Located in Playa de las Américas and only 10 minutes from the beach, this family-friendly complex is situated close to a water park and at less than 2 km from the city centre. The Tenerife Sur airport is at 15 km distance. For those wanting to practice their swing, there is a golf course nearby the hotel. Visitors can also find restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. After enjoying a day on the beach, guests might relax in its luminous rooms, which are designed to welcome both couples and families. When it comes to dining, the hotel has a wonderful buffet restaurant with show cooking. Wide range of activities available for the whole family, daily entertainment program and a recreational area featuring table football, billiards and bowls.
First time staying in Oro Negro, and for what we paid, I really can’t fault the place. Few mixed reviews but I think people really need to manage expectations. Seems some people expect champagne on a lemonade budget.
The staff have been great all through our stay. Very friendly, always say hello to you, happy to help and clearly work very hard. This extends from reception to cleaning to restaurant to the entertainment team.
Check in straightforward as was checkout (which is 12pm).
Our room was basic but functional and clean. Had air con which was essential in mid July. Rooms cleaned every day, new bed sheets and towels every other day.
Pool area is clean and well maintained. Sunbeds unlocked at 9am on the solarium, 10am by the pool. No mad scramble but would recommend getting down by 9ish if you want a good location and umbrella. We had no issues all week but were here the week before schools break up for summer.
Entertainment team had something on everyday during the day and evening so if you wanted a chill one all week, you’d have plenty going on here. Water polo, aqua bikes, aqua gym, darts, and evening entertainment of singers, acrobats, karaoke, bit of everything.
Restaurant had plenty of choice during breakfast and dinner. Yes, it can be a bit repetitive if you’re here a week or longer but this isn’t isolated to this hotel, that’s pretty much any half board or all inclusive hotel you go to within this price range. But there was always enough choice to mix things up.
Freshly cooked omelettes in the morning in front of you, same with steaks and chicken and pork in the evenings.
Location wise, 10 mins walk to Las Americas beachfront and 15 mins to Golden Mile so easy enough to walk around. Very slightly uphill when walking back but nothing too heavy. Couple of supermarkets and restaurants and bars even closer within 5 mins walk if you didn’t want to go far either.
We booked through TUI, return flights from UK, transfers, half board for a week for about £650 each mid July. Really can’t fault our stay for the price.
Mix of families, couples and groups of friends staying by the looks of it, mixed aged group but really chill vibes.
So be wary of negative reviews of people saying this is the “worst stay ever” and all that. It’s a solid 3* hotel and would recommend.
This is a good 3 star hotel. All the staff are polite and a special thanks to reception. Rooms are clean and air conditioned. Location is good for bars and restaurants. Pool is cleaned daily. Restaurant is OK can always find something to eat. Be back in September. A good around Hotel for a 3 star. Thank you for a great holiday.
We have just returned from the oro negro, this being our second visit this year, we were here in feb and are coming back out in sept The hotel is in a lovely location just far enough away from the noisy area of americas but within easy walking distance of some lovely restaurants. The hotel is comfortable, we go for the upgrade and have had no problems at all with the room ( we ask for the same room) as my husband has a lovely view of the golf club, sea and pool areas Housekeeping is excellent room always cleaned very well Breakfast is very good Eve meal is variable some things could be hotter, but you wont go hungry as plenty of it and its refreshed very quickly, we do eat out in the eve as so many restaurants to choose from in americas and christianos which is a short taxi drive or walkable one way, we tend to walk there and taxi back We only use the roof top pool area as we like the peace and quiet, the bottom pools are unfortunately the usual hassle of getting a sunbed as people are very territorial about there position and too be honest i cant be doing with the noise, so the rooftop suits us perfectly nice atmosphere, calm and no children! Now the only criticisms i have are they could benefit from a toilet on the roof top and the floors and pool could be cleaned inside like the downstairs one every morning! The floor didn't see a sweep or a mop all the time we were there the floor had a sticky patch that was very annoying, and had the floor been mopped every morning this would not have been an issue The pool needed a clean around the edges!as that wasnt touched whilst we were there, but the lovely lifeguard was meticulous about cleaning the glass panels around the perimeter. Overall a lovely Hotel for our needs, 3 times in one year for us so it must be okay👍
Clean hotel would not recommend if you have children no entertainment for them if you have dinner booked as part of holiday you can’t even get soft drinks with meal for kids or adults like fruit juice or water you have to pay extra and if you take your own water they complain not enough variety for children to eat drink is included in dinner but for breakfast it is but you can’t get it for dinner so have to pay or go thirsty you pay a lot of money for the dinner
All good except I'll never go back there because they force you to buy your drinks (including soft drinks and water) during your meal. They even took my water bottle away during the meal, and then returned it to me after, even though the temperature was mid 20's most evenings , so it felt a bit like a scam.
