This modern and luxurious hotel is located in the north of Playa de las Américas, in Tenerife. The airport is about 15 minutes away by car. The complex is ideally situated on the seaside, surrounded by numerous beautiful beaches, trendy restaurants and nightclubs ideal to have a delicious dinner or a couple of drinks. Public transportation links are in the vicinity. The excellent climate the island has year-round allows guests have an unforgettable experience. The property offers a wide selection of healthy and wonderful food options that will please all types of tastes. For visitor’s relaxation, the spa will receive them with open arms to get the stress out of their bodies. Each visitor will love the outdoor pool area since they can sunbathe on a sunbed or enjoy under the shadow of an umbrella. The rooms have been perfectly decorated with light and warm tones to create cosy atmosphere and make travellers feel comfortable and have the greatest experience.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We have been coming to the Tacande for many years, as previous reviews will show. Obviously anywhere will have hiccups but overall we have enjoyed our times here and brought family here too. However in March we totally lost trust in the management. The weather was horrendous for our time here and although management did try to offer internal options everybody was fed up with the experience. No fault of the hotel. However we were happy to rebook based on past times. Then we had a personally addressed letter from the management saying they hoped we had enjoyed our stay and offering us a 5 per cent discount on our next booking. However when we spoke to Reservations, they said they would have to take the issue up with the hotel manager. Reservations asked who had sent us the letter and asked if we would send them a copy. We explained it was from the manager and sent a copy as requested. We were then informed that as "super loyal clients" we already receive a discount on our bookings. This is true - but the offer in the letter was a different matter to us - otherwise why bother to send the letter to us? But management said NO. We would not get the offered 5 per cent. We were astonished but were told that everyone who left got the offer. We have left after a holiday on very many occasions but never had such a letter before. It really is not the money, it is the principal of the thing. A personal offer which is then withdrawn. A question of trust. To add insult to injury, when we said we would therefore cancel the new booking, we were told we would then be charged one night's penalty Our booking was actually a premium rate booking allowing cancellations until near the holiday and that was almost a year away! We obviously refused the charge, pointing out the relevant booking clause. But considering everything are glad we made the right decision. As I said before, a question of trust. Having already booked our flights we look forward to returning to Tenerife but obviously to a different hotel which we have chosen with great care. We look forward to being able to write a happier review on our new hotel next time. Thank you for reading this.
Hotel was lovely can’t fault that bit. Went on Sunday 16th for 5 nights. On the Tuesday I had a really bad accident in the upstairs pool gold service that ruined my family holiday. Had to go to hospital for xray and ct scans. Management at the time seem interested till I left. They did provide there insurance information but after a confirmation I told them am not about claiming for money but if the hotel want to give me what I lost which is basically my holiday then am more than happy to settle without involving insurance. Was told to put in an email which I have done 4-5 times now to be ignored apart from a email stating they have wet floor signs out which is lies to where I slipped. Also they have none slip floor again lies as I went bad enough to have to go to hospital infront of many witnesses at the time. Stupidly I didn’t get anyone’s information as I was in that much pain in was the last thing on my mind. If anyone was there at the time Tuesday 18th August and did see it I would appreciate it if you could contact me.
We spent a wonderful 5 days at Gran Tacande. Everything was seamless, set in a great location, beautiful pool areas, staff were attentive, our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast had lots on offer. The roof top bar was a highlight and a great setting to watch the sun set. Couple of improvements would be the checking of the poolside toilets more often and on a few occasions we waited a while for drink orders around the pool. But overall very nice hotel, I would definitely recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay!
On our last day and it’s been a great holiday . Lovely hotel with perfect position for the beach , shops and restaurants. All staff have helpful and super friendly . We will definitely consider this hotel next time we visit Tenerife
Stayed here in June & had a whirlpool room came back the 4th of September to the 11th but had a swim up room on the Sebastian. Some snacks & some drinks incuded. The only thing i would say is in June Sangria was incuded on the gold level but this time i was told it wasnt. I just wondered why its not incuded when wines are? I Loved the room & pool so much & will definitely book that room again. Already looking for next June. It was one of the most relaxing holidays I have ever had. Sitting in the pool outside your room even having a drink brought to us. Made us a bit lazy 🤣 The man working at the bar the week we were there was amazing, friendly & helpful. I forgot to get his name but he worked on the Sebastian bar from the 5th to the 11th when we went home. He was big built very dark hair. He deserves a big thank you & i did thank him for looking after us & making our holiday a bit more special. I was celebrating my birthday out there & he brought me a drink & him & other people on holiday sang happy birthday. We used the pool bar restaurant downstairs a few times. Very good food & friendly staff. We do also love the big pool & came down a couple of times but when we wanted a drink we had to go back upstairs. It would be easier if you are gold level you could get the same drinks from the pool bar that you get from the Sebastian bar. Breakfast is good with lots of choice. We have visited Costa Adeje over the last 10 years & usually stay at the Adrian Jardines Nivaria but im glad we tried this hotel as for us its definitely better.
