This luxurious apartment hotel is located in the south of Tenerife, between Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas. It has fantastic views of the Golf Course and Atlantic Ocean. The airport is just a bout 15 minutes’ drive away. There are public transportation links a few steps from the hotel and offer bus service to the area's tourist attractions. Guests will have the opportunity to rest in the outdoor pool area sunbathing, relaxing under the shadow of an umbrella or having a refreshing swim. The rooms decorated with bright and soothing colours are equipped with all the needed amenities for a comfortable and memorable stay.
Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 2 outdoor swimming pools, a 24-hour fitness centre and bicycles to rent. Additional features at this aparthotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and babysitting (surcharge). Guests can catch a ride to the beach or shopping on the complimentary shuttle.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Glasgow has a strap line, "people make Glasgow." Well, based on our experience, the staff make Gran Oasis Resort!
We spent a lovely week here as first time visitors. Every person we spoke to throughout the resort were so friendly and helpful.
Like most we were all inclusive which isn't what we would normally do when on holiday. There was lots to choose from and a different theme everyday.
The beds were very comfortable and the air-conditioned rooms exactly what we hoped for.
We had no issues getting sunbeds as there were plenty around the three pools, but imagine this might be harder in peak summer.
The hotel and grounds are kept spotlessly clean.
There was nightly entertainment, but we never ventured there so can't comment on that.
Given it's location in Playa de las Americas and the amount of stairs and steep ramps, it's probably not a place for those with walking difficulties. However that is noted when reviewing the resort.
It's a mile or so to the centres of either Los christianos and Las Americas.
All in all a great week spent here and obviously a family favourite for so many different nationalities.
Shambles for room Availability. After leaving the UK on a 6am flight and the early morning travelling To the airport. Arrived at Gran Oasis tired. Only to be advised no room available and a universal check In time of 3pm; which Is a Worldwide standard. I have not experienced this answer in many years of travelling and staying at 4/5 star hotels. On trying to check in reception advised we call back at half hourly intervals to see if our room was ready. When I did so met with aggressive receptionist who reacted arrogantly, repeating the worldwide standard check In Time. When I reacted to their behaviour I was called out by the manager! Customer service at its best. Be rude to me and want me to apologise when I’m rude back. Jet2 holidays. Please ensure you confirm The check in times for hotels on bookings when arranging early morning flights. Disputes of this kind are unsatisfactory for both the hotel Staff under pressure and a tired guest.
We stayed at Gran Oasis Resort for a week as a group of six: three adults, two 10-year-olds and a 14-year-old, and overall, we had a really lovely holiday.
The rooms and facilities
The rooms were a great size, with plenty of space for everyone. One of the best things was that the layout offered privacy for the adults and children.
The pool areas were great, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the sunshine. There were some brilliant activities, and the foam party was definitely a highlight!
A special mention has to go to Luigi, one of the lifeguards. He was fantastic, very attentive and clearly took his job seriously. I actually saw him jump straight into the pool when he noticed a young boy struggling, which was reassuring to see. He also patched up my son’s foot twice after he cut it on a tile on the pool and ensured maintenance saw to the problem swiftly, His care and quick response really stood out, and he deserves recognition for the way he looks after guests.
Staff and atmosphere
All the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. We visited during the Scottish October half-term, so there were lots of Scottish families staying, and everyone was lovely. We met some great staff and other guests, which made the atmosphere feel really friendly and relaxed.
Food and drinks
I’ve seen quite a few reviews commenting on the food, so I wanted to share our experience. There were always familiar options available at the snack bar, including chips, hot dogs and burgers. The main restaurant had different themed nights, always fresh pasta and salads also plain pasta for kids I have a very picky child and he loved being able to choose the plain pasta and try different sauces , although the food did become a little repetitive after a week.
Our favourite was the American BBQ night! We also chose to eat out twice in Las Américas, which gave us a bit of variety.
The all-inclusive drinks weren’t particularly strong, but this is a family resort, so I think that’s understandable. Overall, we felt the hotel offered good value for money, particularly for families travelling with children.
Entertainment
The main area where I think the hotel could improve is the evening entertainment. It seemed geared more towards younger children, and although this is great for families with little ones, it would be nice to see more activities aimed at teenagers.
More quizzes, family games and entertainment suitable for older children would be a welcome addition. The entertainment also seemed to finish around 10.30 pm, so there wasn’t much happening later in the evening.
Location
The hotel isn’t particularly close to many attractions or amenities within walking distance, but it’s only a short taxi ride to Las Américas. We went there a couple of times and found it easy enough to get around.
We had booked this holiday to relax, unwind and spend time by the pool, so the location wasn’t a major issue for us.
A note about cockroaches
Unfortunately, my mum did find cockroaches in her room. However, none appeared in my room, and when we reported the issue, the hotel staff responded by carrying out a deep clean. We didn’t see any more afterwards.
As a practical tip for anyone staying here, we also placed a dinner plate over the balcony drain at night, as this seemed to help prevent them coming up. Cockroaches can be an issue in warm climates, although I appreciate that finding them in your accommodation isn’t pleasant.
Overall verdict
We had a really enjoyable week at Gran Oasis Resort. The spacious accommodation, great pool areas, friendly atmosphere and attentive staff made it a lovely family holiday.
While the food could be more varied and the evening entertainment could cater better for teenagers and adults , I think this hotel offers good value for money if you’re travelling with children and looking for a relaxed, pool-focused holiday.

My wife treated me and our daughter to a holiday in Tenerife. When we were picking a resort, the Gran Oasis looked a bit more expensive, but I persuaded her to pick this one as the photos looked good. I’ve got to say that when we arrived, my breath was taken away. Our apartment was clean, well laid out and with all the facilities we needed. The rooms were spacious and airy, with a terrace outside the main bedroom and a veranda outside the upstairs living room.
The pool areas and the pools themselves were clean, with plenty of sun loungers. Of course, you had to be quick to get your preferred spot, but there were more than enough to go around. The grounds were well kept; like a little paradise.
We didn’t use all the facilities, such as the spa and gym, but there is a well appointed shop on site, a games arcade and a couple of bars. The restaurant was good, and the food was well presented in a buffet style. Each dish was replenished quickly when needed. There was something for everyone, and always loads of fruit and vegetables as well. I agree that the food could be a bit repetitive, but there was a theme to every night, which we enjoyed as we looked forward to what might be on the menu that night. You could vary things easily by modifying what you took from the salad bar before visiting the hot plates.
The staff were amazing, and always very friendly, in particular the staff checking us into to dining area who always engaged with our daughter as she tried to speak Spanish with them. Also reception staff were brilliant, Eliza being one I remember who helped use with late check out.
The entertainment was good, with lots of activities around the pool for kids, as well as the evening. Adult entertainment was a bit limited, but I was content chilling with a book.
There were only a couple of downsides. One was that the hotel WiFi could be a bit intermittent. It worked well in the apartment living area, but dropped out repeatedly in the bedroom.
The other downside was some of the other guests weren’t always considerate of the family oriented nature of the resort. In particular there were a couple of groups of men who could be a bit raucous and using inappropriate at the bar seating area close to our apartment, or in the pool area, which spoilt the family friendly atmosphere for us a little bit. Still, that’s not the fault of the hotel, and the staff often went above and beyond.
Was impressed enough to make sure we come back next year.
We had a great stay here, friendly staff, great rooms, and good food. Not too far for us to walk with our small child to the beachfront and back. Just a great stay.
