This recently renovated hotel near the Playa del Duque beach offers numerous amenities, such as two freshwater pools, an infinity pool right on the seafront promenade with a terrace-solarium on the sand, free WiFi throughout the hotel, all so that you can enjoy the good weather and the sun. It also has a wellness centre, “Body Love”, with a range of treatments and massages to help you relax in body and mind. You'll be able to sample the varied gastronomic offerings of the buffet restaurant and thematic nights, or simply sit back and take in shows and live music. The warm climate that envelops the Hotel Riu Arecas in Tenerife year-round makes its beaches the perfect place to enjoy the sun and sea, and take part in activities and water sports, all under the watchful gaze of the Teide volcano and the spell of its lunar magic.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The grandeur of the entrance is a sign of the quality of this hotel. It may be 4* but some aspects are definitely 5* ... the service, the cleanliness, the renovation, the beach club, the food in both the all day dining and the speciality restaurant. The hotel exceeded expectations and we are getting drawn to using this hotel chain on future holidays after this stay and a previous visit to their establishment in New York. Cancun will be our next visit to a RIU hotel. If the RIU Arecas is anything to go by, we are in for a treat.
Wow As our children are at a age where they do their own thing (over 21),me and my wife always go Riu . Mexico Dubai to name 2 It is our best experience of a holiday. We ho adults only and it's so relaxing here in Tenerife. We went half board buy,they have a Spanish restaurant The Riu Aceras takes bookings and the steak is to die for,its the best steak I've ever had Fully recommend this place Perfect
We have recently returned from a 14 night stay at this wonderful hotel. From arrival to departure the staff were wonderful, helpful and professional. Our room was lovely and we were given the top floor that we had asked for ( thank you reception). Everything we requested was sorted ASAP, we even got mattress toppers which made the bed more comfortable. The pools are lovely and quiet as is the whole hotel, no pool tables or tvs so might not suit everyone. The surrounding area is very hilly with steps so might not suit any one with mobility issues. Food is lovely with lots of choice. The staff in the restaurant are so good at what the do, it makes the dining experience perfect. A great retreat very relaxing holiday.
I want to start my review to say a big thank you! To everyone in Rui Arecas for a warm welcome every time in this hotel. The hotel is very very clean. I was for 7 nights and every day the made me fell very special and I was delighted to join them
Arriving late after a delayed flight, we were met at check in by Andrew. He was absolutely charming, friendly and witty. When we entered our room and looked out over the balcony, we were 4th floor, right in the middle of viewing the two pools and also we could see the sea. Absolutely brilliant. Plenty of storage space, a fridge, Safe, chairs inside and on the balcony. You could not wish for more. Pools/Loungers - There are two lovely pools and at the perfect temperature. Around them are plenty of Sun loungers both in the sun (with parasol) and under cover. The hotel gives you pool towels that can be exchanged daily. Inflatables including balls in the pool are not allowed and staff quickly intervene. Food/Drink - Both breakfast and evening meal are buffet. Some food is cooked fresh whilst you wait and in the evening, fish is cooked in front of you and there is a carvery and grill. At a weekend with breakfast complimentary Cava was available. During the week there was a chocolate fountain on one particular day. All in all, plenty of choice. Locality - This is a Adults only hotel away from the busy centre of Costa Adeje. If you like lively hotels and areas, this would not be for you. For ourselves, it was perfect for a relaxing short break. At night there is evening entertainment until 22:30. In summary - Having stayed here several years before, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. It is a lovely hotel with very friendly staff. We had no complaints and thank you again Andrew.
