Being just a couple of minutes’ away from the beach, this amazing hotel located in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife, is perfect for a romantic trip. The airport is just about 15 minutes away by car from the complex. The outdoor pool area is simply the best place, there guests can relax and unwind under the shadow of an umbrella, enjoy the sun by sunbathing or having a refreshing swim in the pool. The roof top pool will be another level of relaxation, rest on sun lounger while sipping from a margarita or swimming in the infinity pool while admiring the view of the Atlantic Ocean. The restaurant will receive them with open arms and delight them with delicious food and tasty beverages. After a full day of fun and entertainment, the rooms decorated with bright colours, equipped with all the essential amenities and cosy beds are perfect to have a good night sleep and have an unforgettable holiday.
Third time here, great location in a smart part of Las Americas. Adult only is fantastic with a great selection of facilities and activities for adults who want more than just a pool. Animation Team (Rio) are all great and make a fun time if you want that. Rooms are a very good size, we had pool view which is the best. A lot to do in the hotel which is good during the hot weather as going out can be too much. Rooftop bar was great, cocktails, pool and Spa to hang out in. Big shout to all the staff in the beach club bar and restaurant who made our stay really enjoyable with their smiles and great customer service during a hot week for everyone!! Well done all of you. Value for money here is exceptional, no children in August it’s not a difficult choice is it really, you deserve it.
Overall a nice hotel, good staff, great daily entertainment and nice food & drink. This was our second year in a row returning.
My review would be 5 out of 5 only for the room and the check out, which we were left very disappointed by. We stayed in room 478, for the first few days there was no issue, then it was like a snowball effect.
First issue was the air conditioning started leaking whilst we were at the pool, it leaked for almost an hour heavily. When I returned to the room, the pathway into the room was full of water, I slipped and hurt my knee badly, which is still not ok (pictures attached of the progression of the injury) After this, the power box made a loud bang, which left us with no power. A technician came up, fixed both compartments and left.
Our Jaccuzi bath then started leaking, each night after the bath we had to cover the floor with all of our towels, in an attempt to dry up the leak (pictures also attached) On reporting the issue, I got the impression that this was our fault due to over-filling the bath (the bath can’t overfill, it has a sensor that cuts the water off when the water goes above the jets)
Throughout our last four days, it was a constant battle from the leaking air conditioning, leaking bath and applying a cold compress to my knee and taking pain medication.
Moving to check out, I was prepared to voice my concerns, however I was only asked two questions, what was my room number, and if I was to pay cash or card for the room bill (around €250). I was never asked how was my stay or anything. When we stored our luggage as we were not leaving for a few hours, I went and requested to speak to the Reception Manager. She was very polite and apologetic for what happened. However, given the seriousness of what happened to my leg, the fact we paid over €1,500 for our stay (7 Nights - excluding our room bill at the end) and the possibility the hotel may face a personal injury claim, I do feel a discount or partial refund should have been rewarded, but I was advised this was not an option. I was offered some drinks or food, which I declined, as I’m sure as most people feel on the last 2/3 hours of your stay you don’t want this option.
We really liked this hotel, but unfortunately this experience has left a poor taste in our mouths, and I believe we may not return to Tigotan, which is a shame.
This was our 4th time staying at Tigotan and I had been a little apprehensive given some of the reviews before we went. Many of the recent comments are valid. We found that the quality of dinner is not as good as it used to be - we ate out several nights in the end. Breakfast, on the other hand, is excellent and I’m missing it now I’m back home! There are also a lot more younger groups perhaps given the new B&B option. We didn’t find this a problem but we perhaps got lucky that we didn’t have any groups in the rooms near us. The rooms are definitely looking tired and the hotel could do with a renovation to freshen it all up. That said, the location is excellent and, as most reviews rightly say, the staff are outstanding! Particular mention to Clare and the cleaning staff as well as Lucille whose attention to detail and memory is quite something! The lunch menu around the pool is decent - chips and pepperoni pizza a must! I don’t think we’ll stay again but have happy memories of our time.
There was always plenty of entertainment by the pool, including Pilates classes, foam parties, water handball, and lots of other activities that kept everyone entertained.
Food & Dining The poolside food was surprisingly good. My favourites were the Margherita pizza and the tacos, and I’m genuinely going to miss the iced coffees now that I’m back home. Breakfast also had a huge variety of options. Whether you wanted a classic cooked breakfast with sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon, or something lighter like yoghurt bowls with lots of different toppings, there was something for everyone. They also served delicious cheese toasties. A special mention to the man cooking the fried eggs every morning he was incredibly friendly and always had a smile on his face.
Our room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom had a lovely waterfall shower as well as a handheld shower head. Every day our room was cleaned, the beds were made with fresh sheets, and we were given clean towels.
Service The staff were very accommodating, even after we checked out. We had several hours to wait before our flight, and they kindly let us relax in the hotel on the comfortable couches until it was time to leave. It was also a lovely touch to be welcomed with a glass of champagne when we checked in. The only negative experience I had was with one member of staff working in the breakfast area. She was a blonde Spanish lady from the cleaning team who told me I had to put on a top or I wouldn’t be allowed to have breakfast. I was already wearing my bikini top with a cover-up over it, so I felt this was unnecessary and disappointing.
Overall Experience Aside from that one incident, everything else was fantastic. I would happily rate this hotel 5 stars and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again I do miss this hotel and I will be back.
The hotel was just ok, the pool entertainment is good if that’s what you like, beds comfortable and food average
