This hotel is located on the promenade of San Eugenio, just steps from Playa del Bobo beach. There are a lot of shops and entertainment venues just minutes away, as well as public transport links nearby. Puerto de Colón is located nearby, where guests can enjoy boating and fishing trips. New Star Prestige area with personalized service, facilities and comfortable rooms. This is a great hotel for families with children as it counts with useful services and facilities specially designed for the little ones, such as a new Star Camp area and several fantastic swimming pools with sunbeds for adults to sunbathe or enjoy a moment of relaxation. Guest rooms are luminous and offer a fresh and modern style to guarantee a memorable stay.
The dress code to access the main restaurant consists of formal clothes for gentlemen, such as long pants during dinners.
Dip into one of the 2 outdoor swimming pools or enjoy other recreational amenities including a complimentary water park and a fitness centre. Additional features at this resort include complimentary wireless Internet access, babysitting (surcharge) and an arcade/games room.
First time at the bouganville playa and it certainly won't be the last. It was recommended to me and my partner and I have to say we was not disappointed. From the moment we arrived to leaving the staff was absolutely amazing. The food is amazing even the pickiest of eaters would be able to find something. Branded drinks, complementary crisps , nuts and smarties. Hotel is spotless and cleaners are in every day. The lifts yeah at times had to wait but not a problem. The only thing we found was could do with some air conditioning in the bar areas Sunbeds easy to use plenty of them. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Booking for next year.
Just returned from another lovely weeks holiday at the Iberostar waves Bougainville player.
The hotel is in a great location close to many bars and restaurants just outside of the hotel.
I was all inclusive and star prestige on floor 10 with great sea views .
Always plenty of choices at all meal times something for everyone and I am very fussy eater.
All the staff are very friendly and some have been working at the hotel a very long time.
If you need anything just ask reception and if they can they definitely will.
The lifts can bit a little slow at peak times mainly at the start of meal times when you check in you get choice of two different sitting times. In my opinion if you go just before the restaurant doors open it’s not too bad.
The hotel is looking a bit dated in places but the maintenance team are always making changes to these areas.
They have a good choice of premium spirits and of course San Miguel and strongbow in bottles.
Once again a BIG thank you to ALL the staff for making my week very enjoyable.
And looking forward to my stay next year.

The location of this hotel is perfect, with restaurants and bar all within walking distance, the only downside is that the streets can be quite noisy at night. I stayed on the 10th floor but was right at the end where the strip is, music went on until 11am, but me and my partner slept through. This was my second time staying, and I was previously on the 11th floor further along and I had no problems with the noise, however good to note that the top floors are prestige star only. The staff on reception were quite abrupt and less welcoming than the previous year. I stayed in a prestige room and the rooms were cleaned, mopped and new towels brought everyday. The sunbeds provided in the prestige area were comfy and washed everyday. The carpets in the hallways could’ve with a good clean lots of stains and looking old. Shower kept going extremely hot then cold. Aircon was okay but not the best I’ve had. Breakfast was always good and hot. In the prestige lounge there were a variety of alcohol beverages that you could help yourself to, and snacks, however lots of the sandwiches were stale. Only four lifts for the entire hotel so quite slow, same in the previous year. Had to ask for mini fridge to be stocked twice as not filled when we arrived. Overall, I’d say the prestige is worth the money, but I probably wouldn’t stay otherwise as quite basic and could do with some tweaks for the price.
Just back from another hot stay here, which was a lovely break from the usual UK weather (though we have been slightly spoilt this year).
The staff always appear to be happy and willing to help, and the food in the restaurant for breakfast is great.
However, why on earth has nothing ever been done about the lifts? You can go back at least 5 years in the reviews and guests since then have repeatedly complained about how poor they were yet nothing has been done to improve the situation. This week, I believe three of them were out of action for lengthy periods, do hotel management think it is reasonable for guests to have to use the steps to go from the pool to the 8th floor for example?
Iberostar Las Dalias should also be asked to turn the volume down a bit. At times in the evening, we had to check the doors were closed to our balcony, it was that loud.
No doubt this review will get the usual canned response from management thanking me for my feedback which is so important to them, but will not do anything with it.
We have just returned from a lovely 10 night stay here as a group of 4 adults and 1 toddler. The stand outs for this hotel is definitely the friendly and attentive housekeeping staff, especially Yasmina who cleaned our rooms most days and Edu one of the supervisors. The team work incredibly hard, which is so often over looked by guests. On arrival we were checked in by Pepe who went out of his way to arrange rooms close by each other for us.
We stayed half board and the selection of food at breakfast and dinner was extensive. There was really something for everyone. A special touch was the Kids Corner where there is a lower level buffet area the children can reach themselves with a child friendly selection of food, which included healthy options, not only the typical beige selection so often offered to children. There was also a small play area where the children could go after they finished eating allowing parents to finish their meals and drinks in peace. As we were halfboard we didn’t have drinks included with our evening meal but the serving staff would come take our drinks order and bring the drinks to our table. During service the waiting staff are constantly clearing tables and the chefs are continually refilling the buffet. There is also a cleaner going around the entire time, cleaning and spills around the buffet counters and on the floors.
We didn’t use the main pool area (the one with the pyramid in the centre) so I can’t comment on that but we spent our time around the other pool, the toddler/baby pool and aqua fun pool. The large pool was a nice temperature, and has a really nice shallow ledge on one side where you can sit. My daughter absolutely loved the slides, both the smaller ones in the baby pool and the bigger ones in the aqua fun pool. Even my 72 year old father enjoyed a second youth flying around the largest slides!
My only two minor negative comments, would be, firstly the area around the pool was not cleaned very well. They went around on a ride on mopping machine each morning along the main walk ways and one morning even did a ‘deep clean’ and stacked all the sun loungers, but this didn’t seem to do much. Also the bottoms of the sun loungers and parasols needed a wash down. By no means was the area filthy but just a bit more attention needed. The second comment would be the lifts, we were already aware before we arrived / booked because it is mentioned so frequently in the reviews. However despite there being 4 lifts, you really do have to wait a long time a peak times, such as breakfast, dinner and pool closing time. For us going down the stairs was not an issue, even with the toddler, but we were certainly in no rush to back up them!
All in all it was an excellent stay, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would certainly stay again.
