Outside in Playa de las Americas, it's all hustle and bustle, but here in the grounds of the Columbus, it's all long afternoons by the pool and long cool drinks. And talking of relaxing. The Columbus Aparthotel also benefits from generously sized rooms – and larger rooms (with lounges) are available if you wish. Satellite TV is also available for a small fee.

The popular Columbus Aparthotel is enviably located in the bustling beach resort of Playa de las Americas, just 800 metres from the beach and close to many shops, restaurants and bars. The main restaurant offers a variety of international cuisine whilst the bar is the perfect place to relax overlooking the pool.
Me and my partner stayed here for 15 nights on a self catering basis.
Room- prior to arriving I requested a room on the higher floors and close to Paddy's O'Kelly's so I could people watch whilst sitting on the balcony. I'm happy to say this request was accepted and we were in a room on the 5th floor. Yes it was noisy at night due to bars in the area having loud music and people making noise in the street but we kept our balcony doors open every night and still slept very well. If it's an issue for you close your doors and this blocks out pretty much all of the noise.
The room was spacious and well equipped, we especially loved the full size fridge and small freezer compartment to keep our drinks cold.
The beds are 2 large singles pushed together and were very comfortable, the only complaint on the beds is that the sheets weren't changed at all during our stay.
The bathroom light is annoying and goes on/off randomly so we just kept the bathroom door closed at night.
Location- absolutely fabulous! You're literally a 15 minute walk in most directions to get where you want whether this be Siam Mall, Siam Park, the golden mile, Los Christianos, Costa Adeje, the strip and the plenty of beaches. There's also plenty of bars and restaurants and supermarkets within a minutes walk and local bus stops and taxi rank.
Facilities- we were self catering and didn't eat here but we did buy drinks (€4 for a large beer, €7 for cocktails). Yes, you pay €1 for the plastic cup but you get that back when you return the cup. The bar staff were very pleasant.
Pool- the pools and pool area themselves are great and kept clean. However, in 15 nights we didn't once manage to get sunloungers near the pool. Frustratingly people would place towels down on the loungers near the pool then not be seen on them at all until late afternoon. This really needs to stop ! It's selfish behaviour and the hotel should not allow it to continue. Thankfully there are 2 terraces either ends of the pool which are nice so we ended up getting loungers there most of the time. There is also a roof terrace which is nice and quiet and has showers for cooling off but there is no toilet so you have to go down to the ground floor for this.
Overall - we've been to Playa De Las Americas many times over the last 30 years and stayed in different hotels each time, some way more expensive and better facilities/no sunbed wars etc but KN Columbus is our favourite in terms of location and price. Therefore, we will definitely be staying here again when we visit Tenerife in 2027 and would totally recommend this hotel to anyone.
Another fab stay at hotel we were there for 3 weeks all inclusive didn't really eat much at AI but it definitely covered the drinks especially for hubby lol, Food was fantastic at The Corner located at bottom right inside complex never disappointing, no entertainment during night but something on in evening except Sat Sun, only thing I didn't like was although our room was cleaned and fresh towels every day our beds weren't changed the whole 3 weeks which is terrible as your obviously sweating during night, booked up again for next year
Great for the money ! Staff were lovely and very helpful, busy atmosphere, most coming down in the mornings to put their towels out as you expect most places but there are plenty of beds even up on the terraces if you cant find space next to the pool. We werent all inclusive and haven't tried the food so cannot judge on that. Drinks were pricier than drinking out if you are self-catering but it's a hotel so what you expect. Outside hotel is noisy as it is on a main road. Lots of car horns and shouting and coaches however no internal disruptions. Still managed to get good nights sleep on comfy beds. On a whole the rooms were fairly clean. I could point out a few issues like a couple stains on the balcony table, the shower would often leak and I think the water wouldnt drain in the shower really well so we did have a small bathroom flood. Despite knowing they mop the floors daily the floors do still feel a bit dirty (unsure why), just worth wearing socks or bringing slippers. Nothing to complain about for the money. Theres a pull out rack on the balcony very handy for towels and swim wear. Great amount of amenities in the room (kettle, hairdryer, safe). Location can't be much better, everything is walking distance. 10-15 minutes to veronicas, 10-15 minutes to the golden mile, 25 minutes to los cristianos beach, and about the same to costa adeje. If you aren't keen on walking, there is a taxi rank just a minute or 2 walk from the hotel which I have never seen empty. Overall great hotel with a great atmosphere.
This is my second stay at thia hotel this year, and once again I was happy with my experience. As a returning customer, I really appreciate the sea view room - a lovely touch from the hotel and a nice recognition of my loyalty. There wasn't too much for me to complain about. The only things I have noticed this time were that the A/C was working, but didn't see to cool the room quite enough (although that could simply be my personal preference). I also experience the same issue with the bathroom light as during my previous stay. As it is senson - operated, the light switches off while you're still in the shower, which can be little inconvenient. Additionally in my room 587, the headrest light wasn't working. Aside from these small points, everything else was great. The staff, as always, are doing a brilliant job throughout the hotel - friendly, helpful and professional. I'm definitely planning to cone back again in the future. Thank you for another enjoyable stay!
Great hotel, excellent location. Only complaint is the beds are too comfortable. Was sound asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow 😂😂. Second time staying here and definitely be back
