Like a precious jewel in an idyllic setting, the Luxurious 5-star Boutique Hotel Royal River will open its doors on May 1, 2020.
Located in the most privileged area of the south of Tenerife, this exclusive Adults Only Resort of 50 villas with swimming pool is charmed with 3 spectacular views: the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean on the right, the green of the Costa Adeje golf course in front and the silhouette of the mountains and the Roque del Conde on the left.
Its elegant architecture and the originality of its contemporary design, together with the masterful use of natural materials from the island, make this luxury hotel a unique reference in the Canary Islands.
In its facilities, there are 29 River Suites surrounded by two large pools-river; a central pool with Cocoon loungers and tropical palm trees; 17 villas with private pool and 4 luxurious stilt houses on a lake with turquoise waters.
In order to enrich this experience of relaxation and romance, the Royal River has an infinity pool in the hotel's solarium to enjoy magnificent sunsets, a Spa with a thermal cave inspired by a Mexican cenote and a Hamman for beauty therapies inspired by Arab culture.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments and facials. You can take advantage of recreational amenities such as a health club, an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. Additional amenities at this hotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and a banquet hall.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Wow. In the words of my wife, you feel like a member of the Royal family when you stay here. Having spent four nights at the sister resort (the Royal Garden) prior to arriving here we arrived with an extremely high bar to score this against and it delivered!
From the moment you walk in, the sheer luxurious quality of everything stands out - it simply oozes class. And, when you walk into the Villa (we had a Majestic Villa with Private Pool), your breath is taken away by the magnificence of the whole experience and setting.
Relaxation is integral and the resort cater for your every need with regular visits to offer replenishment of water, ice, towels, tea and coffee - what’s not to like?!
A swim in both the Green and Blue Rivers is a must, as is a chill in the jacuzzi. The Spa facilities are incredible, and for an evening meal you’ll do well to find anywhere that betters the experience of “The Top” restaurant. Incredible food, service and atmosphere.
Oh, and then there’s the poolside breakfast - wonderfully delivered and managed by Nancy, a jewel in the crown.
I can’t praise this highly enough 6 out of 5 is what I would give it if I could!
I hope we can go back again in the future but if we don’t it will be a memory that will live with us forever.
There was an article in The Telegraph newspaper about The Royal River Hotel and the article was spot on. The surroundings, views and accommodation are faultless. The hotel is graceful, sophisticated, lavish, an oasis of tranquillity and the staff, without exception, are professional and friendly without being intrusive. What The Telegraph article also said is that there are four restaurants but what it didn’t say is that there is only one open at a time. With the exception of a BBQ and an Italian evening, dinner is always in the same restaurant. Wonderful as the food is, after a stay of over a week, the menu becomes rather repetitive and just occasionally a simple pasta dish is all you want rather than fine dining. I would also say that the drinks are eye wateringly expensive and measures frugal. Surely spirit measures should be at least a double and a glass of wine large not small? We had a wonderful holiday but if we visited again it would definitely be B&B in order to go out for dinner some evenings and Royal River please review the cost, or at least the size, of your drinks.
This is a return visit. We were hoping the food situation would have changed, it hasn’t and neither has the limited menu. Do not pay for half board if you would like variety. How a hotel of this size can only offer one restaurant open each evening and have the same menu is very disappointing. Italian tasting menu was at best ok.. The grounds and villas are beautiful and I feel they trade on this and the staff who are exceptional. Royal River you really do let yourself down with your limited food menus and only one bar and restaurant open each evening. We will not be returning .
This hotel did not disappoint. The room was immaculate and well appointed. The blackout blinds (electric opening) were awesome, the room was pitch black at night and it was so very quiet that combined with an outrageously comfy bed, we had some seriously good sleeps!
The swims down the river and the outdoor jacuzzi were particular highlights.
Breakfast was great and the Italian tasting menu was very, very good! I can’t comment on the quality of other meals as we did not eat at the hotel after this but my assumption is they would be equally good.
The place is kept spotlessly clean and well maintained. The staff were all amazing, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I didn’t get the name of the gentleman on reception but we booked a private boat trip through him and he was there most days and he was extremely helpful.
There is one ‘but’ though which irritated me daily. This is a 5 star hotel and you get a 5 star experience for sure, however, the drinks are absurdly expensive. You’re a bit of a captive audience as there is nowhere really close to go out for a few drinks unless you get a taxi into La Caletta. I urge management to review their drinks prices and mini bar prices.
All in all, it was excellent and we very much enjoyed our holiday here and would highly recommend this hotel but be warned about the Sri is and mini bar prices.
Great if you enjoy the noise and disruption of being in a building site. Stayed here on a Jet2.com indulgent escape in June. There was no prior notification from either the hotel or Jet2 about the significant renovation work being carried out all day everyday in the hotel. Both very noisy and an eyesore. Hotel Manager promised me that compensation would be due for the £7500 holiday that was disrupted - 3 months later Jet2 got in touch to say they are offering nothing. Please avoid this hotel as they clearly have a problem with honesty.
