The Hotel Chatur Playa Real Resort is located in the most exclusive tourist place in the south of Tenerife, in Costa Adeje. Very close to Playa del Duque and Fañabe beach and Siam Park. It is a hotel aimed at families and couples. Chatur Playa Real Resort offers an all-inclusive service and has 178 comfortable and spacious rooms with a separate bedroom, distributed in two buildings. The 117 junior suites are located in the main building and the 61 family rooms equipped with kitchenette are in the annex. All services and common areas are shared together to avoid limitations in the use of the facilities. There is a new pool area in the family room area with two splash pools for the children. And there are 2 more pools in the main area of the building with a small children's pool.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Disappointing Stay – Negatives Outweighed the Positives
Having visited Tenerife many times, we were really looking forward to our family holiday at Chatur Playa Real. Unfortunately, the hotel fell well below our expectations.
Starting with the positives, the food was good, some members of staff were genuinely lovely, polite and friendly, and the taxi service was quick and efficient. The children’s splash pool was great, and the blue sunbeds around this area were comfortable and well maintained.
Sadly, the negatives far outweighed the positives.
The main pool area had numerous broken sunbeds and umbrellas, which looked poorly maintained and raised safety concerns. The rooms were extremely outdated, not particularly clean, and we had lots of ants in the rooms, along with broken wardrobes and tired furnishings.
The gym was disappointing, as was the hotel shop, and both could do with some serious attention.
The all-inclusive drinks selection was also frustrating and very limited. We were particularly surprised to be told Prosecco wasn’t available until 7pm because it apparently only comes out in the evening! Not quite what you expect from an all-inclusive holiday.
Staff attitudes were very mixed. While some were wonderful, others were unfortunately rude and unhelpful, which really let the hotel down.
Thankfully, we were away with family and made the best of it. We still had a lovely holiday together, but that was down to the company rather than the hotel itself.
Having visited Tenerife numerous times, we know the standards the island has to offer, so this was a real disappointment.
I understand there is a new General Manager, and I sincerely hope she takes the necessary steps to improve the cleanliness, maintenance and overall customer experience, as the hotel certainly has potential.
Overall, we enjoyed our holiday despite the hotel, not because of it. Sadly, we wouldn’t return or recommend it in its current condition.
4 out of 5 for us ...hotel was good nothing flash ..food was good & plenty of drink pool was fine ...no much live entertainment singers or something at night but bar that it was fine ...10 min walk down to the beach ,shops etc 5 mins walk ....overall nice break
Was having a great holiday until my purse was stolen from the room. Do not disturb sign was put on the door, yet the cleaner still entered a few times during our 10 night stay. Wasn't the only room to be done during our stay. Please be careful with your valuables, don't trust anyone
Couldn't have been better! This hotel will be difficult to beat in every way! ALL the staff are second to none! We will return, that's definate, no doubt. The staff, the food the pool, everything about this hotel is exceptional! We know, we were there as I say, it will be hard to beat. There is Noidys, Espe, Ernesto, Monton, to name but a few, these are exceptional staff, they know what they are doing and are pleasant, courteous, welcoming, and more. They make everyone feel very welcome, they smile and greet you and you just feel you belong here with the Playa Real staff. We travelled the entire way from Northern Ireland twice to be here because it's so good! And, give us health, we will be back! To tell you the truth we just wished we lived here it's that good! The manager has got great great staff and one cannot praise them enough. We actually have now made live long true friends, Noidys, Espe, Ernesto and Monton, they really are terrific people!!!! Also ALL the other hotel staff, from the cleaners, the entertainment, the reception, the restaurant staff, cooks, etc. This is a hotel made in heaven! Without a doubt, the manger & team have great staff to be so so proud of indeed. You wouldn't get any better people anywhere in earth, that's the honest truth. Everyone goes out of their way to help, no matter what it is. If we couldn't get back here it would break our hearts. The nicest people on this planet work here and we just hope lots other guests appreciate them as much as we do. Staff in a million at Playa Real, Tenerife. This hotel should be 5 star, no problem, in our books, one couldn't rate it highly enough, the food is also delicious, snack bar, one is well and truly taken care of here. Once again thank you to all at this great hotel.The delicious cake and wine in room was well recieved.This was the fourth year back at the hotel.The staff are always friendly and some remembered us from previous years and greeted us with a hola and a smile.The food selection was always good.The entertainment team worked hard especially Nordys who tried to lnvolve everone in daytime ganes.Met some lovely people and hope to get back next year.
