H10 Gran Tinerfe

Very disapointed on arrival to find that the hotel has a low maintance policy. The room was a good size but any maintence was none exsistant. First of all the aircon was not working as expected. The sink had a plug that did'nt hold water. One of sliding, large glass warderobe doors had come off its bottom track and looked in danger of falling off. The door to the balcony was sticking and was very difficult to open or close. It took 3 days to get some of these faults rectified. Apart from these problems the rest of the hotel facilities are what is expected at a 4 star hotel.

Great hotel, fantastic entertainment and definitely worth upgrading to Privilege

We’ve been to Tenerife many times and really enjoyed our stay at the H10 Gran Tinerfe. Overall, I would definitely recommend the hotel, and I’m particularly glad that we chose to upgrade to Privilege.

The Privilege upgrade was definitely worth it for us. It gave us access to three additional à la carte restaurants, although it’s worth noting that two of these can only be used once during a seven-night stay. We still really enjoyed having the extra options, particularly as the main buffet restaurant could get very busy at times. On one occasion, we even saw people queuing to get into the buffet, so having the additional dining options was a real bonus.

⭐ The entertainment was outstanding

The evening entertainment was probably the best we’ve experienced in Tenerife. We’ve stayed at a number of hotels on the island over the years, and the entertainment here was noticeably better. There was a great variety and the standard was excellent.

The daytime activities were also really good. I don’t normally take part in hotel activities, but this time I decided to join in — and I’m so glad I did!

The pool party is an absolute must. There was loads of foam, great music and even a singer. It was brilliant fun and one of the highlights of the holiday. I also managed to get a great tan on that day!

The animation team are excellent, and the main guy is absolutely hilarious. They really do put a lot of effort into making sure everyone has a good time.

☀️ The Privilege sunbed situation

There was one thing that did disappoint us, though, and that was the situation with the sunbeds in the Privilege area.

The hotel has a rule about not reserving sunbeds before 10am, but unfortunately this didn’t seem to be enforced in the Privilege area. On three separate occasions we went down at around 9am and all the sunbeds had already gone. This was frustrating because, if the rule had actually been followed, we would have had a much better chance of using the area we had paid extra to access.

There also seemed to be an attitude among some guests that certain sunbeds were effectively “theirs”. On one occasion I got up early to queue for a sunbed and was actually called selfish by someone because I had taken a sunbed that apparently another gentleman always used. I found this quite ridiculous — sunbeds aren’t allocated to individuals, and if the hotel has a rule about reserving them, surely everyone should have to follow the same rules.

Unfortunately, there was also a particular group of guests who were extremely rude to the staff. I even overheard one lady say that she “pays their wages”, which I found incredibly uncomfortable and unnecessary.

There are always a few people who can spoil things for others, but I have to say that the staff were fantastic. They worked incredibly hard throughout our stay and were consistently friendly, polite and helpful, even when dealing with some rather difficult behaviour from guests.

📍 Location

The location is right on the edge of Costa Adeje, towards the Playa de las Américas side. We found it okay, although the area immediately towards Playa de las Américas and around Veronica’s isn’t particularly attractive.

If you continue further along towards the Golden Mile, however, there are some much nicer areas, shops and places to explore.

We didn’t venture too far into Adeje itself, but there is a lovely coastal walk towards the harbour, which is well worth doing.

Overall

Despite the few negatives, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return to the H10 Gran Tinerfe.

The entertainment was exceptional, the animation team were brilliant, the staff were lovely and the Privilege upgrade was definitely worthwhile for us — particularly because of the extra dining options.

The main thing I would like to see improved is the enforcement of the 10am sunbed rule, particularly in the Privilege area. If everyone followed the same rules, it would make the experience much more enjoyable for everyone.

Overall, a really enjoyable stay and one of the better hotels we’ve stayed at in Tenerife. 🌴☀️
