Iberostar Selection Jardin del Sol Suites

⭐ Overall I stayed at the Iberostar for one week on a bed and breakfast package in a standard suite with a sea view. From the moment we arrived, we had a fantastic stay and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The hotel provided the perfect balance of relaxation and luxury, and the sea view from our room made it even more special.

📍 Location The hotel's location was excellent. There were a few shops and restaurants just a short walk away, and the main area of Santa Ponsa was around a 20-minute walk. You can get there either by following the beautiful coastal path or by walking through the streets, where you'll find plenty more shops, bars, and restaurants along the way.

The main beach in Santa Ponsa is around a 20-minute walk and is well worth visiting as it's large, sandy, and has a great atmosphere. If you just want to enjoy the sea without going as far, the hotel has direct access to the sea, and there's also a small rocky beach only around a five-minute walk away, which was perfect for a quick swim or snorkelling.

🛏️ Room We stayed in a standard sea view suite, which was very spacious and well laid out. It included a whirlpool bath, a separate living area, and the bedroom at the back of the suite. This layout worked really well, as it meant we could hardly hear any of the evening entertainment, making the room peaceful at night.

The room itself was a little dated, but this didn't affect our stay and wasn't something that bothered us. The only downside was an issue with ants. Throughout the week we noticed a few ants around the sink and bathroom, but on our final morning there were significantly more in the bathroom. It wasn't enough to spoil our holiday, but it's something the hotel may want to address.

🏨 Facilities As we were staying on the standard package rather than the Prestige package, we had access to the main pool. It was a great size, with plenty of space to swim, and although the water was slightly on the warm side, that's to be expected given how hot the weather was during our stay. Pool towels were also provided, which was a nice touch.

The only slight downside was the availability of sunbeds. The hotel has clear signs stating that sunbeds shouldn't be reserved before 9:00am unless they are being actively used. However, many guests seemed to get around this by having one person sit on the sunbeds while the rest of their group arrived later. As a couple, we didn't really want to do this. We usually went down at around 9:15am and were still able to find sunbeds, but after around 10:00am it became much more difficult.

The hotel also states that towels will be removed if sunbeds are left unattended for more than 45 minutes. While this is a good policy in theory, it didn't seem to be enforced consistently. On several occasions, we noticed reserved sunbeds next to us that remained empty for hours without the towels being removed. A more consistent approach to enforcing this rule would make the experience fairer for everyone.

🍽️ Food & Drinks As we were on the bed and breakfast package, I can only comment on the breakfast. There was an excellent selection of food each morning, with plenty of choice to suit different tastes, and everything we tried was fresh and well presented.

The staff in the breakfast restaurant were always friendly, welcoming, and efficient, helping to create a relaxed start to each day. It was always clean.

We chose to eat out every evening, so I can't comment on the evening dining experience. Similarly, we didn't use the pool bar, as it wasn't included in our package.

🌅 Atmosphere The overall atmosphere around the pool was extremely quiet and peaceful, which was ideal if you're looking for a relaxing holiday. Music isn't played around the pool, so it can feel very calm and quiet throughout the day. The lady who runs the aqua aerobics sessions makes a real effort to create some atmosphere, singing along and encouraging everyone to get involved, which was lovely to see, although outside of these sessions the pool area remained very quiet.

We didn't attend any of the evening entertainment during our stay, so unfortunately I can't comment on this.

⭐ Final Verdict Overall, we had a lovely week at the Iberostar and would definitely consider returning. The hotel is ideal if you're looking for a relaxing, adults-only break with beautiful sea views, a spacious room and a peaceful pool area. There were a few small things that could be improved, particularly the consistency of the sunbed policy and the issue with ants in our bathroom, but these didn't spoil our holiday. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the hotel, particularly to couples looking for a quieter and more relaxing getaway.

Me and my husband recently stayed at Jardin des Sol for 6 nights for a ‘baby moon’. I am 27 weeks pregnant and we were looking for for a relaxing holiday by a pool. That’s exactly what we got, and we were made to feel very special. The staff can’t do enough for you, with a special mention to Phillip (the king) for not one but two very thoughtful touches and Anyas (waitress at the pool bar) who probably got about 20,000 steps every day delivering drinks around the pool.

Our suite was excellent, a beautiful view and everything you’d want in your room. The app was very helpful, telling you when your room had been cleaned! The cleaning team clearly did a thorough job too.

The breakfast lunch and dinner buffet was fabulous. So much choice for each meal with a stunning view overlooking the sea. Food was always really tasty. I particularly loved how the ice cream flavours changed regularly too.

Drink choices by the pool were also excellent. Me and my husband have been on our fair share of all inclusive holidays and sometimes the drinks can be a bit naff elsewhere. Here they have a really nice selection of cocktails, and for me who wasnt drinking, there was even more of an array of mocktails / other fruit blends that I could chose from every day which were all lovely.

The pool was lovely - I often really struggle to get in a pool when going abroad because they’re always a bit too cold but both the outdoor and indoor pool were a great temperature to get into to cool off. The pool staff also provide noodles to float around on. There are also always plenty of sunbeds to choose from and some lovely cushy doubles in the shade (which we took advantage of most days!)

We also treated ourselves to a spa treatment each. My husband had a deep tissue massage and I had a pregnancy massage. Both treatments were wonderful and we left feeling really relaxed.

A wonderful relaxing stay!
