One of the biggest features of the Columbus Aparthotel is undoubtedly the superb arrangement of swimming pools. Divided into distinct sections, the pool 'complex' is a beautiful design feature as well as a great place to spend a few hours… maybe even a long afternoon, drifting into evening.
That's another wonderful thing about the Columbus Aparthotel – the very laidback attitude to life. Outside in Playa de las Americas, it's all hustle and bustle, but here in the grounds of the Columbus, it's all long afternoons by the pool and long cool drinks. And talking of relaxing. Do check out the sauna and Jacuzzis. There's still plenty more to the Columbus Aparthotel: a handy on-site mini market, laundry facility and games room for example. The Columbus Aparthotel also benefits from generously sized rooms – and larger rooms (with lounges) are available if you wish. Satellite TV is also available for a small fee.

The popular Columbus Aparthotel is enviably located in the bustling beach resort of Playa de las Americas, just 800 metres from the beach and close to many shops, restaurants and bars. The main restaurant offers a variety of international cuisine whilst the bar is the perfect place to relax overlooking the pool.
We had a lovely time here. The staff were all friendly and the place was clean and cleaned everyday. Food was ok and plenty to eat everyday. The restaurant in the corner is amazing you have to pay but the prices are great and the lady who works there is so lovely! Location is perfect I’m close walking distant to everything! Highly recommend Siam park! No entertainment but felt like we did not need it! Always a sunbed available. Lovely hidden roof terrace on 6th floor with amazing views.loved it here
Great location. Very noisy hotel. Music is extremely loud when we were having a drink beside pool. Didn't (in 11 nights) get a chance to sunbathe there as all of the beds and umbrellas were taken before 8.30 in morning. Some beds were left with towels until 3pm with noone on. Would be better if all rooms were assigned beds or the life guard took towels off after being on a hour without people.
We went to beach about half hour away.
First week no noise but second week a lot of shouting in corridors at 3ish. Didn last long just people coming back I suppose.
Rooms are lovely and clean and staff are friendly.
Shower rooms have glass doors and are boiling for when you are leaving. So didnt feel fresh before coach pick up.
Overall nice hotel but not for us until you can get the sunbed situation under control.
After looking at the recent reviews on this hotel before me and my partner went on holiday, we were both expecting great things. However, I don’t have a single complaint about this hotel and its facilities.
Room- was cleaned when we needed it to, had great facilities (we were staying all inclusive so only needed a fridge) the beds were really comfy and we had a lovely view from our balcony which overlooked the pools. The air con was very nice in our room too.
Food- a really nice selection every night, breakfast was basic but what you would expect, they had various theme nights which were really tasty and I was always full. We also had a pizza from the onsite pizzeria which was amazing.
Drinks- there was a great selection of drinks on offer for an all inclusive, they had a great reusable cup policy which was only 1 euro per cup and you got it back when you returned your cup at the end of the holiday.
Pool and sunbeds- there was sunbed wars here 😂 we were never up early enough to compete in these but whenever we did want to sunbathe there was always a couple available, there was 3 different solariums at this hotel and the one on the top floor is a hidden gem if you want a quiet relaxing sunbathe. The pools are absolutely amazing really big and there was also a jacuzzi pool in the middle and a small hidden pool down the side of the pizzeria.
Other facilities- there is an onsite gym and spa at this hotel. I had a 25 minute massage at the gym which was 45 euros, although this seemed expensive it was hands down one of the nicest massages I have ever had 😂 I almost went back for another one. There is also an onsite mini market/ gift shop which had some nice bits.
The past reviews complained about noise at night from young people, however we were never woken up in the night, even when we went clubbing, everyone else who did was very respectful and quiet when in the hotel.
Overall, we had a brilliant stay at this hotel and would highly recommend to anyone couples or families. The staff are welcoming and friendly and we were highly satisfied with our holiday 🩷
We came here for my birthday on a self catering board, hotel do offer all inclusive but as we had done our research hotel was in such a fantastic location to loads of bars and restaurants who charge very little we found this suited us perfectly. Room was clean bright and modern we had a pool facing room and the beds pillow were very comfortable slept very well. Kettle in room. 3 pools were good and sunbeds seemed to be available during our stay with no issues not so sure during peak season if this would be the same. Trips fantastic prices we never had a bad meal our whole stay in any of the restaurants we went to. We loved it so much have just booked hotel again for march next year same board self catering as the location is just perfect for us to explore and eat out. I can see us coming back for many years to come. Can't comment on food at hotel as we ate out we booked based on location friendly staff and nice clean modern rooms.
AVOID THIS HOTEL – AWFUL EXPERIENCE AT KN COLUMBUS

I would strongly urge people to think twice before booking the KN Columbus Hotel. Our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish, and this is definitely not a hotel I would ever return to or recommend.
Cockroaches in our room 🤢
On arrival, we found multiple cockroaches in our first room (357). This was completely unacceptable and extremely upsetting. When we reported this to staff, we were met with a very rude attitude and were initially refused a room move. We had to ask to speak to a manager before anything was done.
We were then moved to room 262, which was old, battered and not what we had booked or expected. It also did not face the pool as we had originally booked.
What made the situation even worse was that I was forced to sign a form saying I was “happy” with the room swap, despite the fact that I was not happy with the situation at all. I felt pressured into signing something I did not agree with.
Formal complaint completely ignored
I sent a formal complaint to the hotel’s email address explaining everything that had happened. Despite this, I received absolutely no response throughout the entire week we were there. No apology, no explanation and no attempt to resolve the situation.
Food was disappointing
The food was another major letdown. We found food to be undercooked and there was hardly any choice available. For an all-inclusive holiday, we expected much better standards and more variety.
You also have to pay for cups for your all-inclusive drinks, which is ridiculous. Surely cups should be provided as part of an all-inclusive package?
Sunbed wars and rude people
The sunbed situation was honestly unbelievable. There were actual arguments and fights over sunbeds, and it was extremely stressful trying to get a place around the pool.
When we needed 4 sunbeds together, we were told we were being ‘rude’ and that because ‘we are young, we think we can get away with being greedy’! This was extremely insulting and completely unnecessary. We were paying customers who simply wanted to enjoy our holiday.
Overall
This hotel completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable holiday. From cockroaches in our room, rude staff, being pressured to sign a form, poor food, extra charges for cups and the ridiculous sunbed situation, there were problems throughout our stay.
The way our complaint was handled was particularly disappointing. We expected basic customer service, cleanliness and respect, but unfortunately we did not receive that.
My advice: Save your money and book somewhere else. There are much better hotels out there where you can enjoy your holiday without having to deal with this level of stress and disappointment.
KN Columbus Hotel, you need to seriously look at your standards and how your guests are treated. This was not the holiday experience we paid for.
i know there are always bad reviews on hotels but please take this one in to consideration because we wish we had listened to some of the reviews!
