Booked this hotel for my partners 50th birthday as we wanted somewhere special with it being his 50th and as it was 5 star we thought this would be the best and have a luxury experience. When we arrived we were greeted well and got offered a champagne orange or water which I thought was a nice touch then got lead to our room , the room was lovely but we had a disappointing veiw from our balcony like pipe work that was just left there which was a shame however when we ventured out to the veiw of the pool it was a lovely veiw and the pool didn’t disappoint nice and big and plenty of sun loungers and sun, the pool bar eating area was lovely very reasonable priced for drinks and snacks and yet again a nice touch for complimentary nuts with the drinks. Theres just a couple of things that let this 5 star hotel down firstly we paid nearly £900 each for bed and breakfast and the breakfast was very disappointing we were expecting it to be amazing with it being 5 star but unfortunately it wasn’t we had a better breakfast in Benidorm and that was a 3 star hotel , we basically had egg on toast every morning as the bacon and sausage were awful not English bacon or sausage not crispy and the sausages were either covered in oil/grease or looked like they were raw not cooked enough, and who has broccoli and carrots for breakfast?? One morning my partner had some sort of chicken in a sauce just to try something different but it was like rubber and gristle awful and yet again who has chicken for breakfast?? Also the coffee was lousy we couldn’t even drink it and we can usually drink cheap coffee but they was like watery milky froth , I mean how can u not have nice coffee in a 5 star hotel? In the end on our last day we couldn’t bear to eat it again so I payed for us the have a sea veiw proper English breakfast and it was absolutely gorgeous, but yet again we shouldn’t have had to pay for a breakfast when we payed for 5 star luxury. And also they didn’t fill our shampoo and shower gel up all wk which was disappointing, all in all although the interior was lovely and the pool area really nice the interior and hotel itself was spotless we wouldn’t stay here again, I don’t think it’s 5star and for the money we paid it should have been, we had a lovely holiday regardless anyway and the staff were lovely and attentive.
Had a great week staff very friendly hotel was very clean. Room spacious and well maintained all and all a great holiday thank you .
Reception area very impressive and check in quick and staff very pleasant. Room on top floor. My granddaughter loved the glass lifts. There was a child's bed for her as well as a box of toiletries and a bathrobe. Nicely furnished and well cleaned daily. The pool is large. Steps similar to a beach entry and 1.4m deep at middle. Floaters only allowed in one area. Splas pool looked quiet and for little children. The beach is just outside and plenty of shops and bars. Hard Rock in the grounds of the complex. Two à la carte restaurants. Good size outside dining areas. Lots of choice in buffet but signage not always very clear and set up quite high. Children couldn't see the display and some shorter adults had difficulty. Drinks served by staff. We were able to use the gym to shower on final day.
We found the ground floor extremely noisy, kids running past at midnight, doors banging, you can hear next door in the bathroom, food was not good at all, pool was good never felt busy as very big, always managed to get a bed if there very early, room nice and clean, but I found that we couldn’t sleep to after 1230 due to people going back to their room, or arriving, some staff was rude with British , and nice with Spanish.
I took my 6 year old granddaughter for a week at the Mediterranean palace hotel, where we had a great time. The kids club was fantastic and the staff were all amazing! The activities were great fun and this is the first time after 5 holidays together including a Med cruise, I felt confident in leaving her in the care of others. My granddaughter especially loved Axel & cried when we had to leave. We will return to this hotel, which is something I have never done before.
