Cockroach in our room. They used a strong chemical while we were there at 11.30 pm. Constantly smoking in the adult pool, while lifeguard was on his phone, we spoke to manager, nothing changed. Instead of one bed, two beds joined together that moved while we were sleeping..my husband fell in between them. Food not in the right temperature. Staff on the other hand were outstanding. Always smiling, chatty and friendly, also helpful. You could say it is a 5 star hotel only because of the saff
We had a great week at this hotel. We were two adults and two teenagers (16 and 17). The kids had a brilliant time. There were a few suitable activities such as volleyball, football and water polo, but most of the time they enjoyed wandering round with other teenagers (there were loads!). It was a safe environment for them to have independence and meet and enjoy the company of others. They ate, drank (soft drinks!) and ‘played’ together all week and we didn’t see much of them! For the adults, there were plenty of pools and sun beds and no need to reserve beds. We loved Samuel who provided daily yoga or Pilates and also led the aqua gym sessions which were great fun. There were also activities like candle making, jewellery making and wine tasting available but it’s all very relaxing and not frantic like some resorts. The food was delicious with plenty of choice. We were full-board and liked the fact that everything was good quality including branded drinks and ‘free’ Cote D’or ice creams by the pool! There was also access to chips/nuggets/wings/burgers all day which also suited the teenagers! The rooms were very comfortable and quiet and we used the bar by the reception for pre dinner drinks which is away from the pool. Entertainment is low key but fun. All done by 10:30 which suited us! Would definitely return.
Lovely hotel, really fun activities, especially candle making and glass jewellery making. Would definitely recommend coming here
Superb staff, great location, fantastic food. Great family room with connecting door. Several pools making it feel spacious
Don’t be put off by some of the odd reviews of this hotel. We had a week there (3 adults, 3 kids) in August ‘26 and loved it. Of course it’s not a 5 star hotel for Dubai, but it’s definitely better than any other European resort I’ve stayed at. Maybe it should be 4.5 stars. There were some things needed improving, but nothing that would ruin your holiday. The staff were fantastic, and the evening entertainment was fun. Location is okay, and although planes constantly fly just north of the hotel, it’s never annoying. The buffet wasn’t the best ever, but it’s more than adequate and there was plenty of nice food. The shortage of sun loungers - there’s usually somewhere to sit/lie. You’ve just got to look around and be imaginative. We didn’t really struggle though. Overall, it’s a really nice hotel. Yes, it’s breezy, and yes, there’s the odd cockroach, but hardly any dramas. Los Cristianos is a 25 euro, 20 minute taxi ride. Bit expensive, but hey ho. Kayaking in the lake was fun, but over quite quickly. Our kids loved the hotel and made friends easily due to the basketball court, and the great hotel staff.
