The most fantastic hotel, a dream, from the moment we booked and arrived, Such amazing staff and a special compliment to Kelly in the shop, so friendly, a credit to your hotel as all your staff are.
It's a nice very large hotel which has gone through a refurbishment but if you book a pool view room expect a lot of noise as some of the entertainment team seem to be deaf. Breakfast is good, snacks at the pool the usual fayre and dinner is ok, nothing special. Rooms are not massive but really nice with walk in showers but only two small drawers. Staff universally helpful and friendly.
Not a 5 stars hotel! Noisy, impossible to rest,
We spent 8 days in Mediterranean palace (nothing to see with a palace) with our 3 kids, July 2026.
What a deception from many points, we were taken for cash cows and did not understand how it is possible that the resort has 5 stars.
It all started when we arrived and needed to ask the luggage carrier to help us, whereas he was standing outside and saw that we were unloading our car.. At the front desk, we were handle by Marcela and she was not friendly. Talking quick and not smiling, even not proposing welcome drink as we red on the review .. Arriving in the room was Ok. We got connecting rooms on the second floor, and everything was ready for our kids. Anyway we booked Mountain View, we just have view on ugly buildings and street..isolation with the street is nevertheless good! Beds are good, towels quality is ok and recyclable stuff are doing the job. First night, we discovered how poor is the isolation of rooms: doors are smashing until midnight and the day after, smashing again from 7 in the morning.. impossible to rest. Cleaning staff is not quite as well, talking loud in the corridor. You can also hear your neighbours talking in their rooms as walls and doors are made of carton.. Even flip flop noise of people passing in front of your room can be clearly heard, imagine with real shoes when people are coming late by night to there rooms. The drain from the room above you is passing in the room, so every flush on top of you will pass close by. We informed the staff and guest relation, but the only proposition we got was to move close to elevator 4th floor.. hotel was not fully booked, and the could have proposed us an upgrade or something where we could have noiseless stay. The only solution they gave, was to move on fourth floor close to elevators (what a solution!!) Balcony is tight and does not provide any privacy, chairs located on it are noisy when moving, definitely not the good choice for 5 stars. After that we went to restaurant and situation did not improve. We selected half board and once again what a deception. Food is daily the same, no cooking show or special dishes from the town, as we are used to find in regular 5 stars. Meat is low quality same for fishes that are definitely frozen stuffs. Even a single burger is not tasty, the meat is just crap , kids were really disappointed and disgusted. Fruits are coming from tin can (they do not hide it), and juice are not hand made. Maybe the orange juice! Once again far away from 5 stars standards. Nevertheless once you are in the trap you can’t go backward: Half board does not included even a single bottle of spring water and as soon as you arrive in restaurant they will catch you to pay again and again. Sparkling 50cl of water will be charged 3.5 euro, sale for soft drinks and small beers. Wine glass is around 5 euro for really poor quality.. We tried to come with plastic bottles from the room and were asked not to come with street water! What a jock. The resort does not respect Spanish law, because since 7/2022, all bars, restaurants and hotels have to provide drinkable water to their guests for free. Breakfast might be the only meal that is acceptable, continental style with sparkling wine for free and a spring machine water.. Regarding entertainment now, you will find video game room where kids had good time. (Take cash for that)… A bunch of noisy entertainment around the pool are proposed along the day (aqua gym at 12, games by the afternoon).. once again in a five stars resort, you should not be disturb by entertainment if you do not want to. Impossible to rest by the pool, being disturbed by entertainment. Hard to believe that they did not previously think a place where those activities can take place without involving the whole clients…!! Shows by night are acceptable but not 5 stars at all! There are ping pong table close to the pool, but they do not provide rackets, you have to buy it! Same for gym, you have to pay for it! 6 euro per day or 20 for the week, not acceptable for a five stars. All is made to take always more money from you! We visited the mini club infrastructures that look new and clean: climbing walk, water parc activity, multilingual staff , everything is there. Only the music room has no music instruments as shown on the hotel website. Last issue we like to let the community knows, is regarding « à la carte » restaurants. When you arrive for the check in, they will give you vouchers that allow you one meal in Italian or meat restaurant. Once again it’s a trap ! We selected meat restaurant for the birthday of our kid and when you arrive, only one piece of meat is included.. all the other one are subjected to 25 euro extra. We tried the free one, slices of beef in a dressing, really not tasty at all, far away from our expectations. The following review has been written one day before the end of out stay in order to prevent other families to fall in the trap and to help them place there money in something different. We contacted the manager answering to trip advisor review : Sir Crespo Alessandro, but never got any feedback from his side. So we can consider that, despite he likes to answer the reviews to show resort cares about clients, when you are in the hotel, you are just good to pay and your confort does not matter ! As an advice, It is maybe a better choice to spend 25% more in other real 5 stars in Tenerife than to come in a fake one. It was our fifth stay on the Island and we tried many resorts (4,5 stars).. Mediterranean palace is far beyond and follow my advice, do not try the experience. We also traveled world wide with real 5 stars chain : club med, ponant, orient express, barcelo, movenpick.. Mediterranean is just a FAKE! We tried to get a refund when back home. The hotel manager do not reconsider all the listed points and the only final answer given was : you were the only one to complain. I wish that you, as a reader will not be the next!
This was our second year staying at this hotel. We returned here because our first year was such a positive experience with no issues with our room, lovely staff and we loved the location. Unfortunately this year was different. On a positive note, we enjoyed breakfast every morning with the staff working tirelessly to ensure everyone was taken care of. Our room was always cleaned to the highest standard by the housekeeping staff and they always had a smile and a good morning for guests. The pool bar staff were phenomenal even when so busy they made sure to work swiftly and give the guest the best possible service. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for those that work in the Reception area. Firstly, I’d just like to point out I don’t complain ever in hotels and I never write reviews but the way I was made feel by the receptionists in this hotel, I think other people need to be made aware. I paid for a suite in the hotel for the second year in a row as we enjoyed this type of room last year. We had an issue with our television in our room and I asked reception would they move us to a quieter room with no tv issues, they kindly agreed. We got a nicer room but we now had issues with the television in this room. I went down to the reception to see if someone could come up to fix it. This interaction was extremely negative as the woman barely made eye contact with me, stared at her computer when I was talking and just dismissed me by saying someone will come up soon. No apology, no concern and definitely an attitude. I walked away feeling as though I was an inconvenience and they were not taking me seriously. This type of interaction happened FIVE more times. Everyday I would have to go down to reception, explain the situation to someone new, they would write my room number down on a blank piece of paper, tell me someone from IT would fix it today and then no one would show up. It became so irritating and annoying that eventually I just gave up saying anything. Not one of the receptionist ever contacted me again to see was the issue with the TV resolved. Yet everytime I would walk past reception, I could see majority of the staff sitting on their personal mobile phones underneath the desk. Not a good look in my opinion when so many other staff members are working so hard in the hotel. I am aware that a television not working in a hotel room isn’t the end of the world but we are not big drinkers and like to relax at night by watching a film together. And when you have paid thousands of euro for a room you expect everything in that room to be perfect and it wasn’t. You’d even expect for the money I paid for staff to fix any problems you have in your room, they did not. When we checked out, the one of many receptionist they have working just took our key cards and said ‘your all set’. There was no ‘how was your stay?’ ‘Have a safe flight’, ‘was everything ok?’ ‘Thank you for staying with us’, nothing. I understand it is a massive hotel with a huge number of guests but I walked away from that hotel with that as my last impression and it was certainly not a good one. Overall, so many staff work so hard to make the guests experience as positive as possible. However, it is a shame that the reception area do not share that same goal. We wish the hotel the very best but we will not be back for a third year.
we enjoyed our stay, great food, clean rooms, lots of activities for a toddler specially the waterslides, pool always clean , polite and attentive staff, will definitely come back again
