Just returned after a weeks stay and overall this hotel is really nice. Everything that you would expect for a 5* hotel. Only drawback in my opinion is being half board. Everything gets charged to your room and the invoice isn't very detailed it just references the bar / restaurant with an amount so there's no real way of tracking if the charges are yours or not. Its worth knowing that if you have stayed in a RUI before and made an account you can use points to deduct from your bill or book against a late check out we had 56,000 points from a 2 week prior stay.
There's lots of food options for breakfast and evening meal and lots for children to choose from too. We landed in very late/ early morning and there was a cold spread and cereal left out for us in the dining area.
You can walk along the beach front to some local restaurants and shops its well lit and not overly busy.
Id recommend getting a private taxi from the airport as we were the last stop of about 10 after a very late flight.
We would stay again but would prefer to go all inclusive.
My Wife and I have stayed here several times and have always been happy with everything. But on this occasion, the mattress on our bed was sunken, so we asked for a topper, unfortunately this is not one topper that fits the bed, but two, that then hang over the edges by several inches, and of course the sheets do not fit. The food, there was a good variety on offer, but there were not always vegetables available to go with the meat joints. And at breakfast the eggs were very hit and miss, the poached eggs were placed in ramekins and were like bullets, fried eggs were either under cooked or like bullets. My Wife did try to talk to the manager regarding the food issue, but you could tell he was not interested. But funny enough when a couple of gentleman arrived in suits who were obviously to do with the hotel, everything changed for the better. We love Tenerife, but sadly maybe looking for alternative accommodation
Beautiful hotel in an unbeatable location. We stayed in a sea view room and the views were amazing – definitely one of the highlights of our stay. I am giving this hotel five stars because we had a lovely holiday, but if I'm comparing it to other Riu Palace hotels, especially Riu Palace Maspalomas in Gran Canaria, I do think there are a few areas where it could improve. For me, the restaurant staff don't quite have the same smart appearance as at Maspalomas, where they wear shirts and waistcoats that give the whole dining experience a more five-star feel. Here they wear polo shirts, which just doesn't have the same effect. The pool and bar service could also be quicker. There were a few times we were waiting a while before anyone came over to take an order. It's not a major issue, but it's something I noticed compared with other Riu Palace hotels. I've also stayed at Riu Arecas next door twice before, and I honestly think the service there is every bit as good, if not better. Considering Arecas is much cheaper, it offers excellent value for money. If this hotel is rated five stars, then Arecas certainly deserves the same recognition. That said, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. The hotel is due a refurbishment soon, and I'm looking forward to seeing the changes when it reopens. It has everything it needs to be one of the best Riu Palace hotels, and I hope a few small improvements to the service help it reach that level.
This is a lovely hotel where the staff are so polite, helpful and nothing is too much trouble, it’s pretty high end stuff. Waiter/ waitresses serve you at the table and treat you like royalty. The place is spotless, the rooms spacious with lovely views and entertainment in the evenings wasn’t too bad. Food was brilliant, all cooked well, plenty of it, good variety and if anything too much choice, probably one of the best I’ve stayed at. The location is perfect, if you like weed smoking, drinking excessively and swearing it’s not the place for you, this is a quiet relaxing location where you can easily access the beach, there are a few old people but also lots of youngsters, very few children those here are well behaved. Sandy beaches and views of the sunset. Taxis are on hand, 16 euro ish to Las Americas. I’d also recommend the dolphin and whale watching tour, it was good, we went with White Tenerife tours.
This hotel surpassed my expectations. The staff and food were both wonderful. Staff went out of their way to provide an excellent experience. The hotel is very nice indeed and in a lovely location.
