however a long walk from reception, there was a bar and can be a bit of a wait as they only have one member of staff on but it was still great service.
The room that I stayed in (8001) had a great view of teide and just across the road was the plaintation field, it was a bit noisy with coaches arriving and departing but after a while its normal, the cleaners were absolutely amazing and the room was always looking clean and smelling nice.
Entertainment, although not our thing we did go down for bingo but we found the bingo hostess was too "talky" on the microphone.
Only negative point is the lifts were a bit small for a mobility scooter and another person but I can take the stairs next time
Will definitely book again next year
We recently stayed at Alua Soul Orotava Valley and, unfortunately, our experience was a bit mixed.
On the positive side, the hotel is clean and well maintained, both in the rooms and throughout the common areas. Our room was large and comfortable, which we really appreciated.
However, there were quite a few things that could be improved. We couldn’t open the balcony door in our bedroom because the lock seemed to be broken. There was also a problem with the shower, as water was getting onto the bathroom floor.
During our stay, our room key card stopped working. We had to call reception to get into our room, and then walk all the way through the hotel to reception to have the card replaced. Unfortunately, no one came to help us with this. What was particularly disappointing was that, when I asked if the hotel could offer us lunch as a small gesture of goodwill, the receptionist firmly said no.
The dining experience also wasn’t as good as we expected. There were often no teaspoons or dessert forks, and sometimes there wasn’t enough cutlery on the tables. Coffee, tea and hot water were also not available during dinner. We also noticed that food was being cleared away before 9:30 p.m., sometimes while guests were still eating, which made us feel rushed.
Another disappointment was the timing of the evening entertainment. Some of the activities and shows started during dinner time, which meant that we missed quite a few of the hotel’s events. It would be much better if the entertainment was scheduled so that guests could enjoy both dinner and the evening programme.
We also arrived at the hotel between 1 and 2 a.m. and were surprised that there wasn’t even a bottle of water waiting in the room. For guests arriving late at night, it would be a thoughtful and very welcome touch to provide at least some water in the room.
Overall, the hotel has many positives, especially the spacious rooms and the cleanliness, but the small details and the way some of the issues were handled made our stay less enjoyable than we had hoped. With better organisation, maintenance and a more guest-focused approach from reception, the experience could be much better.
Having seen recent reviews, I would just like to say…we had a lovely time at AluaSoul Orotava Valley. The rooms are lovely and clean and the staff are pleasant and helpful. North Tenerife is a lovely quiet and authentic Spanish place. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and would definitely recommend AluaSoul Orotava Valley.
