Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Hotel was lovely, rooms were really clean and pool was good. Plenty sunbeds so not stuck for getting one, Skybar is lovely too with nice views but gets busy so have to book. Only issue was the aircon being noisy but not unbearable as we managed to sleep every night. I’d recommend this hotel.
We were not happy with our stay, we booked an all inclusive holiday, and on arrival received our wristbands. However after ordering drinks from a pool bar we were told that that bar was not part of our package and we would have to pay extra. We then went to reception and paid extra to have inclusive drinks at all the bars, bought the wristbands, and was then told ‘you need to check what drinks you can have, this is the basic package’ luckily we are more than happy with water, coke & some daiquiris. On night two, my friend found a cockroach IN her bed, under her fitted sheet, we complained to the hotel receptionist to which she responded ‘that’s normal’ after some more complaining, she finally said she would call housekeeping and they’ll clean it when they’re available. Also, there’s currently poo on the floor by the poolside.
Would not recommend this hotel.
When I first arrived I was disappointed the smell in room (gold)and ant all over shelves and dirty nettings ,I cleaned worktops and aired room after first day never really seen many more ants ,room was clean but dated bedroom was nice and bright bed comfy and clean ,sofa bed also quite comfy and clean never seen any creepy crawlings in room all week which was good ,beds never got cleaned or changed all week which isn’t good as your in hot place and sweat a lot ,bathroom ok clean and shower was good if you run out toilet roll you need to buy yourself ,towels only got changed once a week which not good as you need to shower a couple times a day two bathroom towels and 2 hand towels isn’t enough,the pool and pool bar was good guy in pool bar really nice and friendly roof terrace was good but no umbrellas as it so hot up there but did have a shower up there to cool yourself off ,balcony furniture should be binned as so worn and grubby I wouldn’t eat off it I bought table cover (think outside furniture is getting replaced ) overall room was clean never seen any insects or spiders after first day I would stay again but better room
As a lot of reviews mention the location is pretty good, now the one positive is out of the way please think twice before booking this hotel. It wasn’t exactly a ‘cheap package deal’ so I automatically expected more and unfortunately the hotel is certainly not value for money. On arrival we were told the WiFi was down, and hopefully will be fixed the next day (it wasn’t we were still waiting days later) we were put in a room with no air con, only a ceiling fan. I went back to ask if there was anything that could be done or any other rooms available. We upgraded for an extra 60 euros, and the air con on the new room was satisfactory provided it was left on day and night to keep the room cool. After returning after the first day we found our rooms hadn’t been cleaned and towels not changed which we then found that this would only be done once during our trip. Other minor inconveniences included the door key cards only working on the forth time of asking, and it being pretty expensive to rent the safe… honestly felt like I’d travelled back in time…. Although it was just about bearable I do believe your holiday should be so much more enjoyable than our stay was, so please look at better option.
I must admit I was apprehensive about choosing Los Olivos as our hotel for our weeks holiday after reading quite a lot of negative reviews, however, I would advise future guests NOT to be put off. Don't get me wrong; there are points that could be improved upon (which would be the same with ANY hotel chosen, surely?) On the whole, for a three star Spanish hotel (and we have to remember it's a SPANISH 3 star - not in the UK, so the grading system is different.) we were both satisfied with Los Olivos. I would suggest those moaning minnies to choose a 5 star next time. Getting the negatives out of the way.... Our hotel room was difficult to locate - the management definitely need to review the signposts! Not recommended for people who don't like steps and slopes. The answer to this lies with the booker - check if the hotel is suitable BEFORE you book. Simple! One grumpy, unhelpful receptionist when we checked out - couldn't seem to be able to initialise the luggage room key and it took us three visits back to reception to get one that worked, and the female receptionist seemed to blame US when she discovered she in fact had given us the wrong key!! Shame for this experience - everyone else was lovely! The evening meals, in my opinion but maybe I am a little picky, were very samey. Now for the good points... Wonderful clean room. Spacious. Great kitchen ( not that we used it!) Spotless bathroom with amazing rainfall shower. We booked a one bedroom gold with roof terrace and the view was wonderful. Cleaners were meant to visit every two days but in fact came more often. We stayed all inclusive. Breakfast was the best in any all inclusive hotel I have stayed in. Especially the sausages. Loads of choice. Finally, as for the apparent cockroach infestation - it's a tropical country for goodness sake, you are going to see them! Nothing to do with cleaniless - the place is spotless. I saw two the whole holiday - both on some steps in a public area. The all inclusive cocktails were amazing - lovely and thick and not the usual watery ones you get with many all inclusive packages.
